- Q: I have a grounding wire for my HIDs which I need to increase the length for. How do I do this?
- Get a roll of cable from a shop like halfords and connect together with connector block. Of just connect the original wire to a metal part of the car close to the light. Just have to scratch a bit paint off for a good connection
- Q: voltage regulater wires get hot when bike runs 86 yamaha v max. why do they do this?
- If the wire connectors at the regulator are corroded or not making a good connection, that can cause the wires to get hot. On my Kaw, I ended up having to remove the connectors and solder the ends together to keep them from getting hot enough to melt the plastic surrounding the connectors.
- Q: I am connecting a humidstat to furnace. I would normally use furnace/thermostat wire for this purpose except that I need 8 conductors and the largest furnace/thermostat wire seems to be 5 conductors. I would like to use another 18guage 8 conductor wire but not sure if there are any specifications I need to ensure it meets before I can use it inside furnace cabinet.
- bill this project seems to be taking you forever, may i ask why do you need 8 conductor?
- Q: its an older boat without fuse box, if you go to the manual on the website it gives you the wire layout. I know the radio works but a friend of mine disconnected the wires to try to put a switch in and never reconnected them. I don't know what to do with the ground wire or the red wire. Any suggestions?
- the ground wire black is connected to -ve of battery the red wire is connected to ignition wire so when you turn on the keys the radio starts the yellow wire is connected to +ve of battery, but radio will not switch on till red is connected. good luck
- Q: I'm wiring a dvc 4ohm sub with 1000rms and I'm trying to wire it at 2 ohms to a mono-d amplifier. Is there a recomendation on the guage of speaker wire I should use? And Another question. When I run a wire to both positive terminals and a seperate wire to both negative terminals does that give me 8ohms or how does that work?
- speaker okorder /
- Q: i am installing a headunit, i connected all the wires the match, but i have some left over that i am confused about. from the wires that plug into the radio there is the antenna wire, the remote wire, and the ground with a washer to screw it down, and from the other is set of wires is a solid orange wire, which i have no idea where it goes to. so i connected the remote to the orange wire and didn't hook up the antenna to anything, and bolted down the ground wire. I'm wondering why i have 2 ground wires, and what the orange wire is and what do i connect to it?
- if its basically static, your audio gadget are effective, verify that not one of the wires are touching, whether its basically one + touching a - the entire gadget will sound undesirable (different than for the sub which gets its sign from a different source. verify at the back of the cd participant and in case you're able to desire to get rid of each and each speaker a million by using a million.
- Q: my questions is what wires go where. i just bought a Hunter thermostat model # 44155c. on my old thermostat the wires are as followes:W2-jumps to quot;F(Yellow Wire)F-Yellow WireO/B-Light Green WireR-Red WireG-Dark GreenC-Red Wire Y-Yellow WireMy new thermostat has these options:RH, RC, G, Y/O, W/B, Y1can anyone tell me what wires go where?thank you
- Well, unfortunately, this particular Hunter model isn't well-designed for operating heat pumps, which is what I'm assuming you've got, since you've got a W2 (aux heat) wire and and O/B (compressor reversal) wire. Still, you can sorta get it to work, but it might take some trial and error, when it comes to the O/B wire, as I'll explain in a minute. Here's the connections you should make: RH - 24VAC hot - connect to R wire RC - 24VAC cool - Jumper this to the RH connector G - Fan - connect to G wire Y - Compressor - connect to Y1 The O/B wire should connect to EITHER the Y/O or W/B, depending on your heat pump. If the reversing valve of the pump is supposed to operate when it heating mode, then you connect to the W/B terminal. If the reversing valve operates in cooling mode, you connect to the Y/O terminal. The other wires should be taped off with electrical tape and left disconnected. These wires are: W2 - auxiliary heat control - leave disconnected (your thermostat can't activate auxiliary heat) F - not sure what this is, to be honest; it might be for controlling a thermostat system check LED C - 24VAC common. Your thermostat doesn't need it.
- Q: Who sells just 4 gauge power and ground wire so I can do the big 3 upgrade?
- You okorder /... It's also available with black insulation and in 2 gauge. Parts Express also sells appropriate ring terminals.
- Q: I want wired internet on my xbox and was wondering if you need a wired router or can u just us a modem?
- a router wired or wireless is not necessary, but it's useful if you have a computer.if you only connect your console, plug your ethernet cable from your modem to your console
- Q: can someone tell me what wire arcing is?
- It's when you get two wires (or any conductors) close enough together with a large voltage difference where the electricity will jump through the air from one wire to the other instead of staying inside the wires and following the regular electrical circuit.
