- Q: i want technical names of the electrical equipments rheostat, wire wound
- there are no other names for them. these names are not used by laymen. they are used by everyone from students to advanced engineers.
- Q: my husband is running wire to a hot tub, which uses a 220 plug. he is going to hook up a 30 amp breaker. what size wire should be used?
- If he does not know he had better leave it to a pro or you will get fried or burn the place down! GEEZ!
- Q: Like I hear people say If you have good Wires you will have good bass. What is good wiring. What is the best wires I can get. Help me I'm new at this. Post some links or Something. 5 stars for best. Thanks!
- that sounds like a quote you'd only hear a sales person say. Power wire, ground wire, speaker wire -- just needs to be adequate gauge. Some of the lower price brands are less than honest. Selling wire that's claimed to be 4 gauge, but closer to 6. The higher price stuff generally just uses smaller individual strands making the wire very flexible. That could be helpful, or make no difference at all. RCA's -- the myths abound. Monster cable (and several others) would like you to think you need to spend $100+ on signal cables to get high quality sound. Not true at all. The $5 cables at walmart will transfer signal as well as the $50 ones. The biggest difference is durability. The higher price cables will have higher quality ends and SHOULD last longer especially when they're plugged in and unplugged often.
- Q: Theres a Green Illumination wire from the factory setup, where do I connect that wire too on my aftermarket deck? Also theres a White/Blue wire that I dont know where it connects either?
- The green illumination wire controlled the dimming on the factory stereo, but it will only apply if your tuner has the same feature. If it doesn't then just put a crimp cap on it and stow it out of the way. As for the white/blue wire, I'm not sure. If you pick up a wiring diagram, such as found in the Hanes manual, it will give you the breakdown. Not all the wiring in your car needs to be hooked up, just the ones that operate the tuner's functions and audio; if everything works and there's no left over wiring from your tuner's wiring bundle, then you don't need that white/blue wire. Crimp it off and tie it up to the bundle. This should be applicable to your year: Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/Yellow Radio Switched 12V+ Wire: Gray Radio Ground Wire: Brown Radio Illumination Wire: Green Radio Dimmer Wire: N/A Radio Antenna Trigger Wire: N/A Radio Amp Trigger Wire: N/A Front Speakers Size: 4″ Front Speakers Location: Dash Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Pink Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Purple Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Purple Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Light Green Rear Speakers Size: 4″ Rear Speakers Location: Rear Deck Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Black Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Yellow Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Red Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): White
- Q: Wires in the dash*Radio constant*Radio Switched*Radio illumination**please match these up with the options below**Wires on the stereo itself*Dashboard Light Dimmer Switch*Amplifier Remote or Power Antenna (Positive +)*(fuze) yellow memory (negative -)*(fuze) red 12v (positive +)if someone could please help that would be great-since the wires were replaced i cant go by color
- Car radio wire constant to stereo yellow memory. Car radio wire switched to stereo red 12v positive. Car radio wire illumination to stereo Dashboard Light Dimmer Switch. Don't forget to ground the black wire on the unit to the ground wire from the car harness. An extra ground strap to the chassis is a good idea also. If you don't have an amp or a power antenna, cap off the blue Remote/Antenna wire.
- Q: im hooking a amp up and i need to run my remote wire to my ignition wire
- I have wired up alot of amps and the remote wire on the amp should be connected to the power antenna/amp turn on wire on the stereo head unit. This allows the amp to only turn on when the stereo is on. If you are connecting an amp to a factory stereo,I see why you would need to find an ignition wire. You need to probe the fuse panel with a 12 volt test light to find a circuit that only comes on with the key. Usually there is a spare accessory fuse location just for this. Buy a fuse tap or specialty fuse from a auto parts store to connect your remote wire to. There is very little current draw to turn on the amp,so almost any circuit on the fuse panel will work if it is only on with the key.
- Q: have a kenmore dryer with 3 wires now had it will not dry need info on wiring it so it will dry
- Here is a picture of the wiring for a 3 wire cord. If this doesn't solve the problem, you may have issues with the receptacle. Just out of curiosity, have you checked the vent hose? If it's clogged with lint, the dryer won't be able to breathe, and therefore won't dry. Good luck.
