Q:ok my parents are saying that they want to have wood floor in both of the living room also in the hall ways and they also want rugs in the bedroomwhat do u think: Yes! Hardwood floors increase a home's value because they outlast carpet and linoleum, and tend to look more sophisticated (unless they're installing those 2 1/2 inch wide oak planks that you see in more outdated homes. I hope they don't go smaller than 3 wide because wider planks are more in style now). By the way, the 5-6 planks look more country or Victorian and can look amazing in the right house. With hardwood floors you have the option bare wood or carpets/rugs on it, but with carpet you have only the option of carpet. With hardwood floors, you can change the look of a room simply by changing the rugs (it's like how throw pillows can change the look of a couch). I have Brazilian Cherry hardwood floors in dining, kitchen, breakfast nook, hall, laundry, and foyer and everyone loves them except our dog. Our dog can't get any traction and slips and slides so we had to put down a lot of rugs just for her. I think they're just as easy/hard to clean as tile or carpet, by the way. Hope this helped!

Q:I recently blacked out and fell onto the floor face first, causing some moderate rug burns. I'm wondering if I should be concerned about scarring, and if so what I should do to prevent it. I've been keeping a coat of neosporin on it constantly so far.: Regarding the rug burn, it does not look like a very deep wound from the picture. Most scrapes are shallow but painful because a large area of skin is missing. Shallow wounds do not usually scar. My brother went headfirst over the handlebars of his bike about 6 weeks ago and had some really nasty scrapes, some of which were moderately deep, and he didn't scar at all. Just keep it clean, wash it daily with soap and warm water. Keep using the neosporin as well. That will prevent infection and keep it moisturized; both of those things will help speed up healing, and the faster things heal the less likely they are to scar. Once it's all healed there will be some residual redness in the area for probably 3-7 days, but that isn't scarring and it should go away. Regarding you passing out, I would advise a doctor's visit. Getting light headed when standing is called orthostatic hypotension and it has a number of possible causes; some of them are fairly serious, such as a heart problem. Your orthostatic hypotension, plus now an unrelated episode of fainting indicates some sort of underlying problem. Better to go and get checked, just to be safe.

Q:I'm looking to hang about door size carpet pieces on my closet walls [don't ask why] and was wondering a good adhesive to use or if I should just use nails?: Or, use a 'rod' (i.e. 'dowel rods') through the top of the 'turned over' top piece of the carpet and hang it up with ribbon or cord attached to the rod and then drill your wall and put a screw or two in and hang the ribbon off that! You could use ribbon or cord to match the colour of your room? Hope this helps:)

Q:The original carpet in the house is now trying to remove the carpet glue: Nail polish remover. The usage is similar to alcohol acetone. The effect is also good. Washing water does not require quality, good or general, as long as you can wash off all nail polish.

Q:I dropped my hot iron on my carpet. It left an iron burn mark on my brand new carpet. Do I need to replace the entire carpet? Or is there a solution to this?: Yes there is a solution~Buy an area rug and cover it! Or if your really brave and have some extra carpet left over, take a utility knife and cut the area of material out that was burned. Use the area of carpet you cut out as your 'template to cut the new piece of rug out. Hot glue the new piece in place. Purchase a good quality glue stick at your local hardware store (not the craft quality glue sticks). Also check with your carpet installer, they will also do the repair by removing the spot and bond it in place.

Q:himy apartment already has carpet, but it looks kinda ratty, so i bought an area rug.....it keeps bunching up in the same spot though.....is there any adhesive i could buy that works on carpet?: You can get rug hold from your local hardware store and it should not cost that much. Add the rug hold. If the crease stays, boil a kettle, do not drench it, but dribble a bit on the backing of the carpet that is creased after removing the rug hold.
