- Q: Be shampooed like other carpets or does it have to be cleaned another way? My wife thinks it has to be steam cleaned.
- Shampooing carpet is old terminology, dating to the 60's and 70's. The modern process HWE, hot water extraction is the process endorsed by all of the carpet mills today. Steam is another way to say hot water, as the carpet will steam when the door is partially open during cold weather, while the cleaning process takes place. Berber carpets most often are Olefin carpet, or also called polyproplene, can be hot water extracted with special attention towards the vacuum/extraction process. Any moisture left in the carpet will migrate/wick to the surface during the drying process,along with residual soil/dirt found deep in the carpet. These wick-ups will tend to stain the very top side of the carpet and they may have to be rinsed back off by the pro, providing they do not easily wipe off with a damp cloth. Many professional carpet cleaners would prefer not to clean Olefin, if they had a choice. Pro carpet cleaners prefer the more popular Nylon Carpets.
- Q: Hi. We're currently redoing our spare bedroom complete with new carpet, new paint, and new molding. We've ripped up the old carpet and removed the old molding from the walls. We plan to paint next weekend. My question is, do we install the new molding before or after the new carpet is installed (in about two weeks after painting is done)? Which is the best way to go?
- Oxyclean. If it's the powder then wet the spot and saturate the area with the powder. Let it sit for a while. Maybe even overnight. You will have to have a carpet cleaner or shop vac to suck up the old oxyclean. Then you will probably have to reapply several times. I do this with my laundry that gets mildew and mold on it and it works like a charm. If you use the liquid oxyclean that comes in the spray bottle then just spray it on and suck it up with the carpet cleaner or shop vac. This is the method I use on my carpet with pet stains and I love it. hint: liquid tide in the carpet cleaner works wonders too.

- I had a 14x14 room recarpeted, no carpet, concrete floor, no stairs, and the carpet, pad, and installation came to about $860. Throw in the stairs and I'd bet it'll come to about $1500. - Yuck! Definitely rent a carpet cleaner from your nearest grocery store. I think they cost about $24.99 plus the cost of shampoo. You gotta get that dirt and bacteria out of your new home. You'll be glad you did.

- Q: I haven't vacuumed my carpet in over 2 months and its really dirty. I know its disgusting but I hate this flat so much and I rarely come here, just to sleep. - in case you have already contacted a criminal expert for this, i might stick to his advice. once you go away a condo, ask the corporate to do a stroll via on the time you go away. Take photos of the home finding great to back up your tale.

- Q: Ok ... So I have two messy boys at home, a 2 year old and a 23 year old. They are, like I said, messy. There's nothing I can do to make them cleaner, so I was thinking about gettinga long rug to go in front of our couch. The couch is a dark green, our carpet is a light beige. Would that look retarded, or like a blatant cover up? And if I get one, what color should it be? Our walls are a light off white.
- When my boys were home I had an area rug that went under the couch, coffee table, and the chair across from it. I think it was 6' x 10' and it was washable. I could just take it out to the deck and spray it with the hose. Sure saved my carpet. I think if you could find a neutral tone darker than your carpet...maybe a sand with green flecks, it would tie the whole area together. Funny, now that the boys are on there own they are both very neat and good at cleaning.
- Q: So I am updating my bedroom, like new rug, new shades for my windows, repainting my walls, and a new bed mattress. So i have these butt ugly carpets in my room that i've had since kindergarden and they have to go. They are embarrassing, unattractive, and dirty. I just need to find a website that sells just rugs and that has a huge variety. I am specifically looking for plush rugs. I want the rugs to touch wall to wall, basically touching every inch of my floor, but i don't want an installed carpet that i can't take off the floor, just an area rug. So if you know of any good websites to get rugs off of please tell me. Oh and i'm a guy so thank you!

- Q: I am wanting a rug or something that will help my horse cool down but not let her catch a chill cos she sweats after riding-what is a fleece rug for and excersise one for-also i do ove 2ft jumps and moving on to cross country-should i get tendon boots for my horse and will they fit cos shes a big footed highland-BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS-HELP
- a cooler rug is a great rug for precisely what you need it is light and airy and helps cool down without getting a chill a fleece rug is another name for a cooler rug, it can also be described as an anti sweat rug and about the boots yes i recommend boots although highland ponies are sturdy horses they might get hurt and you can get boots for any shape and size have a look on the internet for ones specifically for highland ponies i hope this helps xx
