- Q: Okay so I'm renting a home. I had an emergency and i had to leave town. I was going to take my dog to a kennel but my roomate said he would look after her. So I left her with him and she ended up peeing a lot in one certain place. When I came back about two weeks later the carpet reeked of urine. I rented rug doctor and tried washing it but it didn't work. Then i got natures miracle and poured all of it but it didn't work. Then I tried simple solution, like the whole bottle and it still smells. I cant rip out the carpet because its not mine. Please help me.

- You know I would say yes but I would just wash it with mild soap and maybe shout the staines first! I use bleach on all my rugs but I have in the past have bleach eat right thru the back side of the rug did not do well. The ones I have now are 100 cotton and they take bleach well! Good Luck! Do not dry it if it does not get the stains off with the shout try it again before dry that sets stains!

- Hey,i happen to have a sisal rug myself!! Firstly, it depends on the kind of sisal rug you have. There are two types: synthetic fiber, which may contain nylon or wool-blend materials; and natural fiber, made of plant products such as sea grass, paper, or coconut fibers. To safely clean synthetic-fiber sisals, follow the manufacturer's directions, which may recommend hot-water extraction or a dry-cleaning method. Manufacturers of natural-fiber sisals suggest only a dry-cleaning method. Do not steam-clean or wet-shampoo; liquids or excessive dampness may cause these rugs to shrink or pucker. For spot-cleaning a stain, lightly mist the area with the manufacturer's recommended cleaning solution (do not pour or heavily apply any cleanser directly onto the rug). Then blot the damp area with a white towel and continue blotting until the stain is removed. A fabric protectant may be applied to both types of sisal rugs during the manufacturing process or by the consumer. - Nail polish remover? If that doesn't work, try using a razor to remove the portion of the fibers that are damaged.
- Q: I used one of those machines to clean a rug and it's left it all streaky. I want to start again when it's dry and not using the machine..so can anyone tell me what carpet cleaner to use or has any tips or suggestions. Any help appreciated. How do you clean your rugs/carpets?
- If it left streaks you should have gone over the carpet again with the machine. They are more effective and your hands. If you use the machine again boil your water so it is super hot and then go over the floor again.

They stay down and when the landlord came to collect rent, I showed him and then he decided to change the whole house and put down BEAUTIFUL cherry hardwood and bought us runners of our choice color .Show the landlord the rooms potential, but let her know it's TOTALLY undoable and maybe she'll understand. Say your allergies can't stand the stained item or something. Be creative!
