Q: I have these skateboard wheels with bearings that have been used for FOREVER, they have probably been in these wheels for more than two years. And this skateboard has been left out in the open all of the time, so the bearings are really really dirty but not too rusted so I am going to try to use them in some different wheels. I have tried to get them out with a screwdriver and using the axel on one of my trucks, but it is so stuck in there with dirt probably that it makes it really difficult to get out, even when I apply a lot of pressure. I don't think it is physically possible for me to get it out with just human force, or maybe it's just me, idk, I have tried and tried and I've already broken one nail trying to get these stupid bearings out and I just want an easier way. What other things can I try to get them out of the wheels? I think they are still usable, probably they just need cleaning.
any kind of lubercant and a good soak should make them slick enough to come out. if you do use something like wd-40 you'll have to make sure that you clean them good you don't want to have wd-40 on them it'll just make it more dirty. Some bearings are just naturally hard to get out of wheels, i've had this problem but i wasn't trying to save them so it just ruined them, they are probably still very usable just a good cleaning and some good lube will make them good again. If the axle things doesn't work and a screw driver doesn't work after you lube them up good then you're probably just out of luck and will need to just get new bearings. try to clean then wheels good to get most of that dirt out of there, a can of air will work good.
Q: Long story short. I bought a truck and i'm replacing the brake rotors, calipers, pads because they are bad. Should I replace the wheel bearings while i'm at it since their already out? What is the average life of wheel bearings and how much should they cost (without labor, since i'm doing it myself).
to the best of my knowledge, you don't really need to if they are original, in good condition. the thing is, can you check and verify the condition of the wheel bearings? just because you are taking everything else in that department out, shouldn't mean you have to replace the bearings as well. BUT, if you want, if the truck has high mileage, by all means go for it. after everything's done, you might want to do an alignment job.
Q: Well, I was wondering: do all skateboard bearings have 2 sides? I looked at abec 7 or 8 bearings and they do not seem to have 2 sides? How do I know which side should i grease? Also, does abec bearings have a metal/rubber covering on one side? Thanks, if you can answer all these questions, i will give you best answer. Don't say, Get bone swiss bearings! They're better! I know they are, but I'm asking about abec 7 bearings. Thanks.
By sides, I assume that you mean the shields that are there to block dirt from getting in. Only one shield is needed. Some makers include both and some only one. (This applies to ABEC 7 or any other bearing) The one on the wheel side is not needed since no dirt can get in there except through the other side. You don't grease the shields. There is only one set of balls in the bearing and greasing from either side will do the same thing. ABEC ratings are meaningless for skate boards or inline skates. The ratings are for vibration and accuracy in high speed industrial machines. You can get ABEC 7 bearings that are garbage or non-rated (Bones, TwinCam, and ZeroDrag all make non-ABEC bearings as their top models) bearings that are extremely good.
Q: On a big truck that holds a 3 pc. drive line and has 2 carrier bearings, is it best 2 keep the bearings level?
It is important to keep the bearings square with the drive line. The whole point of having the bearings to support the multiple piece drive line is so that the shaft doesn't need to be absolutely level with the frame, or to be absolutely straight from the transmission to the differential. THE ONLY CRITICAL angle is that the mating surfaces of the transmission and the differential must be within a tolerance of 1-1/2° of each other. The OTHER critical issue is that all of the bearing bosses must be square with each other. If the number 1 joint is positioned at 12 o'clock, then numbers 2 3 must also be at the same index or the driveline will grow under load and at speed ( 40 MPH) and will exhibit a server vibration. Good Luck
Q: like anything around the house or cheap
graphite okorder )
Q: will to spend around $30 bucks
i culdnt agree more with ilatina mafia....BUY BONES REDS you will not regret it, best bearings by far
Q: I have ABEC-5 bearings, and I have cleaned them but do not have anything to use as lube, Will gun oil be ok?
guy grew to become into old huh..And what do you think of grew to become into used for some years till now Rem Oil even existed? As a Gunsmith, with some years of arms on adventure, there are reward to the two Oil and mild-weight to Medium physique greases. too most of the two will of direction enable airborne dirt and airborne dirt and dirt and debris to adhere to uncovered areas. Grease notwithstanding will artwork superb because of fact the old timer informed you because it does do in fact stay in place greater suited than oil. there's a product called R.I.G. (Rust Inhibiting Grease) that has been around for some years and grew to become into initially designed for use in militia weapons and grew to become into this form of fulfillment, it grew to become into provided on the civilian industry..It nonetheless is rather standard between Gunsmiths besides because of fact the regularly occurring public interior the comprehend. the only disadvantage is the fact that the grease might properly be straight away affected via thickening led to by technique of extreme chilly temperatures. In heat or warmer environments it is an stunning lubricant, yet in addition gives you an stunning preserving coating on firearms....... so a techniques as WD-40 is in touch..basically because of fact the spray can says it is nice for firearms, does no longer propose that it is..WD40 is already inflicting problems whilst utilized to polymer framed firearms......no longer good....... human beings can learn issues from older those with adventure in the event that they do no longer close their minds.....The old guy is actual...
Q: What is the best deck, bearings so on so on. I am a begginger. Also what addvice do you have to me.
automobiles, wheels, bearings, hardware, grip tape. If this is your relatively first time getting on a skateboard, i % to propose which you purchase your safetly issues like helmet, pads and such in case you do no longer % your physique to get sore.
Q: okay my dad bought some stuff for my skatedboard berrings cuz they been goin kinda slow and im not sure if its good or not it cant attract dust so if anyone knows please help!
I think this stuff should be fine, though I don't know if it will help speed up your bearings. I've used WD40 on my bearings before and it didn't seem to hurt, so you should be okay to put this stuff on. I would also recommend that you check in with a local skate shop and ask what they would consider before you put it on just in case.
Q: Are Rush Bombers good skateboard bearings?
No the bearings to go with are red swiss bearings. They are sick and last forever.
