- Q: Greetings, all! I am currently cleaning my room, as in looking for dust spots and trying to sweep it up. I tried vacuuming, but my bird got scared and jumped to the bottom of the cage, so I figured to get a little birdhouse to move him while I did it. I also cleaned the lamp that I was using to give him light at night, and I accidentally swept too fast, I saw the particles rise around the cage. I got so worried. Should I be worried? Or is it only a large accumulation that could damage the bird? What can I do?Thanks in advance!
- You will be fine. If you are worried about your little buddy next time you clean, put him in a different room. I have a cat carrier that I put my parrot in if I need to keep her in a different room for a bit. As for the other guy's joke about the vaccume....I actually have a friend whose boyfriend did vaccume up her parrotlet, fortunately it was a shopvac not a vaccume with a bag, and the bird was ok!

I took it in to the authorized Hoover repair shoppe, and it will cost more to fix the darn thing than what I paid for it (well over 230 bucks). I bought it because Consumer Reports recommended it. It worked great (when it worked) but I had to take it in to repair the latch which kept the head on the wand and that cost and now this. I read up on the internet and find all sorts of complaints about Hoover, that it is no longer the company that it used to be (since it sold out to Maytag). My question is, what is a great vacuum cleaner that will not break the bank and will last more than two years? I have a dog, four kids with a stay-at-home mother so it needs to be durable, powerful, non-dust emitting, etc. Thank you very much for your input, especially personal experience with what has worked for you. - Dysons are great. Personally I never wanna spend much money so I usually Just get a cheapy and when it bites the dust I don't feel as guilty.
- Q: What kind of vacuum cleaners get around baseboards the best? Mine does ok with the floors but the edge cleaner is bad.
- I use a feather duster on the base boards, then follow through with an upright Sears vacuum cleaner model 36720. I give up on expensive vacuum cleaners many years back.
