- No you shouldn t.. Dirt, dust and every day stuff will accumulate in the joints and be almost impossible to get out. All tiles are designed to have a space, some smaller and some larger than others. The grout the goes between the tiles is part of the system to make it stable. Sealing the grout is a major help in keeping it clean and stain free, if this is your concern. Porcelain is made to have a sanded grout along with a space of 1/8 to about 1/4 inch. Or 3/6 mm This spacing will also help make up for minor tile sizes that will throw you off if you try to but them tight. - Q:I have some old dark tile in our entry way. It‘s not an option right now to replace it, so I‘d like to make it look better if possible. When I mop it and it looks nice and shiny. Then when it dries it looks dull. Is there any way to make it shiny all the time?Thanks
- You could try to re-seal the tile. Is your tile glazed? Glazed tiles should never need to be sealed, as the glaze is the sealer. Do a water test first to see if your tile is soaking up water. Put a little water on the tile if it turns dark, then your tile needs to be re-sealed. If you just want to make it shiny, you can try a topical sealer. Your local tile/flooring store should be able to help you pick the best one. There is also something called a 'wear layer' which is an acrylic floor finish that helps to keep you from wearing through the sealer. Again, your local tile store can help you with this step.

- Ok, easy answers. Stuff between the tile = Grout Stuff that lines the space between tiles and tub = Silicone sealant. Its not hard to replace, especially if your just spot filling. Go to a home improvement store, ask to be shown to the selection of grout (Growt) and match the color. Also buy sealant for the grout, as it keeps the moisture out. As for the Silcone sealant, just take a safety knife, cut into it, peel it off like a strip. Make sure you clean up the area before you reapply. You will need a tube of silicone, a caulk gun, and a safety knife. Simply load the tube in the gun, and cut a 45 degree (ish) angle in the tip of the tube. Face the hole you cut into the area, and press the caulk gun trigger. Slowly move down the edge of the tub, until you reach the end. About 5 inches before you reach the end, behind the trigger, is a switch that releases pressure on the tube from the gun, and slows the flow to a stop. Once the grout dries, in about 24 hours, apply the sealant with the brush bottle it should come with. It is a clear coat. You CANNOT get the walls wet during this process, or else you will seal water inside your walls, and youll be looking at a much bigger job later.

- I don't think that particular size tile will be outdated but certain styles will. The size of tile should depend on the size of the room. That's why you see smaller 6 tile in bathrooms (well when bathrooms used to be less than 700 square feet...) and the large 12 tiles in the kitchen. Everyone used to have that smooth white tile on their floors, now it looks like something from your Grandma's Florida retirement home. People are all about the granite countertops now. Sure they're the style now but in 10-20 years they will look just as sad as the avocado laminate of the 70s and the small tile and grout patterns of the 90s. Wall panelling, omg let's not go there! America is all about the bigger, better and newer you know...nothing remains appreciated for long anymore. Basically the size is fine, probably going to be around for a while. But I wouldn't go with a crazy ultra hip style if you plan on selling or not resenting your home's outdated look within the next 10 years.

- I had a house that was ceramic tile through out-I loved it. You know when your tile is dirty and when it's clean its very clean. You'll be able to clean up spills without freakin. Plus you can use rugs and take them out and clean both sides when they are dirty. It's easy to switch out decor- and it always smells good. No lingering food smells. I really think you'd want to pick out a neutral natural looking color with some depth in it so keep the kid-o's from slipping, but when it's time for a new puppy or pet-no sweat-
