- sorry to say but that's the absolute worst set of bearings usually 5 is considered mediocre and 7 is perfect but in the end it only matters if you skate fast or not if you ever wanted to go with faster better bearings go with Independent bearing or the best of bearings~ Bones Swiss!
- Q: I had just laid out 650.00 for a complete brake job at Sears for my step son's car about 3 months ago, and now his right wheel bearing is shot. I would think given the close relationship to the braking assembly to the wheel bearings, this shouldn't have been missed. Am I not understanding something here or does Sears owe me at least 1/2 off my wheel bearing job? I have just learned as well that Ford Focus also had a recall on wheel bearings for certain models. That should have been a red flag there for them if they are any type of a reputable repair service nation wide. Help me please.... - So if you look at any of her other boards you will see in the wheels there is a metal ring that is a bearing. A bearing allows the wheels to spin. One size fits all and differences are the rating also you need 8 bearings for 4 wheels -Ratings are like ABEC, ABEC 7 bearings are more popular. I recommend 7 lower numbers are slower and I hear bad things about anything higher,although Bones Bearings(a brand) has no scale ,but trust me these are some of the best bearings you will find, I ride them and many people as well ride them. Any skate shop would sell them. Probably not department stores. I recommend Bones Reds About $18 Bones Super Reds About $25 And any lucky ABEC7 Bearings Although I HIGHLY recommend the bones reds or super reds! Another thing you could get is bearing lube..it speeds them up

- Bones Reds try and get ceramic bearings keep maintenance on them every month and don't worry about ABEC ratings cause it counts for nothing and you will have bearings for at least a year or two depending on where and how you skate.

The dealer told me that it was most likely my bearings but that for the time being they were only going to rotate my tires. - Depending on the make of vehicle some wheel bearings are sealed units(called hubs) and cannot be re-packed but have to be completely replaced as one unit.Again depending on the make of the vehicle ,bad wheel bearings don't always affect tire wear.Improper alignment usually causes uneven tire wear.To find out if the tires are the original from factory,look at the sidewall of the tire and find the size designation (e.g. 225/55/16).Right above these numbers you will see the following TPC SPEC and a few numbers if the tires are factory originals. Alot of dealers consider alignment as a maintenance item and expect you to pay for it.A good dealer who values your business can do the alignment under warranty. If the vehicle still has the bumper to bumper warranty ,the wheel bearings should be a warranty item,especially if they have truly failed already. Don't be afraid to challenge a dealer.A good dealer will always work with a customer to make them happy.You don't have to buy a car from them but they need to sell you one.

- hard to tell, I bet they are the same if you broke them in. It can take months of constant skating to break in a set of abec bearings. You never know what you're going to get with abec rated bearings because that rating doesn't mean anything for skate bearings only swiss does. Use some speed cream and break them in and you'll have some fast bearings.
- Q: I don't even know if the bearings are broken. The wheel is not spinning well and it feels like the bearings could be broken. How do i check if the bearings are broken? If they are broken, then how do i fix them or do i have to get new ones? If i do need to get new ones, then how do i know which ones to get? Or, do i just need to get a new hub? - It depends on what is actually wrong, and how bad it is. If there is a clicking sound coming from the hub as you spin the wheel, it could be a broken bearing. The clicking is caused by the remaining ball bearings rolling over parts of the broken one. Most cycles have cup and cone wheel bearings, but some later top end ones could have a cartridge bearing. If one or more of the ball bearings has broken, and the wheel hasn't been used much since it broke, then a new set of bearings could be fitted. The hub will need to be stripped, cleaned, checked for wear, and if there is no damage, re - built with the new bearings. If the wheel has been used for some time with a broken bearing, then the bearing surfaces in the hub may damaged, and it will probably be cheaper to replace the wheel, rather than fit a new hub. If in doubt, take the wheel to a reputable cycle store, and ask them to look at it, they should be able to advise you on the best solution.

- If you're a beginner I absolutely 100% reccomend the Enuff Sketchy skateboard. Comes with all that stuff you said up there, only much better quality, ABEC 7 bearings, ABEC 3's are rubbish. I learnt on it, and it was amazing. Great Pop. Smooth. Held together way better than some of the more pro one's i have had over the years. In the UK its ?54.99. If you are american then I have no idea, but i know that it's cheap and better quality than the one you want to get. Hope this helps and answers you question. (:
