Medium Voltage Armoured Cable

Q: So my vehicle's amp recently stopped working. It worked great after I installed it about a year before, so after testing for shorts, burnt out fuses, etc, I decided that the amp had died on me. After getting a new one-and it not working either-I checked the voltage at the end of the power cable where it hooks onto the amp. I get a 12v reading when the ignition is off, but only a 4v reading when it is in the run or aux. position. The in line fuse is good, as well as the battery (just had it checked). Any ideas as to why this is happening? As of this posting, I have NOT tried running a new power cable yet, but that is the next step if nobody has an answer. Thanks.
Try a new power cable, if i were u, I WOULD def. go with 0 guage Memphis wire, which is 95% pure copper. Its very good wire, top quality. Your old wire just burned out cuz it was probably around 10% copper.
Q: my father took away my cable so i can play the game but i just want to take the game out of it
You can risk breaking your xbox or you could also pick any random house on your street and knock at the door and ask to plug your xbox with their cable to remove the disc. Every household owns an xbox Or just stop by a friends house with your xbox
Q: I'm thinking of the power cables that connect houses to the national grid in the UK. Not only do they appear to be the green colour of copper in full sunlight, but this colour isn't evenly spread. In places there is still black. What causes this, as it's presumably not exposed copper or the colour would always be apparent?
This could simply be moss / lichen or fungus growing. the north side of the cable will have more moss on it than the south side. As the sun is over the equator and England is in the Northern Hemisphere so the sun lights the south side of the cable, and the moss grows on the darker side. This is a classic way of telling directions in a forest or paddock. Garret
Q: What is the outer diameter of the copper cable 3 * 25 + 2 * 16? What is the cable diameter of 4 * 50 + 1 * 25?

Q: I am running a LAN Cable through my walls, and I'm using the existing holes for the power lines. I'm wondering if the RF from the power line can interfere with the LAN Cables data. Thanks!
yes it can. the NEC (National Electrical Code) says they should be kept a minimum of 12 from power lines to avoid interference. Chances of it happening are pretty slim tho.
Q: My internet went down after a lightning storm. My cable modem is completely unresponsive and won't even power up, but everything else on the power strip is fine. So I am assuming the surge came through the coaxial. Someone suggested that the cable might fry any new modem I put on it, but that sounds off to me.Do I need to replace the coaxial, or will it be safe to just replace the modem?
If modem won't power up, see if you can find an identical power brick and try that. What is important is the voltage is same and amperage is at or above what the correct one is. And the connector needs to be the same. If that doesn't work, replace modem.
Q: I need 300 ft. of service entrance cable and I've been told I need 4 guage 3 wire 200 amp aluminum is what I need but I'm wondering if this 1 guage overhead line would work just as well if buried in 2electrical pvc conduit for 300 ft.
When you say 4 gauge it is unclear whether you mean #4 (rated for 80 amps) or 4/0 AWG which is rated for 200 amps. Also, I've not seen a 1 gauge overhead line. Now then, that being said, if the cable you have is a triplex in that it is three conductors braided together, then I assure you, it would be a nightmare to wrestle that 300 feet in a pipe. Secondly, your voltage loss could be great enough that you would want to probably up the wire size to 250 MCM cable which would require a larger pipe. As an answer, the plan that you currently have is going to cause you more problems than it's worth. If I can be of further help, feel free to contact me personally.
Q: trying to install new amplifier; running cable from battery through firewall to the trunk; done on several cars before; looking for advice or best practices...
Take your time and make yourself comfortable. Don't rush it or you will mess something up. Take everything apart first and give yourself a clear view of how and where you are going to run the pos and neg cables. Run the cables, test the connections and then re-assemble the interior panels. Make sure none of the wires are visible...
Q: im running 4 ga power cable through my 2003 civic and im wondering if anyone hase any good places to run it through?
I have a 2003 Civic EX and simply created a hole in the boot that has some large cable going through it right below the Glove box. I have no leaks I too have 4 ga size wire. Good luck.
Q: Okay so I am trying to upgrade my graphics card and In order ti di That I need a new Power Supply Unit. The PSU I was looking at is a 850 watt one and it has six pin connectors. The problem is all my componets are 4 pin connectors. If I get the new power supply can I somehow get a 6 pin connector to fit in a four pin like a adapter or something. BTW in order for the graphics card to function I need a six pin but all my other stuff in 4. So is there a way to work that out
Not correct, most modern power supplies, especially a 850W one, have the 4 pin Molex power connectors. Also, they do have the 6 pin PCI-E (video) power connectors as well... Don't mix up the PCI-E 6 pin vs the 4 pin Molex power, they are two totally different things...
