Q: Not huge but not small an appropriately sized den rug from an old furniture store like the dump.
It depends on what you consider big. The most common shapes are rectangle rugs that range from 4x6 feet on the smaller side to 12x20 feet on the larger side. From what I gather, you must be looking for a rug somewhere in the range of 8x10 feet to 12x20. These go for at least an average of $15,000 - $30,000 for a high quality rug. I attached a reference link to a rug search inventory set to rugs that can be bought in the 12x20 size category.
Q: I'm getting my first tattoo today. My friends were telling me that it will be tender for about 4 or 5 days. They said it would feel kinda like a rug burn or a grass burn. Does that sound right to you? Also, I'm a bit nervous about needles. Can you guys tell me how it feels to be tattooed? Thanks!
Huh, yeah, a rug burn is not a bad analogy. That's really more after a few days, though, as that's when the skin starts to shed and slough off. Until then the sunburn analogy is a little more apt. How long it hurts depends on a lot of factors. The arm tends to be less sensitive, at least the outer arm. Inner arm, on the other hand, can be very sensitive. They do indeed use needles, but those needles don't go in far - like 1/16th of an inch or so. It's more like getting scratched a bit too hard with an Xacto knife or similar. On the outer arm this is annoying until the endorphins kick in, when it becomes trivial. When my spine was done, ouch, even after I'd adjusted.
Q: How to clean up the carpet?
Use ammonia water to wash, then rinse with water. Steam iron or hot towel can also be used to gently press and iron. If it is hair. Coffee stains; 3) oxalate has toxicity, silk material carpet, use turpentine or alcohol to wipe and alkaline to clean. Please pay attention to the following points for cleaning work. Tyr to avoid sun exposure, and then to wipe it with the liquid soap added with alcohol, after the glue dry up. Once there are sags and cresets in some places, flap the carpet gently. If the wet conditions are too severe. Shoes' oil stains: Clean it with gasoline or carbon tetrachloride and other volatile solvent: 1) Wipe up from the edge of the stains, you can also ask a professional cleaning company to serve for you, then clean up with soap, this is not difficult, if the condition is serious, narrow gradually to the center, the bottom even began to rot and decay, but you must have the correct method of decontamination, dilute it in warm water when use it, so try to minimize the use. Chen stains can be scrubbed by warm water added with detergent and ammonia. Pure wool carpet should be used by citric acid. Use oxalic acid cleaning agent to dip the stains for 10-20 minutes and then clean the carpet up, after that press a book on it. Chen stains can be cleaned up by ammonia added added with borax aqueous solution. Wine stains: But: Edible oil, so as not to damage the carpet and make the stain scope expand: New stains with warm water or 10% ammonia liquid washing, mild stains can be removed by hard brush, finally cleaned with detergent.
Q: My carpet is threadbare and needs replacing. The kids are almost grown and pets live outside. Should I get a timber floor or go with carpet again. Which is easier to keep clean? I know that carpet is dirty but it also hides a lot. If you have a timber floor and then get rugs, aren't you getting the vaccuum out anyway? What do you think?
Wood floor homes are noisier. Wood is easier to pick up tracked in dirt......you keep a dust mop handy and wet mop as necessary.......but with the dust mop the wet mopping is less. If you get throw or area rugs, yes, you have to vacuum and still maintain the wood (plus I have to watch out for the fring on the rugs..LOL ) Carpets look fine if you don't get something that shows dirt every other day. Still you do need to vacuum often and have it cleaned regularly. If you are selling, wood floors garner a higher return.......until they go out of fashion again....if they do. You mentioned the kids are almost gone......babies might return....so there you have grandchildren's tricycles, etc. Then your own health........as we get older we may need walking assistence and wheelchairs and walkers roll better on wood or very short pile carpeting. Throw rugs are not for people with walking problems........we trip over them, LOL!
Q: what to do if the carpet smells like beer?
Have you ever had the experience of spilling the beer on the carpet? and if you have done that, then it is probably the residue caused by the delayed cleaning up. If there is no such experience, then it may be the material that is not promptly cleaned up or the bad glue.
Q: My carpet is AWFUL.Even the big, top of the line cleaning machines won't get out the dirt, stains, and ground in stuff in my carpet. I cannot recarpet it, I am 15 and my parents won't let me.What takes staind out? And what about dirt? Except for where furniture used tobe the carpet has gone from white to a lightl dirty beige.Any help will be wonderful, I can try anything, thank you.
Carpets don't last forever. The carpet should have been cleaned from the very begining when before you noticed it was dirty. Depending on the stains some can't get out at all so you're stuck with it. What you can do is put an area rug over your carpet. Ask your parents if that is ok. Go to WalMart and see if there is something you like and can afford. It is important to take care of things that you use. Later in life you'll see how much more expensive it is when YOU have to pay for them.
Q: I need a 10' x 6' or 11' x 7' area rug. the rug will be underneath a table and chairs with wheels. lots of traffic in this area. what should I look for? what type of material? who is a good manufacturer of area rugs?what retailer sells good ones?
first of all, are you looking for an heirloom piece? Try oriental rugs or persian rugs. Very costly. Can set you back a couple grand but will increase in value over time. you need to look behind the rug for the quality. You are looking for handstitched and lots of detail, etc. The most important characteristic for me is durability and washability. Some you can put into the washer, others need special cleaners, some are spot clean only. The second characteristic important to me is texture. I like plush soft carpets that you can walk on with your bare feet. Of course, color choice and design are important. (floral? transitional? contemporary?) I like transitional. I'm a fan of Mohawk and Shaw area rugs. You can find them at Home Depot. Reasonable prices for machine made rugs.
Q: thinking of getting 2 of the kool coat lites! (the white rug with light blue lining, and no shoulder gusset)whats your opinion, and if u own this rug, is it a good rug
No a blanket does not need a shoulder gusset. All those do is give a little extra range of movement. It's really only needed if your horse enjoys running around his paddock.
Q: My cat is 2 1/2 yrs old and I've had him since he was 6 months old. Within this past couple of months he started pooping for some reason on one of my kitchen rugs. I've tried everything to correct this. I've used Nature's Miracle, Vinegar, other pet odor removers, put food in the spot so he would avoid the area, and not only changed litters but changed to scoopable. NOTHING has helped!! At first changing the litters seem to help and I scooped it out every couple of days. My only other choice is to scoop it out every day and/or put him in a cage for a week all day long with his own litter to try and break the habit. Other than that I feel I've run out of options! HELP...I'm at my wits end!!!
ok so either you could use a different pet repellent on the carpet or try something on the carpet that cats dont like on their paws... so they dont like walking on foil or rocks. also try a sound machine to scare them. I've had a toy that when it sensed motion it scared the cat away. also to encourage your cat to use the litter box you can move his poop to the litterbox.
Q: Stuff I've bought doesn't work, and to be honest they cost too much money, is there a cheap/natural way to clean carpet effectivly?
Like the first person said, rent a cleaner from the grocery store(Krogers where I live rent them out)....You can also sprinkle baking soda on your carpets, let it sit for a few to pick up some odor, and then vacuum....that option is super cheap.
