- Q: so the universe will explode inward someday, could we prevent this by taking giant vacuums, switch them to reverse, and expand the universe?
- how can you switch nothing to reverse ?? You're just being silly.
- Q: At what point in history did vacuum cleaners become an appliance present in every household?
- Something like 1949. It was being used before that. It took some time to accepted ans affordable.I don't my mother had one until 1959 ? Long time ago.
- Q: Can a canister vacuum cleaner hepa filter be washed?
- I have been servicing and repairing vacuum cleaners for about 10 years now so I see a lot of filters. In my opinion even the filters that can be washed really shouldn't be unless they are a foam type material. Basically the washing doesn't really get the dirt out, what you have to consider is that the pores of the filter are super small to be able to trap particles as small as pollen and smoke and water doesn't flow well through holes this small. Also as the vacuum is running it is actually trying to pull air through the filter so the dust gets pulled in really hard and effectively gets stuck. Your vacuum will last longer by replacing the filter as it will cool the motor more effectively so while there is a cost in buying a new filter it extends the life of your vacuum hence saving you money in the long term. Hope this helps! :)
- Q: I am planning to get a now dog. Preferably a small breed, and it will be indoors allot. My house is really big. MY question is , will it be a problem if my house is almost always messy? there is allot of trash lyeing around all over the place, bits of paper, cloths hangers, cloths, other trash, toys. Will this is a big deal. I assume it would, but exactly how clean should I be for the new dog ? What kind of stuff is a absolute must to avoid having lying around in the dog's reach ?
- Puppies will pretty much eat/chew on everything. Any trash should be picked up. Clothes that you don't want torn also off the floor. The more stuff on the floor the more likely you will not be able to see if the puppy goes potty inside, and that's pretty gross.
- Q: The answers seem to be ads for this company
- Shill. I wasn't sure exactly what it meant so I looked it up. Yes I am an enthusiastic customer. I do want to help this company. Why? If you dealt with them you would know why. They went out of there way to talk to me and explain which machine would be best for me. I have had friends call and they to were impressed by their service. I guess since lately everywhere I go I get NO service and NO help I wanted to let people know there is a company that cares. I have spoken to both Joe and Lisa and they both are very nice people with 7 kids (they just had one). I guess I am blown away by them. I mean they have all those kids plus they run a great company. So yes I am enthusastic because not many are doing as them and my hat is off to them. I will continue to tell as many people as I can about them because they to me represent my American dream and I am happy to help them. I would hate the big box stores to destroy what makes America great, companies like them.
- Q: We were looking to get a few rooms professionally cleaned in our home. However, what is the biggest diff btw. Chem-dry places and regular companies, like COIT or Stanley Steemer. We know the thing about no liquid/water, but does that make a diffference? Anything else? Because the cost between the 2 is quite a bit, so we were wondering if it makes up for it. Thanks!
- Go to Angies List on the web and you should be able to find many cleaners with reviews, I have used Angies list before with good results! Good luck.
- Q: I want to buy a vacuum cleaner. So I went to OKorder and try to search for good yet cheap vacuum cleaners, and I want to buy this one:
- lol yes it still hoovers! instead of going into a bag it goes into a compartment in the hoover, which when full u can take off and empty... then put it back on... works exactly the same as a bag hoover, just more convienient and easier!
- Q: Why would they make products that will break in a few years? Is this a good policy?
- cars vacuum cleaners appliances there are just too many to list They used to make products to last. Quality used to mean something in the make of a product. Now the policy isn't quality but quantity to keep the money rolling in. :-))
- Q: I have two upright Vacuum Cleaners, a 1997 Hoover Turbopower 2, and a 1979 Electrolux 502S, and was wondering how long the drive belts usually last ? On the Turbopower, I had to change the original belt about 3 months ago, as it was starting to slip, which means its belt lasted about 14 years. Is that normal ? Or was it incredibly lucky to last so long ?As for the Electrolux, it obviously doesn't have the original belt, and since I only got it 2 days ago, and didn't ask the previous owner when she last changed it, I have no idea how old it is, only that it still works fine.
- At least 6 months to a year.
- Q: My Hoover Wind Tunnel canister vacuum cleaner, which I purchased less than two years ago, bit the dust. I took it in to the authorized Hoover repair shoppe, and it will cost more to fix the darn thing than what I paid for it (well over 230 bucks). I bought it because Consumer Reports recommended it. It worked great (when it worked) but I had to take it in to repair the latch which kept the head on the wand and that cost and now this. I read up on the internet and find all sorts of complaints about Hoover, that it is no longer the company that it used to be (since it sold out to Maytag). My question is, what is a great vacuum cleaner that will not break the bank and will last more than two years? I have a dog, four kids with a stay-at-home mother so it needs to be durable, powerful, non-dust emitting, etc. Thank you very much for your input, especially personal experience with what has worked for you. God bless.
