Q: Can limestone and quicklime be distinguished by heating and observing colors?
In the lower temperature heating conditions, both will not undergo chemical changes, the color will not change eitherAt high temperatures, limestone breaks down to produce lime and carbon dioxide, and the color itself does not change significantlyTherefore, the limestone and quicklime can not be distinguished by heating and observing the color
Q: Can someone kindly share a good chicken recipe that I can make with lime. Husband is visiting his sick grandfather, it's pouring outside and I am feeling like chicken and lime..lol. Please be so kind as to share something good and quick with me...preferably something that goes with pasta. Thanks.
I have never heard of that mix before. I would get sick by just the smell. But I have heard of the grapefruit diet working for some ppl.Or the south beach diet. But if you watch what you eat. Cut out pop and candy and chips out. ( Junk Food) And workout in some way. Even if it is just for a walk everyday. Will help take it off.

the web page (below) describes: Calcium hydroxideFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to: navigation, search Slaked lime redirects here. For (Ca(OH)2)(aq), see limewater. For the application of slaked lime as a wall colorant, see limewash. Calcium hydroxide, traditionally called slaked lime, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula Ca(OH)2. It is a colorless crystal or white powder and is obtained when calcium oxide (called lime or quicklime) is mixed, or slaked with water. It has many names including hydrated lime, builders' lime, slack lime, Choona (word used in India, Pakistan and Afghanistan), cal, or pickling lime. Calcium hydroxide is used in many applications, including food preparation. Limewater is the common name for a saturated solution of calcium hydroxide. see web page for more, including: Contents 1 Properties 2 Structure, preparation, occurrence 3 Uses 3.1 Niche uses 3.2 Food industry 3.2.1 Native American uses 3.2.2 Afghan uses 3.2.3 Ancient Celtic use 4 Health risks 5 See also 6 References 7 External links where each of the above is a hotlink to details
Q: my tomato started bloomingjust bought a bag of garden limewant to add more calcium and magnesium to soil before the fruits start forminghow to add the lime to the plant?it's in a pot
Limes do not have the same amount of acidity that lemons do, so it won't work.
Q: Id perfer some type of cookie..the things i dont have are condensed milk, evaporated milk, and I only have about three medium limes. Thanks in advancee.
Lime changes the pH of your soil. Do you want to do this? Lime is used to raise the pH when your soil is too acidic. Sulphur is added to make the soil more acidic. Have a test done on your soil to see if you really need lime. And, use gardening lime. Gypsum is not acceptable garden lime. You need to make a list of the veggies that you grow and see what pH does best. Most veggies grow best in a 6 to 7 pH but asparagas loves a higher number whereas blueberries want acid. Changing the pH can greatly influence your veggies. See if your soil needs lime before you lime.
Q: short history of the origin of the west african lime cake????please?????????

Q: What is the calcination temperature of quicklime?
Lime as the main component of calcium oxide, usually method was mainly composed of calcium carbonate rock, calcined at high temperature, then decomposition of carbon dioxide and calcium oxide (chemical formula: CaO, which is also known as lime, marble).
Q: Okay, so, I love to eat limes plain.. All by themselves. I cut them into eights, and then just bite in! Is this weird to you? Does anyone else do it? What keeps you from doing it?
Most limes (and, all citrus, for that matter) can be allowed to mature on the tree until you need it. When to pick limes is largely a matter of taste. The small Mexican limes are probably best picked before the start to turn yellow. Some like to let them mature a little more, however, to get rid of some of the bitter taste. Others like the bitter taste of the dark, green lime. This type of lime is the one you are most likely to see at bars and used in tropical drinks. Berss limes should be left on the tree a little longer, in my opinion, until the have a blush of yellow around the stem. They make great limeade and are really good squired on Mexican dishes. Limes should do very well in GA, especially along the coast. They're hardy inland as long as the temperatures are not too cold and they don't suffer any hard freezes during the first few years. Once established, they can take a little winter cold with no damage. The hotter the summers, the better. Hope this helps. Good luck.
Q: Can a dog with all his vaccinations and a shot where he cant get ticks or fleas get lime disease? if so how and what bye beisdes fleas?
Oh boy. OK, first DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE FRIDGE OR DRY THEM!!! You will kill citrus seed doing that. Plant them fresh out of the fruit in a very well draining planting mix about an inch deep. Citrus plantings need to be kept damp but not wet, warm, 75 F. would be perfect, and in bright light. Takes a couple of weeks for germination at this temp. and they are ready for transplanting when they get the second st of leaves. A note to J and Weasel, just because you don't agree with me is no reason to be malicious and go out to give me low ratings. Idiots like you are why for the second time I am quiting this site.
