- Q: I vacuum every day with a kirby sentria. I read somewhere that vacuuming daily can ruin your carpet, but I haven't had a problem (yet). Supposedly it'll wear out the carpet sooner? I use the correct settings for my carpet. We have a 3 year old, a dog, and 3 cats, the thought of vacuuming even every other day kind of sickens me when I think about how many crumbs and how much hair can build up in the carpet lol.Is it okay to vacuum daily? Not gonna have to replace the carpet every 3 years if I do it that way?
- I live alone and have a cat . My carpet picks up a lot of debris , Therefore I vacuum atleast once every other day , if not daily.
- Q: the differences of pure cotton carpets and acrylic fiber carpets
- The anti static performance of pure cotton is much better than that of acrylic synthetic fiber material, if carpet has serious electrostatic, it's uncomfortable to step on it. - Q: For all carpet experts....I accidentally spilled bleach on a small section of carpet in my apartment. I cut out the affected area and tried to patch it with a piece from the closet but the colors dont match. How does the carpet dying process work? I called several places and they suggested I do it myself since they no longer do that sort of work.
- Do you have a steam cleaner? If you do, fill the steam cleaner with water bleach steam clean the whole carpet. That should even it out. I'm interested to hear what other answers you get cause I had a friend spill red wine on my off white carpets that was what I was told to do. Good luck!
- Q: How do I get the carpet joint?
- Two kinds of methods of carpet seam (1) with sew two pieces of carpet bottom connected. (2) the glue on the adhesive tape should be heated to melt and paste. Iron can be hot melt, will be on it. When pasted, the adhesive tape is placed at the joint of the carpet. An iron is used to melt the adhesive on the paper surface, and the other is to press the carpet on the adhesive tape that has just been melted.

- Q: I was just wondering if CLR can remove carpet stains. If so, how would you use it? what are the steps?
- Not sure what CLR is, however I would like to tell you what not to use. Never use any products made for doing laundry as some can damage the dyes in nylon carpet. One drop of white or clear dish washing soap in a glass of water will remove most spots without adding to much soap to the carpet. Soap still in the carpet becomes sticky and a dirt magnet. Some dish soaps dyed various colors can dye the carpet. Food grade dyes such as those found in Kool Aid cannot be successfully removed without specialty products available to hot water extraction carpet/upholstery cleaners. These specialty cleaners for removing food dyes require extraction after they're used.
- Q: I just bought a new carpet for my room. It looks great, but wool keeps on coming out of it. Will it ever stop? Is ther anything i can do to make it stop? Please help
- many times, when they cut the fibers for the carpet design, the small 'fluff' remains imbedded for awhile.... vacuum often and after a couple weeks, it should be fine!

- If you are talking about a plastic shower curtain, then that would be okay. In fact they would help to scrub the curtain in the washer. But don't put either one in the dryer. Just hang the curtain back up after you wash it. Use a gentle cycle, warm wash and warm rinse. Take the curtain out immediately before it gets too cold. Because if it is plastic, it could crack. I have a front loader washer. Use a slow delicate cycle for a top loader.
