Q: I refer to the overhung impeller pump. They normally have two bearings supporting the shaft, (and an oil box between the bearings). Why is that? why not only one bearing? what would happen if they are manufactured with one bearing only?: This is a rough guess by an electrician. There is a lot of radial pressure on the shaft of a rotary pump. Were pumps to have only one bearing, the bearing would have a lot more pressure on one side of the race than on the other. This would cause the bearing to fail. With two bearings, set some inches apart, the radial pressure on the races would be small.

Q: I use the NSK rcb061014 one-way needle roller bearings, I ask you, what is its working principle, how to achieve locking?: One way bearing is a type of bearing that can only be turned in one direction and locked in another direction.The metal shell of the one-way bearing, contains a lot of rollers (or needle ball), and the rolling block (acupoints) shape so that it can only roll in one direction, (because the installation direction of the rolling direction opposite spring, so spring is compressed). In another direction when the rolling direction and spring mounting same direction, not to cause the compression spring, up roller, roller to produce a lot of resistance in between the inner shell and outer shell (the so-called "one-way"), stop rolling bearing.

Q: I need to know how to install cam bearings in a 5.7 L engine 1998 Chevy.I need to know about the oil Galleries specifically: The cam bearings are just slightly different in diameter, so you have to make sure you install them in the correct order. The smallest in back, largest in front. Make sure the oil holes are lined up when you put them in. I personally never do it my self, I find it easier to do it when I take the block for cleaning, but if you are just replacing the cam, and want to do it yourself, my advice is to purchase or rent the proper tool.
