The outer ring of drawn cup needle roller bearing is punched with the high-quality steel sheet. The outer ring has thin wall.The drawn cup needle roller bearing has the characterstics of small radial section area, large load carring capacity ,less inertia and economic manufacture. - Q:I went to Les Schwab and got my car checked out after I heard a clicky noise. I told them to check the bearings. They did and said they needed replacing and were in bad shape. They called me and gave me a quote for $500. Is that too much for replacing the wheel bearings, hub and an alignment?
- well i don't know what your driving. so it may vary. USD. wheel bearings, may go for 40-80 each hubs can really vary in price. 40+- for after markets, in excess of 100 for oem. alignment will run 80(?) at les schwab. then there's labor. 60-80+-. so just parts, averaging, bearings, 100 for two / hubs 100 for two / alignment 80. labor for three hours(prolly takes more than three) 160. total 440. maybe 60 over. but then there's tax. but not knowing what you have......... summary, i'd say it might be a little high, but, les schwab has excellent customer service. they are always a little high, but IMO the service, even after the job, makes it well worth it. i use 'em.

- you take s socket wrench and loosen the nut and take it off and take off the washer , than the wheel than the other washer . Don't lose ur washers !!! Do this to each wheel . Take about 8 Qtips or more or less depending on how dirty ur bearings are , take the Q tip and rub the dirt off of the bearing . Each side and in the insides .

- What bearings? Wheel bearings are cheap and a DIY job. Engine/transmission bearings? They are more expensive and the labor to change them will run into the hundreds. Axle or steering bearings fairly cheap and yet another simple DIY job.

- Good bearings are Bone Reds and fast as Hell. Fast as Hell are about $10. They last me about a year . Those are the only bearing i use now.

- That star nut your talking about can be removed from the nut...And is adjustable to fit in the right location. Hand tight While spinning the tire works best for your bearings...
