- Depends on the exact type of tile. Some porcelain and other hard bodied tile you ll burn the bits and possible the motor itself. If it was a smaller area you had to cut out, it would possible work. - Q: Anyone know if that type of ceiling tile has asbestos? Unsure of the year built. It has a texture to it which is why I‘m worried about it.
- I don't know that they made ceiling tile out of that but if your that worried then call a Professional to test it. That stuff will kill you don't take unnecessary chances.

- The cost to demo the old tile is insignificant in the face of doing the job twice. Do it right. Get rid of the old tile and take the old drywall off as well. It easier and less costly to do it right the 1st time.

The joint will be hidden behind the tile. Use the blue or green coloured drywall it's better to resist the humidity.

- Stone tiles and I recommend sealing twice before installing . should not need to be sealed again w/ the newer penetrating sealers. This make a great backsplash in looks and durability. I have several picts of some I ve done over the years if you need an idea of how it ll look. The grout sealed 72 hrs after grouting giving the stone actually 3 coats.
