Q:two days ago we rented one of those rug doctors and shampood the carpet. we went over it a few times so the carpet did get wet. Now im smelling like a mildew/ gross dog smell (i dont have dogs) the AC has been on the whole time and the windows are opened...how do i get rid of this horrible smell!?
when my parents used the rug doctor my mom would but oxy clean and also some laundry detergent (not that much) don't tell them you use that with the machines. it works great. I would put some febreeze just spray the carpet down or wait tilll it dries and then redo it with the oxyclean and laundry detergant.
Q:i really don't understand the rug sizing.Could somebody please explain:a: roughly what size rug fits what size ponyb: what size would fit my Welsh Sec C stallion?
You can measure your pony from the center of his chest to the center of his butt (across the barrel of his body) That measurement for a pony is generally in the 60-70 range, give or take. (inches) We have a 13.1 pony who wears a 62 and another who wears a 66. It depends on how long his body is. Your best bet is to measure. Or try one on. Happy shopping :)
Q:I am about to get a foal and a light horses. Which blankets/rugs do each of them need and why?
In England we used to call them rugs, in the US - blankets. I think rugs was the term used for the old fashioned jute ones that were held in place with a wither pad and roller and then they had additional wool blankets added underneath for more warmth. If the foal is still on her mother, they shouldn't need rugs. For a horse that you are riding, you might want to get a medium weight stable blanket and a medium weight turn out for when it gets really cold. You can get foal blankets but they are really only used if the foal is sick, underweight or unable to sustain body temperature. I prefer not to use foal blankets unless there is a medical need or they are being shown.
Q:my boyfriend tipped over his Hookah and burnt tons of tiny holes in his carpet, some just surface burns and some are somewhat deep, and theyre over about a 2 foot span, and all smaller than a dime. What is a non-costly way to fix the problem? We are going to try to trim some of the surface burns. The carpet is older than my boyfriend (so its 18+ years old) and they have no scraps.
when I lived in an apartment, I burned a hole from an ashtray in the carpet as big as a baseball, my neighbor and I took the carpet from the baseboards where they are hidden and filled the hole in with the scraps (carpet fuzz) and glue that lasted till I moved out 2 years later I don't know what happened after that, it was not noticeable.
Q:We've recently moved houses and have found there is sandflies/biting insects everywhere. Into the afternoon my TB mare especially is being eaten alive by the insects and is rubbing herself on the fences and she now is starting to loose her coat because of it. I'm looking at buying at coat for her that we can put on her to hopefully stop the insects but as well the sun, but I have know idea what type of rug I should get her... We live in a really hot and humid area so we need something cool. Is there anyone who can help??
A fly rug or sweetitch rug.
Q:we bought several new throw-rugs to protect carpets at door-ways. They were folded in half on a pile in the store. It has been impossible to remove that crease, which as the traffic goes on it bunches up in the middle even worse. Any ideas on how to get out these creases where the fold was? Have washed, weighted down, turned over, hung up.....can't seem to prevail! Need advise on how to get rid of these creases. Will never buy a folded rug again.
This is really not an answer or solution ; my notion is that you will have to live with it. Applying steam on the back side to the backing and then weight it down would an other possible solution; I wouldn't put $ on it though. Could you use the rug somewhere that the crease would be under a table or chair?
Q:How to choose the carpet?
wool texture; hue
Q:What can i do to make the bumps go away? i tried vacuuming and that works until i put the table on top of the rug. Help?
Give it some time lying flat or else you could try having it cleaned. The next time you store it make sure that you roll it as you found out folding causes creases that can also break a weakened foundation. Hope this helps.
Q:himy apartment already has carpet, but it looks kinda ratty, so i bought an area rug.....it keeps bunching up in the same spot though.....is there any adhesive i could buy that works on carpet?
There is several types and sizes of matts that you put under area rugs. These will help stop the rugs from scooching. But you must get the type for rugs over carpets. So know your rug size and get one that will fit. You can trim to size with scissors. You don t want an adhesive, it will ruin any carpet. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
Q:My carpet was just cleaned and is already dirty...it shows everything! I don't want to have to get down on my hands and knees to spot clean (the entire carpet constantly needs cleaning!) and I cant afford to pay a carpet cleaner every week. Is there like a carpet shampooing/cleaning machine you can buy for around 100 dollars or ANYTHING I can do? Thanks!
There are lot of cheaper ways to clean your carpet then hiring a pro. Rug doctor rent for cheap, A steam cleaner will run you 150 and up, You can also ScochGard your carpet and it wouldn't stain as easy.
