Q: My darling little pup managed to get ahold of a box of donuts and ate them while sitting on my new leather couch. The dog is fine, but I have powdered sugar stains all over. Best ideas for getting them off without harming the leather?
Wipe the powdered sugar off with a damp cloth. You can clean your leather with saddle soap. Good Luck!
Q: I am currently visiting Japan and am interested in a couple jobs on base and possibly staying here for a while if I can find a decent good paying job. My question: what is the most efficient means of getting a SOFA stamp to be able to apply for the jobs on base here...?Does anyone have experience with my situation?I am visiting my Japanese wife on my passport and have base access as I am now inactive military. One place (MWR) on base told me it would take 4-6 weeks after I turn in the paperwork to be sponsored by them to get a job. What other possibilities are there or jobs people know of that they need positions filled?Thank you all so much for your time and thoughts.
You have to wait until you are offered a job on base from what I understand. There's no way around it. Here is the link for jobs: ask.afpc.randolph.af.mil/ Just go to job search and then pick Japan as the country. Maybe there's something open that your qualified for. P.S. Just wondering...........If your wife is Japanese, why do you need SOFA status to stay in the country for awhile? Haven't you applied for a spouse visa? ==================== ADD: I'm not sure I understand. If your wife is Japanese, then you would be eligible for a spouse visa through the Japanese government. It shouldn't be too hard to get one. SOFA status wouldn't even be an issue with that, in my opinion. But hopefully someone with more experience in Japan spouse visas will answer your question for you. ADD #2!: I understand your question now. I'm a dummy sometimes! (^-^) Your saying that if you have a spouse visa then you would be considered like a local national and therefore you would not be eligible for certain jobs that may require a security clearance, etc.........I'm not sure how to answer that for you though, the only thing I can suggest is contacting the Civilian Personnel office of the nearest military base to you and they should be able to answer that. Good Luck!(^-^)
Q: I have a 115lb german shepard and he always goes on the sofa. I am getting a new sofa in a week so i need a solution fast!!!!! Thanks for any help you can give. PLease answer ASAP!
Well this is all about training your dog. You should get a collar that has teeth in it. What this collar does it gives the dog a bite like his or her mother. get a leash and show the dog where you want it to lay a pillow or dog bed. This is where he or she can be all the time when you want it to be there. Show the dog were this is. Only tell the dog once to lay there every time the dog gets up without your permission put the dog back and tug on the leash so the collar bites the dog. Don't tell the dog they know what you want they are just testing you as dogs like to be the leader and you must show the dog you are the boss not them. The collar doesn't hurt them just shows them you are the leader of the pack. You need to make sure every one in the house does the same. Doing this repeated the excat same way everyday the dog will soon do it on comand.
Q: in the uk,other than scs dfs land of leather.im looking for a real nice one but cant think of any other places, not cheap tacky ones tho.(not to be snobby tho, even tho i prob sound it)eek...stylish funky and modern.......x

Q: I am looking for a leather sofa or sectional that will fit a small person or a small room with out taking it over.
Leather sofas come in all sizes and shapes. You might be more used to seeing those big over plumped behemoths but most comtemporary leathers are smaller and sleeker. You just need to expand your furniture shopping range to more contemporary stores and not the traditional stores.
Q: this first one is natural colour and is fabric
first one. leather is reallyyy ugly when it gets old and its used too much
Q: Please help me, Billy and I have a caramel/butterscotches leather living room suite. Our house is small and we are looking to paint it so that it appears larger. I don't want to use a dark color which has been suggested with this color before..is there a lighter alternative so I can compliment and still get the feel of a larger living area
Something in the tan family or a light taupe would work. I would also suggest painting the trim (baseboards, window and door frames) the same colour if the space is really small as this will give the room the appearance of more space. You could use an eggshell paint on the walls (low shine, but not flat) and a semigloss paint (low sheen) on the trim in the same colour to give the trim subtle definition. And if you don't like it... it's only paint - you can buy some more. Have fun!
Q: anybody tried removing coffee stains from white fabric?I have removed dried ink stains before but never coffee .Should I buy a stain remover solution or try those easy baking soda -vinegar ideas? If you have done it your suggestion will be very welcome.Thanks.
you okorder /.. the link above discusses different fixes for different stains/sofas.
Q: Now more clearly, how would you change the color of the pale yellow-green sofa by painting the walls? What would be 6 good color options for the wall, that would affect the hue, value, or saturation of the yellow-green?
I think you could warm it up by using an orange or red colour. When I say orange, I mean a copper or burnished orange (pumpkin spice or even terra cotta) - nothing like those bright orange garbage bags! A soft green (like a moss or lichen colour) would also look nice. Blues would make the room look cool and yellows - well it might be over kill. I would go to the renovation store (home depot, home hardware, Rona...) and pick colours that you like. You could even do just an accent wall with a dark red or orange, behind the couch, and then find a complimentary colour to paint the remaining walls. That is what I did - a deep merlot (red wine) colour with an off white that has a pinky undertone. I never thought I would use PINK on my walls but it compliments well and is very soothing and warm. Go figure! Anyway, go and experiment! Have fun with it! Bring deep luxurious colours into your home! It'll help tone down the sofa if that is your goal!
Q: Which word is more posh: Sofa, couch or settee?
