- Q: I have a 1990 chevy c1500 2wheel drive. I bought it not running. I have found the problem and it the tbi injectors are not hooked up. The 4 wires on the 2 injectors are red and the 4 wires going to the tbi are red, blue, green, white. what wires go were? Thanx for all your help.
- The red and white wires are the power to each injector and are actually hooked to each other in the harness. These 2 wires should be hot when you turn the key on. The green and blue wires are the grounds that lead back to the ecm. The red and blue wires go to the passenger side injector (red is far left as you face the vehicle). The white and green go to drivers side (white on left as you face it)
- Q: I want to connect one of my rear sony speakers along the baseboard to my receiver. The specs say that the wire comes with 4 terminal blocks, with 4 connections on each terminal. My question is what will connect to what? Will the speaker attach the the flat wire cable that will attach to the original speaker cable which will connect to the receiver? It will be much appreciated.
- You will end up using a combination of regular speaker wire and the flat wire. Run the flat wire along the baseboard. The ends of the flat wire should go as close to the receiver and speakers as it will reach. Attach the terminal blocks to the flat wire. Connect the receiver's right and left rear speaker outputs to the terminal block at the receiver end of the flat cable using two short lengths of two conductor speaker wire. Then do the same thing at the speaker end of the flat wire. Since the flat wire cannot connect directly to the receiver or speakers, you need to use regular speaker wire to connect the flat wire to the equipment at each end. Since the flat wire is four conductors, it can carry both the right and left rear speaker signal at the same time.
- Q: 1) How does the type of wire affect resistance?2) How does the length of wire affect resistance?3) How does the diameter of the wire affect resistance?4) How does temperature affect resistance?
- 1) How does the type of wire affect resistance? Wires can be made of different materials , and each material has its own resistance properties, some materials have high resistance and others have low resistance. 2) How does the length of wire affect resistance? Think of it this way , when increasing the length of the wire it will be harder for the electrons to pass through, which means higher resistance it will be. 3) How does the diameter of the wire affect resistance? Small diameter wires have high resistance , because when the diameter of the wire is small it will be hard for the electrons to pass through the wire, unlikely if it has big diameter then it has small resistance because now the electrons can move easy because of its big diameter. 4) How does temperature affect resistance? Temperature also effects wires resistance, when the temperature in the wire increases the resistance will also increase, to understand why imagine your self holding a wire and buring some area in it , what will happen is the heat will melt that section and cut the wire so its like an open circuit which means very high resistance (No electrons will pass through the wire). Good Luck.
- Q: Just got a 540 wat sound system but the speaker wires are only 5 feet, so I want to add about another 10 or 15 feet.
- The tape won't make a good sufficient - stable connection. A unfastened connection gets very heat. #4 can carry quite some amperage. acquire some copper - chop up bolt - kearney connectors, which would be put in with 2 wrenches, it could have a divider interior the middle so each cord would be clamped in my view, (might desire to be tight) and wrap a minimum of three wraps of a good grade of electric powered tape - a brilliant ironmongery shop can help you.
- Q: I am trying to hook up my motorcycle turn signals but am having trouble with the wiring. Off of each signal stem comes a red wire (positve) and black wire (negative). Then coming form my bike I have a purple wire, blue wire, and green wire. I was messing around with the connections and was able to get all my signals to light up, but not in the fashion i need, like blinking correctly. Any suggestions? Do I need to split the wires? Does one wire go to the left signal and one to the right?
- There are many model specific forums out there that would probably be a better place to ask this question. If this is a common model of motorcycle I would try looking for one. To hazard a guess, the green wire should be split and connected to the black wires. The purple and blue would then be the positive. Trial and error would tell you left and right. If you have a multimeter it would eliminate the guesswork.
- Q: The t-stat comes with EIT module. that wires to the t-stat and the furnace. I'm having trouble with the module to furnace wiring.
- from the thermostat you match 1,2,3 wires to the module, from the module to the furnace. - R to R (this is your 24V hot) W to W (furnace 24V input G to G (fan for cooling 24V input) Y to Y (cooling 24V input), there should also be another wire that connects with this that goes to the condensing unit C to C ( Common - must have this connected for IAQ to work) as with the Y, there should be another wire to connect to this that goes to the condensing unit. - maybe W2 to W2 if you have a 2 stage furnace, you'll know if you have a 2 stage furnace because the W2 connection on the furnace will be present. - maybe Y2, if you have 2-stage cooling. if you have a humidifier connect both wires from the humidifier selinoid valve to each of the HUM terminals.

- Q: I attempted to change a bathroom fan to a new one with the help of a friend. He disconnected all the wiring without paying attention to what he was doing and what was wired where. We have a set of wires coming from somewhere (I presume the fuse box) to the fan that is hot regardless of the switch being on or off. That has a black, white and naked wire in it. Then we have another wire that comes from the switch that has black, white and naked as well. The fan has black, white and green. Can someone please tell me how to connect these as we have tried everything and the only thing that works is wired to the constant hot which of course won't allow us to turn the fan off with the switch...
- You need to pull your wall switch to see how it is wired. I suspect the original wiring used the black and white on the switch itself which would make the white actually black or hot instead of neutral. If on one side of the wall switch the black wire is wired and the other the white then you need to wire the black from the fuse panel to the black going to the switch. Then the white coming from the switch to the black on the fan. The white on the fuse panel wire would be wired to the white from the fan and all grounds(bare and green) wire together.
- Q: i have a 00 gmc yukon and tried installing my cd deck. i pulled off the original harness from the stock deck radio and now its just all wires (its my first so i didnt know), i connect the alpine deck wires and tried to connect them all together. i had a few figure out, except a small noise coming from my stock tweeters every time i step on the pedal. then my speed odometer sensor was going with the bass of my subs... whats wrong? can someone find me a chart of what color wires supposed to go where? thanks for your help
- Hey bro why dont you buy a wiring harness from best buy or OKorder it can cost u like 10 bucks or so and it will be alot easier to connect the head unit. That noise that u are hearing is the ground, that ground that u have is either no good enough or it is loose. Good Luck
