- Q: I hate vacuum cleaners and my dad vacuums all of the time. Does anybody know of a silent vacuum cleaner?
- All vacuums will have a fair bit of noise. There is no way to make a silent vacuum but there are ways to reduce it. My suggestion is that if you are noise aversive then you need to go down to Sears/BestBuy and try every vacuum they have yourself, don't rely on another person to tell you how loud a vacuum is. But as a general rule, the better quality the motor is and the less moving parts there are, the quieter the vacuum is. Also strong plastics, good quality construction, and tight fitting parts will also help in noise reduction. Over time cheap plastic bodies will start to rattle more as well as the screws that hold them. And duct tape does not fix everything, I’ve tried.
- Q: i have a canister vacuum cleaner that has been working on and off. When it works, it works well, but sometimes when you try to turn it on it won't. But then when you try again later, it works. And it hasn't worked when it wasn't even used shortly before so it can't be overheated. The vacuum is at least a decade old. I'm suspecting that the motor i nearing the end of its life..but my dad refuses acknowledge the possibility of that and citing that it just needs to be cleaned. I know when the vacuum needs to be cleaned considering that I'm like the only one who uses it!

- Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.
- Q: I have had Sears vacuum cleaners, with beater bar and brushes, for over 40 years, now all of a sudden the bars have only brushes, no beater (to vibrate dust out of the carpet.) So I am wondering if ANY other company has them???.

- My mother in law has a Dyson and can't say enough about it. She says that she and my father in law swap off every week for who gets to use the Dyson vacuum cleaner. It's a funky looking yellow thing with a drum that looks like a revolver, with six cylinders. No bag, so you just invert the canister into the garbage bin, rinse, and away it goes again. It does not have the traditional wheels on a hinge design. Instead it's installed on a ball so that you can swivel it any which way from any angle you want. When my current vac bites the dust (bad pun) I'll get a Dyson too!

- It's just a cultural illusion ie. the color 'blue' is popular in Russia<and many countries including the USA but you are just seeing its use in another cultural context. Russian airborne troops were called 'Blue Berets'. Early NKVD/Cheka forces in the early Stalin era wore blue berets... There's a blue/camo used by troops in Russia...BUT it's only noticable really because one is comparing one culture to another ie. why do US police wear dark blue? Why are there so many green uniforms and green berets? Look more closely into Russian things ie. there's a great variety of colors...but blue is a popular color! I hear RED has been popular too. LOL
- Q: Hello! I was wondering if Vacuum cleaners get rid of germs. I mean, when I think about it, doesn't it probably suck all the germs up? Perhaps it may not kill germs, but it at least gets rid of them on a particular surface(like the carpet.)And if they don't get rid of germs, than how can I get rid of germs on the carpet? I know that Steam Cleaning and shampooing the carpet are good measures, but I don't want to do that on like a weekly basis. I am looking for something that can get rid of germs at least once a week.
- I know all the green people out there will hate my answer, but if you are concerned about germs in your carpet, the best stuff i know is Lysol disinfectant spray. I spray it on my carpets, my mattresses, couch arms, everywhere. It costs, it's not good for the planet, but it works. Vacuums can't vacuum up or kill germs. Sorry. Not yet.
