Q: Im trying to make a wire figure out of floral wire! HOW?!?!?! HELP!
take the wire and make the circle head first. then get the body wire and wrap the end of the to the head. get the right amount of wire for the arms and lay it across the body wire then twist it around the body in the middle a few times. for the legs bend them in the middle and wrap the bottom of the body around the bend.
Q: I have a very old house. I was unhooking the fluorescent light in our kitchen to put a round ceiling light in and the old fluorescent light was plugged into the ceiling (like any regular two pronged electrical plug). How do I wire the ground wire, the line voltage wire, and the neutral wire from the new light so I can plug it into the plug in my ceiling?
I would remove the outlet and wire the light with the wiring powering your outlet. Black to black, white to white and ground to ground. Just like you would have if the outlet weren't there.
Q: I have 2 wires coming up a conduit. i need to put those wires into a timer and then to my pump. can anyone explain or has a website with diagrams
The timer is just like a light switch, The hot from the power source (black wire) goes to one side of the timer. From the other side of the time it takes a wire to go to the pump. The white (neutral) goes from the power source to the pump. Provided this is 120 volts.
Q: Coming from my ceiling I have a black, a grey, 2 white, 2 bare and a red wire. Coming from my ceiling fan/light fixture is a green, black, black with a white stripe and a white wire. How exactly would I go about wiring this? It is a two switch setup without a remote.Thank you in advance.
You have too many wires coming from the ceiling, as it could have done (for separate fan and light control) with a black, red, white, and ground (like 14/3 w/ground romex). Someone apparently added a second run of wire up there. Up at the fan, determine which wire on the fan runs the motor, likely a black fan wire, and which powers the lights (likely a blue fan wire). Connect each to its own switch, preferably using the black you have for the fan, and say the red for the lights, tie the whites together, and the bare together. And the grey just gets ignored. This is gonna be good...
Q: What is the wiring for one headlight on a fourwheeler that has high and low beams.
one terminal on the bulb is common to both low and high beam. that will be the ground. the other two are the hi and low beam supply .take a test light and see which two of the three wires has power to ground . once the two hot wires are identified , the third wire will go to the common terminal on the head light bulb. take the other two and see which is hi and low by switching the switch and connect to the bulb . test the light before reinstalling it if there is no power at the wires than the problem is somewhere else
Q: Ceiling light junction box has 2 wires (black and white on both). One of the two is hot (always juiced). The other of the two travels down the wall to the switch junction box, and this is the only wire in this junction box. When I connect the two blacks and the two whites of the ceiling junction box, the switch wires become juiced. But when I try to hook up a switch to those switch wires, the switch doesn't cut the power to the ceiling junction box when I flip the switch on and off. Why?? -very frustrated.
You need 2 wires going to the switch. You have the black wire from your power source on the bottom screw of the switch and another wire going to your fixture. They should both be black. If it is a white wire then paint it black at both ends. Connect the real black wire to the black on the fixture and the painted black wire to the black in the ceiling and connect both whites. You had nothing there to break the connection.
Q: Does anyone know where i can buy them? I need new ones because my crazy cat chewed up two of the wires lol =#92;
Buy some speaker wire and electrician's tape and splice new wire in the area where the old wire is chewed. Make sure you don't cross positive with negative. This way, you don't have to worry about getting the right connections, and it will be inexpensive.
Q: I'm doin this thing where I need to connect some wires and one part uses Apple iPod headphones. Inside those wires, they have insulation. I burnt the wires so the insulation would not be in the way. Will the wires still conduct the electricity? Or will I just need to find some other headphones without insulation to do this with?
The undertaking of the conductors interior the cable won't regulate, however the insulation would burn and allow the conductors to the touch, making a short circuit. this could circumvent the I Pod working and would harm the output amplifier.
Q: I want wired internet on my xbox and was wondering if you need a wired router or can u just us a modem?
a router wired or wireless is not necessary, but it's useful if you have a computer.if you only connect your console, plug your ethernet cable from your modem to your console
Q: subs - dvc 4ohm 2 of them 600wattrms on each wiring it to a 1200 watt amp same brand as sub amp is 1 ohm stable to i wire the subs together and then to the amp a 1ohm? that would give each sub 600 watts right?
The current passing through the wires will cause the wires to heat up if not sufficient guage. Think of the millions of little electrons pushing and shoving back and forth, all this action causes friction on a molecular level and of course we all know friction equals heat. In a bigger guage wire there is more room for the same number of electons. It's really that simple. Use as heavy a guage speaker wire that you can. You will have no signal loss and little heat.
