- Q:Rather than step into his litter box, that stays clean because I know how picky cats are, he'll crap on my bathroom rugs with his litter box not a foot away from him. Is it a territorial thing? Would he stop if I bought new rugs? I'd have already thrown his butt outside, but he's declawed. I hate having to keep my bathroom rugs folded over all the time because of the little stinker.
- I went through this exact same problem. I moved my cats litter box from the bathroom to the office about 6 months ago. She started going to the bathroom to use the restroom and used the rug instead. The vet told me that I shouldn't have moved the litter box, so I won't do that again. I found that a cat will not go to the restoom on reynolds wrap. Just lay it out flat and leaving it laying there for awhile. It takes several weeks to get them back into the habit of going in the correct place. Also, clean the rug well or remove it from the bathroom. I actually threw the rug out and bought another one. I figure there really is no way to get the smell completely out of the rug. Good Luck! ( oh I also kept my cat in the office for a few days so she would get use to going in the litter box and not in the bathroom. )
- Q:We received a carpet bid for a room that is $2641.00. The next number is 52.44 installed and carpet only 39.44. I'm assuming this is yards? Does that sound like an average price for a slightly above average carpet?For about 200 square feet, is $7/sq. ft an average cost for tile and $1700 total including materials? Then still I have to pay labor separate. It is a unique tile in a unique shape, not square but rectangular.
- The carpet , I need more info on since most of those numbers don t make sense with out knowing the s/f of the room to be carpeted. The 39.44 and the 52.44 sound like a square yard price and to give you a price like that is against the law. All carpet must be given in a s/f price format.. I used to have carpet that installed at 52.44 a s/y but it was excellent carpeting.. So I don t know about the carpet until I get more info, but its sounding high.. The tile could be 7$ a s/f if its unique like you say.. The installed price with the materials is a bit high but not totally out of line at all. Your installation area could explain that.. - Q:I noticed that my carpet has holes in it. there are tiny areas where the carpet strands are gone/eaten/disappeared/burned/etc and i don't know what it is. Also, around the area it is black or has black stuff left on the carpet (light brown carpet color). Any ideas as to what it is? How to stop it? Fix it? [also the only pets i have are fish]
- there's a few things that live in carpets or breed there. but moths are the ones that are famous for holes. the larvae eat the rug then become moths. If you're lucky a little flea spray and the worms will come up so you can see them. start using boric acid or diatomaceous earth (buy the kind for this use not the pool filter material). sprinkle on carpet and brush deep with broom. Vacuum more regularly and put down more boric acid every few months at least.
- Q:I was hoovering today and I took a closer look at the carpet when I realised my carpet is full of little white cm long bugs. I searched on google and they are saying it is carpet bettle larve. But looki g at the pictures of these beetle larve they look nothing like them. To give you a picture they are pure white cilinder shapes that have a sort of tuft on each end. They are a cm long and I'd expect a mm in diameter. Please help

- you could put baggies under the legs of your furnisher to remove the fear of wood finishings leaching off your furnisher and onto the carpet,,or rust due to medal legs. The best way to tell if there's moisture in a carpet is you rub the back of your hand on it and then look at your hand,,,no moisture seen is a good sign,,,then blow on your hand,,if it feels very cold,,,there may be minute amounts of moisture in carpet. also,,,you didn't have your carpets shampoo'd,,you had them extracted.

- Are you trying to do it yourself? I've seen it done, I know you need a few special tools. Also, if you have to do a seam, then it has to be done right or the seam will show. Maybe contact a installer. I think Lowes and Home Depot have contractors who do that sort of thing.
