- Q: i want to re carpet my bedrooms, where could i find carpet besides a carpet shop?
- Cassy, if you want new carpet then you will have to go to a carpet store. Some of the larger companies have end of line run out sales for carpets that they are replacing with a new pattern or colour so it's always worth asking, you might get last years carpet at a bargain. You could also look at some auction houses for carpet bargains. If you are okay with second hand carpet then have a look at some of the trader newspapers, we have trading post here in Melbourne and they are online too, Australia wide I think on the net. Some people will sell their old carpet when replacing it so check around. Also, you could contact some carpet installers because they are always ripping out old carpet when laying down new stuff. Ask them what they do with the carpet they are getting rid of. They might onsell it somewhere if it's in good shape. You can always jump on line and google 'second hand carpet'. I got a few hits when I did this so you might find something in your area.
- Q: At about 8-9 this morning. Now they are pretty dried at 1 pm. I wanted to now re-arrange the furniture, but how long should i wait? its pretty dried, but i was still wondering?
- Trust me, a rug takes ages to dry completely. I am a rug manufacturer in Agra, India and we dry out a rug for 6-7 days in the sun before taking them inside. And that's when the sun in Agra shines at 47 - 48 Degree Celsius You should probably leave it out in the sun for 2-3 days more, since 2 days have already passed from posting of this question. It will not only dry out the rug but increase its longevity as well
- Q: I have just gotten a large area rug and Ihave put it on a bare floor. Do I need to put something under the rug. It is not slipping or anythhing.
- nope-its good
- Q: i sold a rug in craiglist for $500 now shes saying the rug smell what should i do??
- Did you smoke or have pets in your home? Unless you misrepresented the rug to the buyer in some way, such as not telling her the rug was the cat's bathroom or not telling her the rug had been flooded with dog urine, you are not obligated to do a thing. Often, and I really mean often, some people will experience buyer's remorse and want their money back. If you know the rug was in good condition and you represented it as such, don't give the money back. They might take you to court, but again they will have to prove you lied about the rug when you sold it to them. This aggravation is part of doing business.
- Q: Why are area rugs so expensive?!?
- Hey minstine, I am a flooring associate from The Home Depot and selling rugs is part of my job, but not in this answer. If you're referring to to certain area rugs that are say oriental, large, or just have a lot of patterns in them, they can be pretty steep sometimes in price. The reasons vary a lot, but lets say you pick out a nice Persian rug thats 5' x 8', and you saw an almost similar one at another store, heck even almost exact. Upon actually seeing it or having a trained salesperson there, you can see it is way more money. If you actually feel the materials, colors, and patterns in them, you can see why the better time and features are put into the more expensive rug. Unless you are really actually there and feeling the rug, its hard to spend a lot of money on another rug thats cheaper you see online. Here is a list of reasons why rugs seem to be so darn pricey sometimes 1. Thread counts in the rug (1 million per sq. foot or higher means $$) 2. Type of material (wool are more expensive than say nylons) 3. Who made it (man-made is more expensive than a loom) 4. How and where it was shipped (imported or made locally) There are other factors as well, but those are the big ones I tell my customers about when they are shopping around for rugs. Hope this helps you out, aboveaveragejoe
- Q: I'm thinking of buying carpet tile as a cheaper way to make a rug. I haven't been to home depot or lowes yet seeing as I just came up with this idea. On the store website however I can only find the pricing of cases of 35 square feet and such. I only need roughly a three tile by three tile square. So, I was wondering if they also sold it by the piece?
- well thats just standard practice to list the pricing per box... you should be able to purchase by the square(piece) Also might wanna try your local carpet store.carpet squares are typically more of a comercial grade carpet,so you could also look in the phone book under commercial flooring and talk them into selling some of their extras. hope that helped.anymore questions, feel free to ask. i have been a ceramic tile installer for 10 years and did my share of carpet too. jarod
- Q: I WON RED CARPET PASSES AND I WAS WONDERING YOU ANYONE KNEW WHAT quot;RED CARPET PASSESquot; ARE! ARE THEY TO WALK THE CARPET OR ARE THEY TO SIT ON THE SIDE? PLEASE LET ME KNOW! THANX!
- i saw somewhere that you get to walk the carpet, didnt you check before entering whatever competition it was? you dont have to have a pass to be on the sides of a red carpet so you could be in luck walk down the carpet and if your old enough have a few drinks b4 you do lol.i wish i could tell u 100% but my gut tells me that u can walk it,ive seen ppl walking on the carpet who have nothing to do with the event in the past
- Q: I'm looking for a soft shag rug that is orange and maybe 5' by 8'. any suggestions?
- Orange shag was really in back in the 60s. Check some yard sales? or retro or vintage stores. If nothing turns up, hooking a rug does go pretty fast once you get started and you can make tiles and just keep adding to them as go go.
- Q: How to clean the carpet wax?
- With a butter knife scrape the wax loose (when scraping Bebel carpets to light a little; it is easy to damage the coil). Compacting loose wax and hanging up the remaining wax blocks.
