Q:Ok, bought this mower at an estate auction for next to nothing. It looks like its never been used. Previous owner ripped out all the wires to the ignition switch so it wouldn't sell I guess. It's the craftsman lt 1500. Model number 247.288812. It has the 17.5hp bs motor in it. Does anyone know the correct way the wires go to the switch? There are 3 red wires so its a bit unlike what im used to. Thanks in advance!: On my sears mower with an electric clutch the switch is wired like this. G terminal is a black wire to ground. B terminal is a red wire to the ammeter. S terminal is a white wire to a safety switch. M terminal has two black wires one to the ignition coil and the other to a safety switch. L teminal is a red wire to the alternator and a red wire to the PTO switch.

Q:need color of sig wire on maf and witch wire is sig on 02 sensore: Yes we do need car description.O2 sensors black wires are normally for the heating element.It should be one of the white wires.The wire will read 0.2 volts with a cold engine and fluctuate between 0.1-0.9 volts at normal operating temp,so look for the wire which has these voltage reading.The maf signal wire will have less than 5 volts on it.Generally it will show 0.60-0.80 volts at idle and increase to between 1.50-2.20 volts at a 2500-3500 rpm level.Be aware that a maf sensors heated wire can become dirty causing it to read and function incorrectly,so it may just need to be cleaned rather than bein replaced

Q:trying to install aftermarket side mirrors w/turn signals and don't know where to locate the turn signal wires.it's for an 06 chevy cobalt LS automatic.Also is it okay to use electrical tape on the wires themselves after connecting them?: should be pretty simple if you like puzzles. You can trace the signal wire out to the front of the car by using a voltmeter and watching the meter rise each time the signal works. Yes you can use electrical tape on the wires themselves after connecting them.

If you get a positive voltage when someone else presses the brake then the positive lead you have connected will be the side that is positive. If your voltage is negative, then the wire NOT connected to the positive lead is the positive

Q:a difference of 25 feet with 16 gague wire: It depends on the impedance of the speakers; but 25 feet should not be a problem as long as your speakers are not less than 4 ohm, if your speakers are rated at 4 ohm you might want to use 14 gauge wire as 25 feet is considered the maximum length for 16 gauge wire..either way 14 gauge or 16 gauge wire with 4 ohm speakers and above should not damage your amp, 16 gauge wire may effect performance a little...if you are talking about different length wire to each speaker then you should use 12 gauge wire to the longer length and 16 gauge wire to the shorter length.....and even then you may notice some differance in preformance but that would keep it to a minimum...

Q:The infamous headlight switch please help: What is so infamous about plugging the wiring to the switch? It will only plug in one way. UPDATE 8/6/11: In over 45 years, I've only replaced one headlight switch that had melted and that was on a 1994 Plymouth Acclaim and the driver had left the headlights on all night and yes it drained the battery. The plastic plug had melted but the wires had not burned through, so I had something to work with. There is a possibility you can find a wiring diagram on Auto Zones website for your car, they do have an extensive library or you could try to find a Haynes manual for your car. Or if you are low on $$ if you tell us what manufacturer, model, year of car you drive someone here might be able to help.

Q:I want to connect a fan with light and pull chain only to a box that has the old wiring black and white to the new wiring black,white and green.Is this possible and how do I do it.: Jim W. is spot on. The old wiring may not have a grounding conductor, and the fan would not be grounded. Check to see if there is a old screw in the back of the inside of the box, that is holding down a bare wire. If so, as long as the ground wire has not been cut anywhere, and is still connected, it should be grounded. Any electrician can test it with a tester, and tell if the box is grounded. If not, you are connecting the green to the box, but it is not connected to anything. MAKE SURE THE BOX CAN HOLD THE FAN, and in the installation instructions, it tells you to add large wood screws, through the mounting bracket, into SOLID wood. If the fan is not tight, it WILL wobble..
