Q: Ok i just got new ferrets and every time they go onto my living room rug and then sniff it they start bugging out like they'll keep jumping really high sometimes almost flipping and then start rolling around and its only when they sniff the rug is when they do this and they do it every time. Is it bad for them to be going on that rug?
Lol, no it's not bad for them to be on that rug. Like the others said, it's the weasel war dance or their dance of joy, whichever you call it, it means their excited. Mine do this on the carpet in the upstairs hallway, none of the other carpeting/rugs in the house, only the bit that runs through the hall. They could be smelling something that's getting them excited. When mine do their dance, I usually get down on my hands and knees, hit the floor with my hands and go towards them, it will get them even more excited and then a game of chase will start.
Q: I currently operate a rug store that sells almost all persian rugs in Santa Rosa California (in the San Fransisco bay area). Operation is rather stable but I have two issues.1. I sell high quality rugs and hence the prices are more expensive reflecting the quality. However, many customers can find designs similar to mine on the internet at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. (internet is 600, mine are 3000). If you put the rugs side by side you can DEFINATELY tell the drastic difference in quality. How should I cope with this?2. I am hoping to think of an idea used to promote the sale of these rugs. Any sort of promotion would be great just to get people to start buying.I have money to spend on ideas. Thanks, All help is appreciated. Best Answer will be chosen promptly.
You sell such a luxury item that your client base is much smaller. You have to infiltrate the market by showing that you have great taste and an eye for quality. Get a couple of high profile (rich, important, and powerful) clients and then word of mouth should help you immensely. It is all public relations. Hire a specialist if you must. Buy one of the cheaper rugs and have it on display (don't be real in your face with it-put it in a corner so that you can direct people to it if you need to make the point-keep the receipt on display and be genuine. Personally, I bought a handmade rug from Iran (I can immediately tell that it is better quality than whatever they sell at retail stores for twice the price (I bought it for $300 with shipping on OKorder). It is a low psi (120) with a thicker wool and some low pile, but you must remember that most people intend to have furniture, children, and feet on their rugs. I don't mind the lower quality because I don't feel the pressure of keeping it pristine when I bought it for function (then beauty). If you wanted to expand your client base you could open a seperate place that dealt with the more affordable and function driven rugs that would cost under $1000, but still be better quality than synthetic machine woven options. Good luck in your pursuits and I hope that I have been helpful! Just provide a service that fills an honest NEED.
Q: so the cat pooped on the rug.i cleaned it up.it smelled.i tried to cover it up with bleach.it left a big stain.i dont want to buy any stain remover.now what do i do?
unfortunately, there is no way to get a bleach stain out of a carpet. carpet dye is added topically, so what you have done is taken the color out of the rug. you may be able to have it repaired... if you have a large enough piece of carpet in a closet, an experienced carpet installer may be able to cut out the damaged piece and replace it . it won't be a perfect fix, but it will be better that what you have now.. for future reference NEVER use bleach on carpet, it is not color fast, and depending on the kind of carpet, you may melt the carpet. before using any kind of cleaning product, you should test it in a closet, or an inconspicuous area.
Q: He's a 1 year old male, and my mom bought a new rug for our bathroom, and he's always peeing on it! I really need to get him to stop because now my mom wants to get rid of him =[ And if it helps, we have another male cat (they're both fixed) that's 8 or 9 years old. Thanks!
Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More??? on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing! Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...
Q: For now, I have carpet just lay on top of the the old low carpet that the mobile home came with. it is sort of quick fix so cleaning is easier and the walking feel better. Is it okay to do that? The old low carpet underneath is ugly and have dirty feel to it, but I don't know if I should pull it up and replace the floor with vinyl flooring? My kitchen came with the vinyl flooring so I figure it is okay to pull the old carpet up and install it? Also, I don;t know if I should really pull the old carpet up or not, since I have no experiment in this. please answer, thanks in advance
Placing one carpet over the top of another carpet allows the top carpet to move around when you walk on it, and wears the top carpet out quickly. The original carpet could be attached to the floor with carpet tack strips, glue or staples. If tack strips were used, it will be a quick change you can do yourself. If it was glued or stapled, you will have to pull it up and remove the staples. Mobile homes come with the carpet stapled to the floor, sometimes before the walls are built and the walls set on the carpet. If this is the case, you will need to take a utility razor knife and cut around the edges of the wall to pull the carpet up. If you have tack board around the edge of the room, you can reuse it. If you don't have tack board, you will have to instal it before you can instal new carpet. It is easy to do, after removing the old carpet, just go around the room with the tack board and nail it to the floor about 1/2 inch from the wall. Next lay new padding and staple it to the floor. Again, don't try to reuse the old padding, it will wear out the new carpet quickly. Attach the carpet over the tack strip on one side of the room by laying the carpet on the tack strip and then pushing down on the carpet with the head of a flat metal object. Once you have one side attached, stretch the carpet to the opposite side of the room and attach the carpet to the tack board. Then do one side and then the other side. If you are going to seam the carpets together where they meet in a door way, do that prior to attaching that side of the carpet to the tack board. Easy to do, just time consuming. You can purchase a carpet stretcher for around $20 at Harbor Freight Stores. You can get a utility razor knife for around $1. It comes with 3 spare blades, and when your blades get dull, it is cheaper to buy a new knife with 3 blades, than to purchase replacement blades.
Q: What are the main differences between Persian and Oriental rugs (other than where they come from, obviously), and which is generally considered to be superior?
Persian rugs are from Iran whether oriental rugs are made mostly in Asian countries. But their designs are quite similar.
Q: hey, how y'all doin? im redoing my bedroom and im looking for an ivory/beige accent rug. do ya'll have any suggestions where i can get one..im looking for something real inexpensive, like $20-$40.i appreciate the help!
as much as i admire Laura Ashley fabric, I definitely think of the florals may well be a touch too `flowery` in this occasion. The room sounds stylish. faded blue may well be wonderful. it would upload pastime without over powering your faded colour scheme.
Q: On Craigslist, someone is selling rugs from Iran (with certificates of authenticity). The person's parents recently left the rug business and he has many rugs available.Does anyone know a fair price for these rugs or have a price guide? I realize that smaller rugs are obviously less than bigger rugs, but what, for example, should a 4' x 8' rug cost? Thanks for any help.
The price should be around $40/square foot for a standard hand-knotted wool rug. If you're looking at a kilim (looks like a very thick tapestry) those will be much cheaper, and if you're looking at a silk rug, or silk blend rug, those will be about double the cost of wool, or maybe more.
Q: I have a drain under the carpet almost in the middle of the room that needs to be fixed. The room is a big square and the only way to get to the drain is to remove the carpet. I dont know how to remove carpet and how to put it back in without damaging it or making it look bad. how do i do this? i dont really wanna pay someone to come do it for me
Usually carpet is held down with a tack strips that run along the wall. Just pry up the carpet at the walls roll the carpet up to the point you can fix the pipe...... Then after it's finished then roll the carpet back and use a knee kicker or power stretcher to stretch the carpet back into place, then tuck the carpet between the tack strip and the wall...... Also there should be a crawl space under the house, to get to the pipes.......There should some kind of access door to get down there, you just have to find it...... Anyway Good Luck..............
Q: How do you remove the black from the carpet?
1, first use non-woven fabric shoes surface dust wipe.2, with 4B rubber looks bad cleaning of stains, like wiping pencil words, bit by bit wipe, 4B rubber decontamination ability is very strong, like leather shoes on the road, what can wipe off.3, take a piece of cloth soaked in water, wring, almost half dry, squeeze a drop of baby bath, the cloth rub foaming, then you can take a bubble bath to shoes, shoes outside and inside can. Don't remember non-woven too much water can bubble, this will not be the leather shoes flooding worse, you know the leather is afraid of water, if not the leather shoes with too much water will be out of shape, it does not look good. If you are afraid of water, and so after foaming, use a hand grip non-woven fabrics, so as not to water out.
