- Go to the library a check a book out on upholstery. I have one but it would take me forever to type out the instructions. You will need a staple gun and lots of staples and a sewing machine. I reupholstered a sectional sofa with 2 recliners at both ends. I used a heavy duty drapery fabric. It turned out great! I have since given it away and down sized to a love seat and large chair with ottoman.

- Q:I'm looking at this coffee table, matching end tables, and matching tv stand. I really like the clean transitional pottery barn look for my new apartment. The floors are a light tan, the walls will be probably also a light cream (its a small place so I want open-feeling colors). My problem is finding the sofa color to go. - Sorry but no. The contemporary and traditional do not compliment each other but instead fight each other for dominance. It's too confusing to look at. You will have to choose between the styles and I think that is where your problem is. The traditional sofa is nice and makes a bold statement and would also require other bold, curvy rounded and oversized traditional pieces to complete the room. The contemporary ones are also nice (just not my choice) but require more sleek modern pieces to complete the look of straight sleek lines. edit: strawberry thats a good question. you don't have to settle for the same ol boring matching sets just choose pieces that are in a complimentary color and in the same proportion as that sofa. Big and chunky or even a smaller scale would work as long as you still have those nice rounded curves. Tie them together with throws and pillows. For example if you have a brown sofa and a green loveseat, place green cushions on the sofa and brown on the loveseat and always throw in a third splash of color for added interest. Think in the lines of the furniture for accessories.
- Q:I've tried everywhere and no one seems to sell them. I have a leather sofa and loveseat that have been used and abused .Rather than buy new, I'd like to just put some slipcovers on. But the type they are doesn't seem to be available in slipcovers. I've googled, no luck. Most sites that sell them say they don't make them for these type of sofas. Any suggestions? - Q:The living room set I like does not come with a recliner or chair, and I'd really like at least 6 seats. I'm either thinking about 2 loveseats and a sofa or 2 sofas and a loveseat. I haven't seen any living room or pictures with either of these arrangements, so I thought I'd ask around to get some opinions.
- As long a the love seats are esthetically correct I think it would be fine. I've got a Rattan sectional that took care of the same problem. It came with 7 pieces, 1 corner (6'), 2 ends (one 4' section and 1 5' section), 2 armless sections (3' ea.) and a hassock with casters. which I topped with a piece of 3/8 safety glass and use for a coffee table. It has many, many arrangements to fit almost any type of space. I hope this helps. (it also sits considerably more that six people and can be shoved together like a giant playpen for ??!! :O] )
- Q:I have just brought a sofa on ebay and the measurements are 3ft by 3ft by 5 ft 8 in.I live in a terraced house and I don't know the measurements to the door but does anyone think that I would be able to fit it through the door ?I really like the sofa and really don't want to tell the person I can't have it.Many thanks !
- There are several sizes of doors, so I couldn't tell you without seeing the size. Most are 30 but they can be as big as 36. Also, it will depend on the configuration of your house. Ours has a tiny entryway and we had to end up punching a hole in the wall to get the couch in. Try tipping it up as far as you can if you need to clear interior walls and carrying it in at an angle to minimize the width.
