- I had one a long time ago and loved it. I would clean it by dumping it behind the garage, then bringing it in to rinse it. In addition to that I would highly recommend the ionic breeze air purifier. The model that has the UV lamp in it. I have one on each floor and now I don't get sick anywhere near as often as I used to. If you don't get the vacuum with water then get a bagless with a hepa filter.

The best thing you can do is to put your dog somewhere away from the noise- perhaps crated, or even in the car if it is well mannered and the weather makes it safe to do so. Just anything to shield your dog's ears from the screaming machine. I have had to explain rips in the bag to the vac repairman myself...
