- Q: After a wheel alignment my wheel bearings went bad, immediately.
- did they change the bearings. I don't think that's part of a wheel alignment. To tell if your bearing are bad, take the wheel and see if it has play in it. (wobbling) .

- Do not put grease, grease will wreak your bearings. The best thing to do is buy a skate tool that can help you insert them. If you dont want to do that simply put the bearing on the wheel (where it needs to go) and put the wheel on the truck with the bearing still on the wheel facing the truck. Then just simply push down on the wheel and the bearing will pop into place.

Then impress your friend with the amount of work you put into your first homework assignment. Be very serious about it - make him think HE'S STUPID for not knowing what an exhaust bearing is. - go to a skate shop and ask for lubricants and they will try and sale some regular lube but for my bearings i use bones lubricant. dont try and use grease lol that wont work. and if you buy pretty expensive bearings like ceramics or bones might as well get some good lubricant. dont over do it by spilling the entire bottle cuz ur gona get a lot of dirt in the bearings making it worse. another tip what ever you do dont use wd40 that will ruin ur bearings in no time. trust me iv dont it iv messed up some black panthers by using wd40, it makes them bust faster.

- My favorite trucks are krux. I've been skating for 3 years and I have had my krux for about 6 months and I've grinded the **** out of them and they work great. Don't buy cores I broke a pair in a day. Krux have a version of trucks with a kingpin that you tighten with an allen key so as to prevent it from catching on ledges. The best bearings I've had were bones swiss ceramics but they're expensive. for the price, go with bones redz.

- The wheel bearings need to be replaced, and then your car will need an alignment. My wheel bearings caused my alignment to be off, and caused excessive wear on my tires and my steering wheel starting to shake. If you're noticing excessive wear or bald patches on your tires, RUN to the dealership to get your wheel bearings repaired. Thicker lubricants will cause an unloaded bearing to spin for a shorter time, but won't be effected under loads. The only proper test is to use different bearings under identical settings. Have a rider ride down a ramp and see how far he/she goes. Unless you race longboards, skate pools or other transition skating, the need for a high speed bearing is diminished. The average street skate performs tricks around 2-3mph. Transition skaters can reach 30mph and longboards can exceed 50mph.
- Q: My high flange track phil wood hubs need the bearings replaced and i was going to go to a bearing manufacture i know of as opposed to having a bike shop order it. Are they standard 6000 sealed bearings or something different?
- Phil Wood will do it for you for $40. There are several variations on the hub designs that prevent the ability to give you precise instructions here UNLESS you have the Field Servicable type. If this is the case, just stick a 5mm hex wrench into each end of the axle and twist. The axle will come out and you can replace the bearings.

- do no longer trouble with ceramics, merely get some white lithium grease and coat the bearings in it. additionally, unfastened spin does no longer propose something. My bearings all spin for decrease than 5 seconds, does not trouble me any.
