- Q: I'm buying this old classic 1983 yz125 for like 200 bucks. The guy said it needs a piston and bottom end bearings. I'm just a little confused on what bottom end bearings are. Like crankshaft bearings? Also if you know where I can find parts for an 83 that would also help to lol.

- pull the wheels first, then you will have to remove the caps on the axles ( front ones ) , there is a tool to remove the nut that holds the wheel bearings in place , you have to remove that, the brake calipers and rotors will have to come off too, the rotor has the wheel bearings inside of it, the outter and inner, , use new bearings -they usually are under 30 bucks for the front bearings, and about the same for the rear bearings, the rear bearings are on the drive axle, so you will have to pull the axles to have the rear bearings removed, and they are pressed on, so you will need to take them to a shop with a press for r/r of the wheel bearings

- hard to tell, I bet they are the same if you broke them in. It can take months of constant skating to break in a set of abec bearings. You never know what you're going to get with abec rated bearings because that rating doesn't mean anything for skate bearings only swiss does. Use some speed cream and break them in and you'll have some fast bearings.

- Balls are headed so they are roughly round. They are then subjected to several hours of grinding in a batch. The grinding operation continuously makes then rounder, and rounder. It takes many hundred hours of grinding to completely finish a batch. The size of the batch is a function of the size of the balls.

- Mr. Clean is water based, it will cause the bearings to rust. Use a solvent based cleaner. I use denatured alcohol. Once the bearings are clean, use a skateboard bearing lubricant.

- it really depends on how much damage is done. Axle Bearings. :Replacing bearings, axle, carrier and seals - $500 :just bearings and seals - $20 Front Wheel Bearings: :just both side bearings and seals - $30 Spindles, hubs. bearings and seals - $200 Swingarm Bearings: :Just beaings and seals - $25 :Swingarm, pivot bolt, bearings and seals - $500 Steering stem bearings :just bearings and seals - $15 :steering stem, bearings and seals - $200 the engine will be about $300 to sent out and have rebuilt by your local honda dealer. bearings are not something to put off, trust me, i know. if bearings wear out, they can destroys a lot of expensive parts, fast. be keep replaced often.
- Q: 99 Lexus ES300. When I drive the car its fine for like the first ten minutes but after that when I stop at lights and for traffic the oil pressure will drops when the RPMs go below 500 or so. I took it in and they told me to keep thicker oil and Lucas Stop Leak in it. They also told me the bearings on the Camshaft are loose and thats why I'm losing pressure. Anyone know how much this is to fix? Is it possible to fix on my own? I'm a novice at best with cars. Also why would the oil pressure drop since the bearings are going bad? Just trying to understand the problem a bit better. Thx
- It's normal for oil pressure to drop when the oil gets hot and the revs go down so unless the oil light comes on and the oil pressure is dropping that far and your warning light comes on or stays on, it's not cam bearings, it's a sludge problem. Google toyota sludge. You may need to remove the oil pan to clean off the oil pick-up.
