- Use hairspray but the kind in an aresol can and dab don't rub, keep using fresh paper towel, I've gotten pen and grease out of coats, carpet etc with it but the trick it to dab and keep using fresh paper towel. Also when you get to just a bit left scrub it with TSP Tri Sodium Phosphate worked for me with chinese red candle spill on my beige carpet, it was aa wool carpet worked really well, with candle paper towel and an iron, ink just paper towel and aresol hairspray. - Q:Just moved. Livingroom has off white walls solid wood flooring which is a golden oak color. Am buying olive off white livingroom furniture, but need to know what colors would go well for a large rug? The curtains are also green, but more pale. I'm not picky about the style rug; can be contemporary to Oriental, as long as the colors look good.
- Anything will work. I would suggest that to give the room some interest that you pick a rug that has more in it than green and use some of those colors for accessorizing and pictures and such - unless you want to go for a room that is in just one color, of course. If you're not sure about what colors the rug should have other than green, just look at your favorite comfortor or sweater or go to the carpet store and see what kind of colors - not styles - jump at you. Colors can be tricky - but if they are using them together in carpets or fabrics that it's a pretty safe bet that they will all work together when you use them.

- what carpet or flooring you want and are satisfied with your plan you can now start to measure the rooms etc. When measuring it is very important to measure the widest point so make sure you measure into doorways as this is what most people over look. Just take your time to look in the room and make sure you have accounted for all the areas in the room. Most carpet is 4 or 5 meters in width so take this into account ie.where joins will go if required or how much waste will there be to do other areas. when measuring stairs just measure the width and allow approx 1.5 foot per stair in length. Draw arrows on your plans to which way the carpet will run this will make it easier when working out what size carpet you will need. Carpet will usually come in 12 and 15 foot wide rolls, so depending if the one you pick come in both or just 12 wide will determine exactly how much you need.
