- I don't own one, but they appear to be designed for hard flooring such as tile and linoleum. There's only a cloth at the bottom where the steam passes through. I think you'd really be struggling trying to use one on carpet. A better alternative would be a carpet cleaner, Bissell and Hoover are both good brands. Expect to pay $150-300 and up. But for a budget, I love the Little Green Machine by Bissell which is much smaller. Don't try to clean an entire carpeted area with it or you'll be exhausted! But it's great for cleaning upholstery and for picking up spills on carpet, and doesn't take up a lot of storage space. Costs around $100 and you can get it at WalMart and many other retailers. Then if you need to do your whole carpet, you can rent an extractor for around $25 (check with your local supermarket, they probably rent Rug Doctor, etc.). You can get the job done in a day and not have a bulky machine taking up valuable closet space the rest of the year.

- Provided you can get the same type of carpet, you can seem in a piece. Basically you need carpet seeming tape, new carpet, and a carpet seeming iron. You have to take a straight edge or a square and cut off the bad section. Cut to match new section with straight edge or square. Warm up seaming iron match the run of the new carpet with The run of the old otherwise it will look really bad. Lay seam tape half and half between old and new carpet. .. better yet it would be esier for you to look up how to seam carpet on youtube. Good luck
- Q: Today I placed my laptop on the living room rug for a little while, and when I picked it back up I could feel little tiny bumps on the base of it. So I turned my laptop upside down and I could see about 30 or so super tiny bugs that were crawling around. They are so small that it's hard to say what color they are. - They might be carpet beetles. BOMB! You can buy a couple of bombs in the hardware store. Close up the rooms and put a bomb in each room that has a rug. Take your pet(s) out for the day. Set off these bombs and leave. Vacuum EVERY day afterwards. Now, If the dogs are itching or if you look on their underbelly and see something crawling on them, it's probably fleas. If that's the case, you need to get meds from the vet and attack the problem with a vengeance.

I have lived in five houses with wall-to-wall carpeting and have never, ever seen that. If you can't find out what the material is on the phone, then take a piece of it to Home Depot or a specialty carpeting store or someplace like that and get some help. If you have major problems with this, I would call your local television news station and get them interested in a faulty product story. This might pressure the carpeting manufacturer to pay some attention to your issue. One final note though: whoever owned the carpet before you might have applied some kind of product to the carpet which is causing its detioration. Good luck.

- Q: My boyfriend and I have a mini fridge in our bedroom. It was collecting ice really bad around the little freezer compartment and was so bad we could hardly open it so I unplugged it and asked him to carry it outside to drain. I went to work. The problem is not on the surface of the carpet, but the base of the carpet which has :actionbac: which is a synthetic rubber type of stuff which gets soaked, and it takes a lot of time to dry it. c)If the carpet is really old, and you cannot get the smell out in a two day time, then discard and fit a new carpet. if it is a rug which is loose laid, a) remove the rug and put it in the sun to dry it. b) reverse the carpet, exposing the backing to the sun and dry it for another day before you put it back in the room.
