Q:Why do people keep running over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it, then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
I fight this urge. I normally will pick it up and somehow hold it until I make a trip to dump the contents of the sweeper. But I have this urge to throw it down for the sweeper to pick up. Why I don't know.
Q:I'm currently treating my cats for fleas and have been on a hoovering mission to try and tackle the problem in the house.99% of what I've read on the internet tells you that you MUST throw the bag away every time you hoover because fleas can escape! I can see how they may be able to survive the process of being sucked up and that eggs can still hatch, but can they really find their way out of the bag and down my long henry hose and back out into the outside world?I'm hoovering nearly every day and it seems ridiculous and expensive to replace what is actually a pretty empty bag.I'm putting a sock over the hose and securing with one of the attachments to be on the safe side but what does everybody think?
I understand your situation and bless you for being so diligent. When the bag gets full, put it in a plastic garbage bag and tie it closed really good then throw it away. Consistent vacuuming in every corner, crevis, under furniture cusions, top and bottom of appliances, matress, etc. Wash counters down with bleach along with top and under of refrigerator, stove, bare floors, etc. Wash pet's bedding in hot water with bleach. Cut some lemon wedges and boil them. Let sit overnight and the next day spray your carpet, furniture and pets with the lemon juice. Comb your pets fur sideways on an old cloth or garbage bag then throw away making sure no specs fall onto your floors. You can even wipe your pets down with vinegar, since fleas do not like the sent. Fleas can live without a host for 6 months so all of this needs to be done frequently until you are sure all fleas are gone. Also keep your yard grass cut short and discard any debris where fleas can hide like old furniture. If your pets have fleas in their ears, put some mineral oil or olive oil in their ears (this should be done away from carpeting and furniture). Let pet shake the debris out then take a cotton ball and wipe ears out gently. Good luck, I hope you get rid of those litte irritating pests.
Q:My vacuum cleaner makes my house smell every time I use it. Its a brand new vacuum. I've tried vacuuming up baking soda but that didn't work. Please help.
Knowing the type of smell would help. Also is it an upright? Does it have a hose? If it isn't mechanical, belt, beater brush. Could there be something caught along the way?? Food or? Lay the vacuum flat if it's an upright release handle and check for a blockage. Mine has a hose that it goes through first. I use a broom stick if something gets stuck. You can also use another vacuum (shop vac is great). If it's not that...change the bag, vacuum and change again. I also toss potpourri on the floor to make the house smell good. They also sell tablets that you can buy. If it's brand new I would also be looking at returning it for an unstinky one~~~
Q:I would like to hear from users of the H20 Vacuum Cleaners. Are they as good as they say?
yeah, they really suck
Q:nuff said
broom, vacume sometimes for lil dirt speckles=] luvv ur pic
Q:what are the best brands of upright vacuum cleaners?
A kirby? I've never even heard of that. Well, if you want a great vacuum cleaner, you gotta go with a Dyson, the only catch being those things are OUTREGEOUS! I think the cheapest one is about $500. Other than that, I've got a Bissell right now that works fantastically. And it was only about $60 at Wal-Mart. It's one of those bagless vacuums, with the filters. You don't have to replace any of the filters either, they're all washable in the sink. So, pretty cheap and convenient.
Q:i Can anyone give me more suggestions on this question. I have a collie that lives in my house at times, an carpet an vinyl floors in my house. Is there something better than the Miele S5981 Capricorn with SEB-236 Power brush.
i have a dyson its like jesus in a vacuum
Q:I want to know what do you think about a simplicity 6 series vacuum cleaners IF you own one I would like some feedback are they better then the other vacuums far as sucking power go. Thank you I also did a spell check.
We got one a couple months ago and I've had no complaints with it. The suction is fine and was as good, if not better, than the others in the store I tested. I like the quick disconnect cord too. You can't go wrong with this choice.
Q:Everytime I run it, it omits this foul odor?? My dad thinks it's normal, but he's a hillbilly. I KNOW it's not normal. I must know what it is.
You may need to change or wash the air filter, empty bag often. You don't say what type of cleaner it is so it's hard to give a proper answer. If it's like a burning electrical smell then it may be the wiring or the motor. try the above first if that does not work take the cleaner to a repair place.
Q:I want to know your personal experiences about which vacuum is best (especially for deep cleaning and getting cat hair off furniture), and which are just a waste of money. Only your own experiences, please! I don't really care what your hairdresser's cousin's husband's mother said, lol!I'm planning to buy another new vacuum, and want to get the most bang for my buck, and hopefully one that will last! Thanks a bunch!
Well, I've had a Kirby since 1979 and it's still going strong. I've always had cats and dogs and whatever other critters in the house. They're expensive - I think I paid close to $500 when I bought it with all the attachments - rug shampooer, carpet cleaner, etc - but considering I've had it over 30 years, I've gotten my money's worth. I've only had to replace the belt twice. I think they cost about $6 last time I bought one.
