- I have a DYSON I love it! I too do not think that anything will come better than that. A Dyson is similar to the Kirby which is a 1500.00 cleaner that does everything. All I have to do is clean and wash the filter every 6 months. They are easy to maintain. The one you are wondering about is the one i have and although it does not have all the attachments with it you can purchase them. I didn't need all the attachments b/c I have a carpet cleaner. It all depends what you are looking for and how much you will use it.

- It completely depends on the vacuum cleaner whether the hose must be in place or not for the floorhead to have suction. Most of the cheap vacuums require the hose to be holstered because suction is through the hose, not other ducting. Dyson is an example of a vacuum that can be used with or without the hose in place.
