- To get up the old adhesive the best product to use that won't harm the surface is charcoal lighter fluid. Buy an Indoor Outdoor carpet and adhere this with an exterior Liquid Nail. This should do the job!!! Good Luck!!!

- As an owner of gray horses, I can say that when I have them stabled, they get dirty much faster (overnight) so I would put a light sheet/rug on while stabled in an attempt to keep at least some part of their body clean. Our barn was quite cold in the winter, even with the doors shut and horses in. The horses that were show horses and under lights, needed to be rugged to be warm. The boarded horses had lighter blankets, but still needed to be covered in some manner. some people feel that keeping a horse warmly covered all winter will decrease the amount of hair grown. Studies do not support this, but the number of hours of bright light does indeed inhibit the growth of the winter hair coat.

- Your carpet is probably Polyester, made from recycled plastic bottles. It is often times made to look like Nylon carpet, however, it does not stand up to traffic and eventually will not stand up at all. This carpet is fairly inexpensive and therefore attractive to landlords. They are reluctant to have expensive Nylon carpet installed because the chances of it being permanently abused and stained by renters is great. We find quality carpet in only the higher end apartments where the people who can afford the higher rent are normally better educated and easier on the premises as a whole. You, no doubt are a careful renter, however, the law of averages is at work here. Call a carpet cleaner and purchase a grooming rake from them, it may help somewhat.
