- While I'm sure there are plenty of extensive ways to get this garden started, I've recently encountered the same thing and didn't do much to get my garden on its way. I pulled all the existing plants out - trying to get the roots and all. Then I tilled the ground and went through picking up any weeds or roots that I missed. After I got everything cleared, I put down a layer of top soil and worked it into the existing soil. Dig out some rows and you're ready to go! Regular maintenance is the key. Like one person said, you could use Roundup to get rid of weeds, but I didn't want to wait WEEKS and I was afraid the weed killer being in the soil would effect new growth. Just get out there once a week and pull up any weeds you see popping through the ground. If you're looking for a cheap way to start seeds, try a recycled egg carton! I was really surprised at how well mine has worked out for me :) I got a bunch of tomato seeds started and in the ground in no time. It's probably a good idea to still check with the local nurseries to find out what kind of plants grow best in your area, as well as what pests to look out for.

- By water flower, you mean a water lily, or water hyacinth, or the like? You can make a small water garden yourself by making a small pond, or even lining a half barrel, or other large container, and making a small container water garden. The garden center near me stocks water garden plants starting around May 1st (too cold right now), but if you live someplace warm, you may be able to find them earlier. You can also mail order online, as water lilies can be shipped dormant very easily.

- While wire rodent wheels are cheap, they are definitely not recommended. I would suggest the Silent Spinners, Comfort Wheels, as well as Wodent wheels. These wheel types have many advantages to you, the owner, as well as to your hamster. Of course with wire wheels there is the concern of harm to your hamster's feel, back(if wheel is too small) and tail, but with solid floor wheels they are easier to clean, quieter, and depending on brand may last longer than the metal counterparts. In the long run, I would choose another wheel. You could make adaptations to try and make your current one work, but it is much easier and cost effective to buy another. Wheels themselves are not that costly.

- 1 you can try is the plant is in a pot-- it has flowers. tomatoes are annuals= live 1 season die. #2 go out before the ground freezes, pull weeds, flowers ,etc. either till the soil w/ a mechanical roto-tiller or double-dig w/ a spading fork shovel-- to 'double-dig' is to dig down 1 spade depth,turn the earth so that the former top is rotated 90 degrees --do this for the entire bed. leave it exposed for the winter---then in late winter/early spring work over the bed again adding compost,maures,etc. (double-digging is hard work--so if you have a weak back-or medical issues either hire a teenager to do it or use the roto-tiller which can be rented by the hour in many larger cities) #3 try using waxed thread and an awl -which is a heavy needled hand tool made for this work.

- TRY what I do...if you do herbs and vegies..in the one pot...they come up at different times so you alwasy have something popping up at different times of year. If I get bugs I cover the plant with a plastic container and spray with bug spray or insect repellant..thats all I need. I find marigolds, well their nice but add nothing. Even mixing in tomato's you get visuals and something to eat as well...goof for environment. I find coffee grounds good for most soils but sometimes they attract bugs..as soon as you see them just do the above..i made the mistake of if the plant gets sprayed it curls up..but if you cover it it doesnt...and even surface spray works. HAPPY GARDENING!

- I am not sure if it is for a desk made by Ameriwood, or if it is a Wal-Mart number. The rep said you can get the instructions by email if you call. If you go to the Wal-Mart site, they have a link for consumer questions and answers. Apparently it is not that uncommon for them to omit desk assembly instructions from the boxes. Additional Details: I'm sorry you had so many problems! I do like the Sauder products more, I think.
