Q:I'm doing a science experiment and I don't know why resistance decreases as the diameter of the wire increases. Any help is appreciated.
Basically a thick wire behaves as a lot of thin wires. Comparing one thin wire to a whole bunch, it is easy to see a difference. How this is explained in simple terms is that there are more paths for the electrons to take in a thicker wire, instead of them all being forced though the same space in the thin wire. You could compare it to cars on a motorway, the more lanes there are the more cars will be able to travel on it. A single lane would get blocked up if all cars in say four lanes tried to travel down it. Hope that explained things clearly!
Q:Has anyone tried to use or experiment to use CAT5E wire on a speaker going to Home theater receiver? If none, can you suggest a good speaker wire to use on a speaker.Paradigm Monitor Series and Onkyo TX-SR606 (Speaker and Receiver)
You can use Cat5 as speaker wire, you need to twist all the wires together and use one wire for positive and another for negative, there are several tutorials on the net on how to use it for best results but its really more trouble than its worth, I use OFC wire from parts express, but any OFC wire or copper wire should do...For shorter runs (under 15 Ft) any speaker wire should work as long as its the proper guage, wire,.. needs to be thicker for longer runs, the guage of the wire is more important than what wire you use, I use 14 guage all the way around just makes it easier to set up and looks better. Inside walls you want to use CL3 wire...this is what code requires in most states...the guage of your wire is going to be determined by the length of your run and the nominal impedance of your speaker, I linked to a chart below that will help you determine guage for your system....what I usually look for is flexability cheaper wire tend to be stiff and is hard to work with while better wire is very flexable, but either will work...
Q:I just bought a new JVC CD player well my dad and I are trying to hook it all up, we went to auto zone and got all the parts we need, wiring harness and faceplate kit. We got all the wires stripped and hooked to the right ones except when we plug it in there is no sound CD player works just no sound. There is an extra little clip that has 4 extra wires that need to be hooked up and we KNOW that's what the problem is. If anyone knows where these wires belong please let me know or if you know where i can get a FREE wiring diagram that would be great!! Thank you!!
you have gotten a leak on your gasoline tank. Do you notice any swimming pools or puddles forming the place the gasoline tank is whilst the vehicle has been parked for a mutually as? Getting a sparkling gasoline tank could be relatively costly. the 2d element is: do you notice that the exhaust colour or composition has replaced? Is there alot of smoke or is it relatively dark? that would desire to point that the aggregate point isn't appropriate: you're the two working too wealthy or lean based on the colour and that would have a huge result on gasoline economic device. if so there's a situation with the gasoline transport device, the injector according to possibility or the chip. time-honored tuneups fairly advance gasoline economic device. ultimately it would desire to be the transmission, if it fairly is not shifted on the splendid time you're able to desire to be working at bigger rpms and burning greater gasoline. you could try that situation your self by observing at what rpm the engine shifts and referencing the information interior the owner's handbook. besides the shown fact that it relatively sounds like it fairly is something to do with the computing device this is fairly costly too. it relatively is recommended to evaluate a various mechanic.
Q:HiI want to cover a large section of a wall at home with wire. There is a plug socket (electrical outlet) in the wall. How can I ensure that I do not drill into electrical wiring within the wall? Is there some way to scan a wall to locate the wires? Thanks.
If the house is newer construction, it should have nail guards over the wire to prevent you from nailing into the wires. But that's should have guards. There are devices that you can use to sniff out wires inside the wall. Prices vary. Depending on how long the nails/ staples are that you are using, you should be ok just putting them in where ever, most of the wiring is pulled through the center of the studs, that gives you a nearly an inch on either side of where the wire is pulled through, if its in a 2X4 wall.
Q:Is there anything else I could use to solder things without buying whole long spool of soldering wires? I mean like the wire inside the TV antenna cable from 99c store or nails and etc. ? Something I could use single time.
Solder Alternative
Q:True or False?Branch wiring from a 200A - 3 phase 4 wire panelboard.WIRE #PHASES 1 --- PHASE A 2 --- PHASE B 3 --- PHASE C 4 --- NEUTRAL - WHITE WIRE 5 --- PHASE A 6 --- PHASE B 7 --- PHASE C 8 --- NEUTRAL 9 --- GROUNDTOTAL OF 9 WIRES GOING TO SIX (6) 20A 120V CIRCUITS
Wrong. The panel has the set up so that a 3 phase breaker can be next to each other for example Breakers left side of panel 1= #1 line 3= # 2 line 5 = #3 line Neutral is the large bar on the side were the ground line goes. don't attach a neutral line to a breaker!!!!!! Make sure you buy a 3 phase breaker for equipment with that voltage and phase.
Q:If you hang a pot-plant with mass of 8kg from two lengths of wire attached to a horizontal beam 100cm apart. The wire on the left has a length of 50cm and the wire on the right has a length of 75cm.What is the tension in both wires?
The tension in both wires.? If you hang a pot-plant with mass of 8kg from two lengths of wire attached to a horizontal beam 100cm apart. The wire on the left has a length of 50cm and the wire on the right has a length of 75cm. What is the tension in both wires? In the triangle ABC, AB(c) = 100 cm, BC (a) = 50 cm and AC (b) = 75 cm 2s = a+b+c = 225 cm s = 112.5 s-a = 112.5 - 50 = 62.5 s-b = 112.5 - 75 = 37.5 s-c = 112.5 - 100 = 12.5 tan A/2 = √ {(s-b)*(s-c) / [s*(s-a)] = √ {37.5*12.5) / [112.5*62.5] A = 28.95? tan B/2 = √ {(s-c)*(s-a) / [s*(s-b)] = √ {12.5*62.5) / [112.5*37.5] B = 46.57? C = 180-28.95-46.57 =104.48? --------------------------------------... 46.57? is the angle between horizontal and 50 cm wire. 28.95 is he angle between horizontal and 100 cm P is the tension in the 50 cm wire and Q is the tension in the 75 cm wire Equating the horizontal components of the tensions P cos 46.57? = Q cos 28.95 ? P = Q cos 28.95 ?/ cos 46.57? P = 1.27 Q-------------------1 Equating the sum of the vertical components of the tensions to the weight of the pot P sin 46.57? + Q sin 28.95 = 8*9.8 N 0.73P + 0.48 Q = 78.4N 0.73(1.27 Q) + 0.48 Q = 78.4N Q = 55.72 N and P = 70.76 N ============================= Or use Lamis theorm Angle between P and Q = 104.48? Angle between P and the pot = 90 + 46.57? Angle between Q and the pot = 90 + 28.95 By Lamis theorm P/ cos 46.57? = 78.4/ sin 104.48? P = 55.67 N and Q = (78.4/ sin 104.48? ) cos28.95 = 70.85N ====================================
Q:Does lime wire add a lot of pop-ups and slow down your computer?
limewire itself does not but you should just watch what you download. In general audio files wont do anything bad, movies might, and programs are very bad especially if they are .zip. I use ARES because it is much more safer. The files people get are automatically uploaded from their computer if the file is in the ARES folder meaning the programs are put on without anyone's consent and no one can put a virus on it because they would be screwing up their own computer. But don't worry to make sure what others are downloading from your computer on ARES. Right click any file and click locate file. And the folder that it shows is what anyone can download.
Q:Suppose we have a 10v battery.one end of the battery is at 10V electric potential and other is at 0V Hence, the potential difference is 10V.if we measure the voltage( p.d.) across positive terminal at 10V and the middle of the wire connecting both ends of battery will it be less??I mean,at the middle of the wire the electric will not be zero, right??(correct me if am wrong)Thanks!!
If the wire had some reasonable resistance which prevented melting of the wire and explosion of the battery; the middle of the wire would show half the potential difference between the terminals. The wire connecting the terminals becomes a potentiometer with Voltage falling linearly between the terminals (assuming uniform resistance along the length of the wire). In practice, Voltage drop on a wire supplying power to a load is proportional to the resistance of the wire divided by the resistance of the load. When the wire is the load, all Voltage drop occurs along the wire.
Q:Is there such a wire that is able to be wired that can actually keep something cold, like insulated? If not, is there anything remotely like it? thank you for your help.
I don't think so there are any such wires like the ones you have mentioned.actually i have never heard about insulating wires. Best of luck for your future Rachit
