- Q: My wife and I are putting chair rail in various places of our new home. We have seen a few pictures of rooms in magazines in which the chair rail was quite a bit higher (for instance, about 5 feet up on an 8 foot ceiling) than usual and liked the way it looked. My dad told us that we probably shouldn't do this. Anyone have any opinions?
- Some older homes do have very high chair rails or what are sometimes called dados or wainscoting capped with chair rails. Sometimes they have ledges for hanging pictures or for resting plates and platters, too. Especially in Europe where you see it a lot more than in the states, chair rails or wainscoting will be higher on the wall because the ceilings are so much higher and they are intended to be in proportion with the height of the ceiling and also to make the room more cozy.

- Which ever works best for you. I personally would start with the little potty then once they are comfortable and good at using it I would switch to the big toilet. It isn't hard to get them to switch over in my experience.
- Q: My friend and I have been informed by our lecturer that we need to make something out of concrete and we decided to make a chair. However we are unsure of how to attach the legs to the seat of the chair and the seat to the back. We were also informed of a special paint/substance that can be applied to a mold so that when the concrete has set it can easily be removed from the mold but our lecturer did not know the correct name for it so we are unsure of where to look. - I think it's very soothing and relaxing to fall asleep in a reclining chair. The reason you feel better is because your bed has springs and those springs are a killer. Do your ever wonder why you keep on tossing and turning during the night? It's those springs. They're horrible for your back. Even if you don't toss and turn, you will most likely feel stiff in the morning. Ever saw one of those Tempur-Pedic beds on a commercial? Really expensive, but probably worth the money because your back will thank you.
- Q: My mother has an old rocking chair that i think had a woven seat cushion on it yrs ago, but it has since been ripped off during yrs of storage and use. I want to try to fix the chair so she can sit in it again, but im not sure sure how to weave, it sounds complicated, so im looking for some easy fixes to put a seat on the chair. - Jonathan...this would be a wonderful surprise and I am certain your Mom will be happy you came up with doing something unique. The 'woven' bottom is called cane. :) Look in the yellow pages for a furniture refinisher. Call and ask about re-caning a seat. If they cannot do the work themselves they will probably be able to give you the phone number of someone that can.

- I think it is very comfortable and stable. We like to carry our camping chair in the trunk of car to have ready for different activities.
- Q: Can an elderly disabled person use an evacuation chair to routinely enter a home with a lot of stairs (opposite of evacuation!) using an evacuation chair instead of a wheelchair ramp? I am thinking no, that it is unsafe. Would love professional opinion or input of any kind. Thanks.

- That is hot but looks very expensive! The chandelier is probably vintage. Look on Ebay. The chair you can cover yourself with any houndstooth or any b w pattern.
