It is not that they disappear. You are not treating they you are just optically camouflaging them. If you want to treat the skin try microdermabrasion. It takes time but it sloughs the the skin cells away gradually away bringing to the surface new skin cells. The key is to be patient and not overdo it. Moisturizing does not have to be oil based. I assume you are a teenager and some sugar (or saccharide) based products are best. These can be products containing sorbitol, glycerin (glycerin soaps are good as well to wash) , some butilene glycol etc (I am a chemist as you may have figured out so far) Look for those on the ingredients list of the cosmetics products for acne you decide to buy.
