- Q:No central air or heat, so in winter windows are cracked and in summer windows are screened but opened. I bought the air purifier to help with allergies and after 2 nights it does seem to help, but think I need to go back and get the larger one. This one is for room 10 x 12 and my room is 16 x 13 and is connected to kitchen with no dividing door. Am I fighting a losing battle, or will this unit help pretty bad allergies (I think mostly to dust)? Would love to hear your experiences.P.S. I bought the Holmes brand with Hepa type filter.Thank you.
- Air okorder /... (just found this, we didn't record it). I hope this helps.
- Q:I understand that all Dyson vacuums go on sale everywhere that sells them at the same time. Thanks in advance.
- I bought mine at Lowe's it was not advertised as being on sale, I saved over 100.00. When I went to the front it range up on sale (they are very good, I love mine )
- Q:Got the Dyson but do not like it.
- I used to sell Kirby Vacuum cleaners when I was young. They are very expensive however in all of my demonstrations I could never beat the cheap old Shop Vac. While the Shop Vac does not come with fancy attachments it is the most sensible design. The vacuums with the paper bags designs are sheer stupidity. They blow bacteria all through the air. Absolute nonsense. The little water tanks sound like a good idea but I find the machines awkward and clumsy and frustrating. Give me that sensible Shop Vac any day and get your fancy gadgets out of my face.
- Q:Can poor people own Dyson vacuum cleaners?
- if they steal a Dyson vacuum cleaner...why not? let me just plug my new Dyson into my neighbors power supply and wallah! vacuuming with a Dyson is the new borrowing Grey Poupon? from your neighbors Bently..yay!
- Q:Has anyone with pet allergies tryed the Hepa Air Cleaner? How well does it work?
- I have one and the people in my house who have allergies don't seem to react...
- Q:Did they have electricity and indoor plumbing? What were the rooms like? Was the house kept tidy? What kind of cleaning equipment was used?Did they have vacuum cleaners, bleach and air freshener?
- Most homes from the 50's were pretty modest. The average one is probably about 900 square feet. They did have electricity. Rooms were smaller than today standards, Houses were kept very tidy, they had bleach and vacuum cleaners.
- Q:Can you list all the companies that ever made vacuum cleaners and the names of the vacuum cleaners?
- No I can't.
- Q:Yeah they all seem great the first time you vacuum, but then no matter how clean is the filter they just don't suck. I don't have $70-$100 every month to go and buy new one especially knowing that it's not gonna pick up what it's supposed to. I don't have pets and the carpet is short. Is there anything else out there that works? Does Dyson work as they claim? Please don't tell me to switch to wood floor or tile.
- I have a Dyson, it is very good with good suction but it will cost you around $599 but is worth paying a bit more for in the long run. I have had two cheap vacuum cleaners and both were hopeless. Hope this helps
- Q:What's are some good ones that won't break in a year?? Should I go with an industrial strength one (although those are really costly).
- An expensive model, used, would be my choice. Check what local vacuum repair places have for sale. My Filter Queen, bought used 22 years ago for 1/4 the new price at the time, is still going strong.
- Q:I have two upright Vacuum Cleaners, a 1997 Hoover Turbopower 2, and a 1979 Electrolux 502S, and was wondering how long the drive belts usually last ? On the Turbopower, I had to change the original belt about 3 months ago, as it was starting to slip, which means its belt lasted about 14 years. Is that normal ? Or was it incredibly lucky to last so long ?As for the Electrolux, it obviously doesn't have the original belt, and since I only got it 2 days ago, and didn't ask the previous owner when she last changed it, I have no idea how old it is, only that it still works fine.
- it would depend on the quality of the belt and the usage and the humidity .. most usually last for two or three years == as they are considered an expendable item
