Q: i have a ASUS M4A87TD-USB3 mobo and a Corsair 550 Watts Power Supply. Ive looked in the manual andit says you need to connect the one that ive connected and a 4 pin. It says that if you dont connect the 4 pin the computer wont boot! is there a way around this or it f**ked?
Before purchasing a power supply you should always first check to see if it is compatible with your motherboard in the following two aspects: 1) Does it provide enough power for the motherboard 2) Does it have the appropriate connectors for my motherboard. There are also issues with certain high performance processors requiring very clean or high regulated power supplies (i.e. very little ripple, etc). As long as the power supply offers the voltages you need on one of the connecters, there is probably some sort of adaptor you can purchase... or you could hack something together. But, again, the power supply may have intentionally left off the connector you need because it does not fulfill the strict electrical specifications required by your motherboard. In other words, if you don't know what you are doing, it is probably best to just purchase the correct power supply for your hardware. Forcefully adapting an inappropriate power supply into your machine may later result in unstable system performance.
Q: Whats the Power Pass mean on a coax cable splitter?
It means it can pass DC current, such as used for satellite LNBs and amplified antennas
Q: I want to install a Bazooka Powered Sub (EL84-HP) to my car. I currently have a Pioneer 4-channel 600-watt amp that has a direct power line from the battery. However, I do not want to run another power line from my battery to my Bazooka sub, which has it's own built-in 100-watt sub. Would it be OK to connect the power cable only from my Pioneer amp to my Bazooka sub?
Yes and no. You can use the existing power line to your amp, but you need to use a power distribution block (available from Wal-Mart by Scoche). Run your main line into the dist. box and then run one line to your amp, and another to your Bazooka.
Q: can we install power 480 VAC and control 120 VAC cables,,, each one in different conduit but in parallel and adjacent ?also for two control cables ,,,, can they installed in one conduit ?
it isn't the final thank you to do it. there may well be some capacitive or inductive coupling between the 480 and one hundred twenty circuits that would adversely influence the controls. An unintentional short between the 480 and one hundred twenty circuits may well be a disaster on your controls.
Q: I have noticed on some power cables there is a quot;bumpthat the cable is wrapped around what looks like a magnet. Why?
also referred to as a Torroid which in agreement with the other responses, is an interferrece restrictor
Q: when i bought my motherboard it came with two 4-pin to sata power cables but i see that the power supplies have a sata power cable on it how do i connect these i have no idea how to do this
Just connect the power supplies sata power connector to the hard drive. By the way those 4-pin(molex) to sata power connectors are only used if your power supply doesn't have sata power connectors but only molex and your hard drives are sata power. They allow you to connect a 4pin molex to the connector and power sata hard drives with it. If you want to connect a sata power connector to it and get molex power you can't the connector is not designed for that. Also if your hard drive uses sata to connect to the motherboard and has a 4pin power connector just connect a 4pin power cable from the power supply to the hard drive. I hope that answers your question.
Q: I'm 1000% positive that it's not my monitor's problem.
did you probably didn't ground yourself and when you touched the motherboard you ruined the on-board video card..
Q: just asking if its atleast 5 feet.
The included cables are the standard 6' in length. There's nothing special about the PS3's power cord, so you can buy a longer one if you need it. The PS3 can also use standard HDMI and optical audio cables, so finding those in various lengths is easy. However if you need a longer PS3 AV cable (for composite, svideo or component video) you'll have to buy one online. They exist, or you can use a simple cable extension.
Q: My monitor POWER cable says: 10A, 250V. my CPU power cable says 6A, 250V.Recently, my monitor stopped working, so as a part of hit and trial, i exchanged these two wires. So, although my monitor is using a 6A cable instead of 10A.. my CPU is getting 4A excess than what its wire said initially. Is this safe?? Will i end up blowing up my CPU??
should be fine
Q: I've got everything connected to my motherboard, but cant start up my computer until i get these small cables connected to my motherboard. I just want to start up my computer. I've got the cpu in, the cpu fan, ram, speaker, hard drive, floppy etc.. How do i fit the cables in the question above, in the right order so my computer will start. I believe they go into the USB and PANEL on my motherboard.thank you
Not enough info. But from what you wrote, the only one you need to connect to get the mainboard started is the Power SW. All others are indicator or I/O. The Power Switch cable is not polarized but the LEDs are. LEDs need the +/- in the right direction. Be very careful on the USB connections or you could burn up a USB device. They are critical. You should have a manual if the mainboard is new. If it's used, look around on the surface of the board for a manufacture and model number. Then type it into google and see if you can find an on-line manual.
