Q: 10x7 ft room (70 square ft)I already took up the linoleum which was hard to do and there is some linoleum backing on most of the floor I cant get up that they will removethey will lay something on the floor that will prevent the tile from crackinggluing down the tile and grouting and sealing itI am in the southgrand total $1000.00 labor labor and materials is $15.00 a square ft: it is cheap if they are lifting the toilet and vanity then replacing them, the sub floor should be glued and screwed down, does this cover the adhesive, sub floor, grout and tile? if you are supplying and reinstalling fixtures then it should be around the $500 price range

Q: hey guys my house just got renovated a few days ago... it seems like some tiles have tough stains on it. is there a type of detergent or anything that removes it off? it looks well ugly and makes the surface rough... it's on both my floor and wall tiles: Muriatic Acid is what you want, but use heavy rubber gloves and use sparingly. Don't let it spatter on carpets or furniture. Don't let it spatter on metal. it is a weak acid and will bubble up when it gets onto cement. To neutralize it, you can use a solution of bicarbonate of Soda and water. White vinegar may well work also and you might want to try that one first since it has less precautions that would come with its use. You would neutralize that the same way. If your tile grouting has been sealed, you will have to redo that.

Q: Ok so our bathroom is old and crappy and the faucet in the shower always come off. I was taking a shower and when i went to put back the body wash it fell and must have landed on the faucet and the faucet came off and two tiles along with it. The tiles are broken into little pieces. Q: How can I find out how many tiles I need to buy?: Measure and figure out the square footage of your kitchen floor.

Q: I need to measure my tiles to get them cleaned but they all need the size in squares how do i do that, thanks in advance: Measure the tile area, both length and width, multiply the length by the width, to obtain the square footage of the area to be cleaned. The standard for a 'square' is 100 square feet. If you have an area that is not a rectangle or square, break your area into square or rectangle shapes, then multiply each area and add the total of all areas. Example: largest area, 12'.5 X 12' = 150, next area, 5'X 6' =30, 144+30= 180 square feet or 1.8 squares.

Q: i have vinyl tile in my dinning room(high traffic) its new but its not brillant ,and i saw a mantenance guy last night in wallmart using a buffer machine to pollish the tile..my question what kind of pad the used?they use any quimical with this pad?..how often this treatment its needed?: With Vinyl tile, you can go to home depot or menards and buy a floor finish specifically for the tile. It'll be like mop and glo only more permenant. It goes on with a sponge mop or an actual floor refinishing pad or I find that the applicators they sell for painting walls that have a replacable sponge and a plastic handle work the best. Just make sure your floor is very clean and dry. Apply in one direction, overlapping each pass. If you see lines, then you could buff it out. You can apply it as often as once every year or just as needed. Just make sure to read the label on the back because sometimes you have to strip off the old finish to put on a new. It depends on the product, though. They also make a product called renewal that can go over any old finish. You could check into that too.

Q: I just remodeled a home and I am having a hard time cleaning the newly istalled tile. I mop and mop but the tile still looks dirty. I guess its all the powder and sand that was created by the remodeling. Am I supposed to use some type of acid or buffer?: Sometimes when tile is installed and the water that was use to shape the joints and remove the excess grout is not changed as often as it should have been, this leaves a bloom on the tile surface. It is THIS (thin haze of grout residue) that is actually dirty not the tile. You must remove this and all will be well. Use a VERY, VERY, VERY,VERY light mixture of muriatic acid and water and clean the entire tile surface. Read and follow cautions on product label

Q: We had a piping problem in out house and we need to find self stick tiles. We honestly cant find any good places to find these tiles. If anyone can give good suggestions on where to find some self stick tiles? I live in dearborn Michagan.: Do you have a Lowes in your area?

Q: i built a new shower, and plan on tiling up to the ceiling. if i tile the ceiling itself, someone told me this would be a chore to clean. any experience in this? the ceiling is cement board right now, what are my other options? BTW, the tile is 4x4 travertine.: I would indeed tile the ceiling. Just be sure the bathroom is well vented with all the hot steam in the room. Just search for good easy cleaners. simple windex on the ceiling? not much soap up there?
