- Q: So, me and my family rent our house. But it has the worst carpet ever. So, i was wondering if its possible to get a huge rug that will cover my room, instead of re-carpeting? If so, where would i get a rug that size?
- I have found some large rugs at Goodwill. In my state prices vary a lot, but the cheapest price can be gotten with a little haggling at Goodwill and my cost of this used bedroom rug cost me just $20. If Goodwill is not available where you live then try thrift stores or the Salvation Army Thrift Store for sales and or auctions. You could save lots.

- Basic carpet can be installed with a pad for around 3$ a s/f .(+-) It can be higher or lower with the quality of the carpet and pad. This based on you getting a 15' wide carpet (thus no seams) for 225 s/f. Thats 675 $ for carpet pad and labor. This generally won t include rip out of whats there now, floor prep ( if needed) , furniture moving and disposal. Remember this can vary with quality of pad and carpet. - Try hand sanitizer. I once got sharpie (which is permanent rly hard to get out) on my shirt. I soaked my shirt in a dish of hand sanitizer it immediately came out. Once it was dry it looked like it did before the sharpie. So just take a towel soak it in hand sanitizer press it on the carpet stain wait 1 min or 2
- Q: We live in a really modern apartment- it was once a warehouse and they developed them into apartments with exposed pipes and such. We just got some couches... they are destressed black so sometimes they look really dark brown in the light, but they are black. We have the original oak floors with all the scrapes and knots in the them. We have dark wood for all of our furniture. We are trying to figure out a color scheme for the living room and more importantly a rug that would go. Any advice would be great! It seems that all the colors we like have brown as the main color in the rug and we weren't sure if that would go.Thanks!
- Open and airy can soon become dark and closed in if everything you put into a room is dark. There are plenty of rugs that have brown in them but aren't all brown. If the couches look brown work with that. Here's a link to look at rugs. Maybe find one you like and print a copy and put it up against the couch. Good luck!

- 220 s/f.. All carpet must be sold in square feet now. But if you need to know its 24.4 s/y s But as a draw back you ll need to purchase a 12x 22 pc of carpet, Since it comes 12 and sometimes 15 foot wide. This equals out to 264 s/f or 29.3 s/ys Some places will charge for the carpet handled by the installer and some places charge just by the footage installed Didn t want any surprises for you.. - Get a gallon jug of Acetone from Home Depot in the paint department. Pull all the old carpet up, pull up the tarboard sound deadening material, then pour out the Acetone and scrub the floor using steel wool to clean up any glue or tar that might be on the floor. Once you've got the floor pans clean, paint them with flat black paint to protect them from rusting. Finally, you can find replacement carpet at a parts store, just glue it down with contact cement.
- Q: I thought my rug would smell better after a whole day in the sun on my patio but it rained and it got wet I dried it again in the sun and now it stinks!I have brown stains on the BACK of the rug.I cant throw away the rug..it's beautiful.I can hire prof cleaners dont have steam/carpet shampooer.If you suggest home remedies, pls specify exact proportions.I guess I'll have to wash it with mild soap water in my tub let it dry in the patio again?
