- I have skated may bearings in my day and by the far the most bang for your buck is bone swiss chinese reds. They're super fast, durable and easy to clean I have had the pair I am using now for over a year and a half and I skate at least 3 times a week. The best part is they are only about 20 bucks.

- If I was doing the bearings I would do a complete overhaul. But if the crankshaft and rods are in spec., maybe a week. If you can do the work your self, and nothing goes wrong 2 days. But I would just take it out and drop it off at a auto-machine shop and have it fitted for what ever over sized bearing, rings and what ever else it needs. If you are in a hurry get a good crate motor that is already built. Being an 88 model I am sure it needs more then bearings to put the like new zoom in it.

- The trucks are the metal bodies that are fastened to the board and carry the wheels. The bearings are inside the wheels, you cant see them without taking the wheels off and removing them, they consist of an inner ring which slips over the axle, and outer ring with small precision lubricated balls between them. These allow the wheels to spin with very little friction. They are made in different grades, higher grade=more expensive= less friction.

- Q: At speeds above 60km/h (37ish miles/h) my car starts to vibrate and it sounds like my tires are squealing, but when i am turning right vibration disappears and also the sound of the squealing, however when turning left it gets worst then going straight.This happened after i hit a curve and i got both steering and wheel alignment check. - It could be a number of things but I would guess the wheelbearings, or at least one is bad. It could also be a bent tie rod, shot ball joints... Most wheelbearings tend to make noise as speed increases...but not in ALL cases. I'd take it in for a front end inspection and go from there.
- Q: So i have a longboard and the bearing it came with died on me. Changing my bearings for the first time, i had no idea what i was doing until i look to youtube. I did as they said but something fell out. It was my speed ring. So i changed themas i was told and i put the ring back on before the bolt. I dont know what i did but now it spins very fast but slows down IMMENSLY within 10 seconds of a spin test and stops abruptly. What happened? (note: i skated in the rain... Stupid me)
- Well if they are newer bearings you need to break them in what can take awhile depending on how much you skate... it can take a good day to a month or so just break them in and get them going... and from what I read online never use WD40 on them
- Q: Car has been in the shop since last week. They've ordered the bearing according to catalog, and its wrong - so they say the spindle has been changed apparently..however my brother in law says the bearings come with numbers imprinted on them which should make it easy to replace. The garage lady says Hyundai bearings don't come with numbers...anyway, they are down to the last bearing Hyundai makes and we are waiting for that part to come and hoping it is correct....I am wondering if this is just totally nuts or does this sound correct? Shouldn't they have just taken the bearing itself to an auto parts place and matched it up? Why is this so hard? Car was originally put in the shop for a new alternator, by the way.
- Get the bearing and look for yourself. Go to auto parts store and ask them for a front wheel bearing for your vehicle. Look it up online at Auto Zone. com.There are a number of ways to find out. Get out of there and find a shop that knows what they are doing. Why are they working on the wheels to repair an alternator. Sounds like you are getting ripped.
- Q: I have reds bones bearings and they were all fine until today. I got them over a month ago and haven't cleaned them. Today I ran over a pebble going fast and fell. Right after that my bearings on one of my wheels stopped spinning. I could ride but they don't spin when I spin them with my hand. I think something got in the bearings. It's both of the bearings in the wheel not just one. What could I do to check if there's anything in them? What do I do if there is? And how do I clean the bearings? What do I need? - Here are some good links to visit. What I do is: Pop of the sheild with a small nail, or you could use a thumbtack Clean them with a reccomended cleaner Ex. rubbing alcohol Spin them pinching the middle with my fingers to remove dirt, Dry them, Put the sheilds back on, Wipe the bearings with the sheilds on, on a old towel to make them look new, And put some Bones speedcream in them, Put em' back on the wheels.
