Polished Porcelain Tile CT26604

Q:My new home has a kitchen with glazed ceramic tiles covering most of the walls. The colour is basically honey brown, but there‘s a hideous purple border (in the same tile size shape) running horizontally vertically all over the place - I‘d say that 20% of the tiles are this colour.I want to reduce all the tiles to one (new) colour. Two guys (both pros) have this to say:GUY 1: Cheapest solution (and least noisy/disruptive) is to use a ‘glass enamel paint‘ over the tiles. I went online and found several manufacturers of this stuff.GUY 2: Scoffed at this and said there was no other way than retiling the whole kitchen.Guy 1 is adamant that it can be done, and the job will last if enough care is taken in preparing the surface. Is he right?Has anyone tried this ‘re-enamelling‘ technique, and were the results OK?Thanks!
Just my 2 cents. A couple of months ago I saw a bathroom with painted tile and it looked really different. It looked really cheap. I think you would be disappointed if you spent the time and money to paint the tiles.
Q:My kitchen is 15x11 and I am buying 18x18 tiles I need to know how many to buy.
Rob S has the only correct answer. My only additional comment is that you should allow for more waste. I would order 90 tiles.
Q:According to the Home Depot book I should NOT install on top of existing vinyl tiles but according to the Lowes website I can if it is smooth and in good condition(which it is). It would be easier to install on top but I would like to do it the way that is the best.
Wow, okorder I have installed over 250,000 square feet in both residential and commercial.
Q:I had new stone tile laid in my bathroom. 18 x 18 pieces, diagonally laid. One piece by the edge must have been stepped on by one of the tile layers as they were leaving and it got pushed down, so it‘s not level with the rest of the tiles by a small fraction. Its not noticeable if you walk on it with shoes, but if you walk on it barefoot or if you get down and feel it with your hands, there is clearly a noticeable difference. The flooring company refuses to come back and fix it claiming I did it. The piece is on the edge butting up against carpet from the bedroom. Is there any way I can make this tile level myself to avoid the hassle of trying to sue or file complaints against the flooring company? Maybe cut out that one piece without damaging and just put a new layer of the cement underneath it? I don‘t know. I‘ve never done tiling before.
you can pick up a small tile saw at any tile /flooring outlet.it has a serrated edge for cutting into the grout that is around the tile.once you have removed the grout you should be abel to insert a wide blade putty knife under the tile and tap it in easy to loosen the tile once it is free clean the area of any adhesive and reset the tile.it is a shame that the co who did the install refused to come back and do the repair.if i were you i would file a complaint with the better business bureau in your area.good luck
Q:How would one grout mosaic tiles on standing mirror?
Grout application on a mirror is exactly the same process as grouting a tile floor, back-splash, counter top, or table. Since the mirror is standing, I'd be sure that the mirror won't topple over when applying the grout because it has to be floated into the crevices between the tiles / tile pieces. If possible I'd suggest laying the mirror flat, either on the floor or on a sturdy worktable A grout float is basically a block shaped pushing tool used to force the grout between the tiles. Hold the float at an angle against the tiled surface and use a firm sweeping motion across the tile to push/force the grout into all the nooks, crannies, cracks and openings between the tiles. You'll have to work fairly quickly because grout becomes hard to work once it starts drying out. Work in a diagonal pattern and go back over any low or missed areas. Allow the grout to sit for 20-30 minutes. You'll know the grout is starting to cure when there is a light haze on the tile surface. Using a sponge and a bucket of clean water lightly buff the tile to remove the haze. This step may have to be repeated once or twice to be sure that all of the excess grout has been removed from the tile surface. If you want to seal the grout and tile, there are a number of sealant products available but you'll need to wait 3 or 4 days before applying in order to allow the grout to cure properly.
Q:Some people say that only natural tiles have radiation. Cheap certainly not a natural stone, there will be no radiation, is that right?
Tile tiles, porcelain products, with kaolin firing, how can there be radiation? Natural stone and tiles can be seen, tiles have glaze, the back of the burning lines. Natural stone is not, well distinguish Your supplementary can not use such a complex sentence Mody, it is very hard to read, you may be a good level of literature, but I can not ah, 55555 As long as the tile is fired without radiation Another: home is not recommended with natural stone, including your windowsill, over the beam, countertops and other positions. Comrades also say that point, lesbian may have no children in this life said No way to buy a wooden floor, in fact, pure concrete floor is not ugly, wipe, and very effective, get hold of a modern design Kazakhstan Understand your feelings, do not worry, if you really do not worry, find a mechanism to detect it
Q:currently have vinyl tile glued to concrete on grade. Want to install bamboo floor / engineered wood. Can we go on top of existing vinyl?
Possibly. The vinyl tile must be well installed (not coming loose or bubbling or open seams, etc.). If the vinyl tile is a no wax or smooth surface, it may still need to be prepped with a palm sander and 80 grit just enough to give it some tooth. And finally, make certain to contact both manufacturers' reps or technical services to make certain that the new glue is compatible with both the vinyl and the bamboo... and to make certain that this endeavor will not void your warranty. Good luck.
Q:I was told that a granite tile countertop is a cheap way to upgrade countertops. can I install granite tile over the existing laminate countertop? do I need any to install any material between the laminate countertop and the granite tiles? thanks
This Site Might Help You. RE: Can I install granite tiles over a laminate countertop? Q:I have a small bathroom (toilet only) that has carpet that smells and I want to replace it with 12 X 12 inch tiles. Is there a type of tile that will make the installation simple (avoid grout) and is easy to cut and easy to installHigher quality but simple installation is desired.
Sorry , like T J said all tile needs grout. Dirt and debris will collect down in the groves if you dont.. Have you thought of a good laminate that has the tile look? Just need a skil saw or table saw (best ) to cut them. they can.Since it classified as a non wet area laminates will work fine in a 1/2 bath.. Less work putting them in too. Any flooring questions you can e mail me through my avatar.. GL
Q:What are the pros and cons for using porcelain tiles or ceramic tiles?
Tile terminology could be complicated. maximum varieties of tiles that are created from clay or a mix of clay and different components, then kiln-fired, are seen to be a factor of the better type observed as “Ceramic Tiles”. those tiles could be chop up into 2 communities, porcelain tiles and non-porcelain tiles. those non-porcelain tiles are often observed as ceramic tiles by ability of themselves, break away porcelain tiles.for further information bypass to the link that's given under
