Q: Hey, does anyone know any sites or stores for cheap rugs under $80? I would really like bright, modern colors, nothing oriental or traditional. Thanks so much!
cheap cute rugs
Q: Carpet how to take care of the cleanest?
1. Clean up in time. Use vacuum cleaners every day. Don't wait for a lot of dirt and dirt to seep into the carpet. After cleaning, it's easy to clean. When cleaning the carpet, be careful to sweep the floor under the carpet. 2, uniform use. After a few years, it's best to put the carpet in a different position so that it can be worn evenly. Once some places appear uneven, gently pat, or gently press with a steam iron. 3, decontamination methods. Ink stains can be citric acid wipe, wipe the place to wash with water, then dry towel to wipe water: coffee, cocoa, tea can get rid of glycerol: fruit juice with cold water and a small amount of dilute ammonia solution to remove the paint stains: available gasoline to washing powder together into a porridge like, painted at night to paint, special the morning of the second day with a towel and then dry warm water after cleaning dry
Q: I am just wondering in the 30's 40'5 and 50's how they cleaned carpets in there house. I know at some point the vacuum cleaner was invented but for actual carpet cleaning (with a carpet cleaner) how did they clean the carpet. I am not talking about spot cleaning either but all over carpet cleanings. Thankss
With a floor buffer and what we call carpet bonnets today.
Q: I am currently building a house. We're almost ready for flooring. We've chosen to put carpet throughout most of the house, besides the kitchen, bath and laundry room. Anyway, we are on a pretty strict budget. I need to know what quality of carpet is best. Like, do I have to buy the super expensive stuff for it to last and stay looking nice? I know that carpets have different weights and densities, does anyone know I should look for when I begin shopping around? oh, fyi: it's about 2000sq ft.
presonaly I like low cut carpet that doesn't have the little stringy things in it
Q: Okay I can't decide which carpet cleaner is better, the New Hoover Platnium Series, or the Rug Doctor (The Blue One) They both look nice. But Which Is BETTER. Name the Pros and cons of each Money is NOT A CON for me. and does the rug doctor leave the carpet vet I heard.
The rug doctor will leave allot of soap in your carpet, which will create mold. Personally I do not trust buying carpet cleaners scene as i own my own carpet cleaning company ha ha but I deff do not recommend the rug doctor to anyone, its not safe.
Q: I am making my own rug with a random pattern. One of the strands broke on the canvas and i have a large area i can't work. How do I repair this? Any help or suggestions (other than start over) would be appreciated!
I used to make my own hooked rugs...just cut a patch of canvas the approx. size of that damaged area and incorporate the patch into the rest of your wool pattern...you could thread some thread first so it will stay in place as you are hooking the rug...Since it's a random pattern it will not be noticed (only from underneath) Right?
Q: I am looking for a nice quality prayer rug. Where can I buy one online in USA? There are a lot of cheap poor quality rugs I am seeing, but I want something nice.
You cant have mine as its hanging on the wall in the spare bedroom
Q: I have a rug that my sister gave me as a gift. The colors are perfect for my home and it's the perfect size for where I need it. But there's a problem - it's in a high traffic area (landing on the stairs) and it won't stay put. It creases in the center and gets pushed up against the wall as the traffic goes by - causes safety hazard because now we're tripping all over it, and i'm getting so tired of bending down to straighten it. I know it probably wasn't an expensive rug, but I would hate to throw it out. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get it to stay on the carpet? I was thinking about gluing some thing on the bottom corners to weight it down.... maybe that's a crazy idea. I was also thinking maybe there's a way to attach it to the carpet, like a safety pin.... probably crazy too because then i'd just end up with holes in my carpet. Maybe someone more creative has an idea or knows of a cost effecient product that could help me.
HI, Two sided tapes as many people suggested will not be of much use as the back side of a wool rug is generally averse to sticking material. Using a rug pad is a good idea, but then you may not find on suitable to the size of your rug. Now, what I am suggesting is to be done only if your rug is Hand Knotted, and not to be done in any other case. If it is an authentic hand knotted rug, you may safely pin it down to the floor using safety pins or nails, in a handknotted rug there will not be any holes once you remove the pins. Trust me
Q: I'm getting ready to put new frieze carpet (similar to a shaggy carpet). I have a dyson vacume cleaner I have heard that it doesnt vacume that well on frieze carpet. Is that true? Is that type of carpet durable? Thanks for your feedback.
Cut pile carpets (frieze, shag, plush) clean well, but sometimes don't wear well. A frieze gets even wear, due to how it lays. Loop pile (berber) wear very well, but is more difficult to clean. One thing to consider is what is the carpeting made of (nylon, acrylic, olefin/polypropylene, wool, etc.) as this also determines how well it will clean up. As for a dyson vacuum cleaner, it'll be like cleaning any other type of cut pile carpet, not a problem. The best way to keep carpets looking great is for regular vacuuming and getting a good carpet cleaning company in 1 couple times a year. When you're ready for that, let me know and I can give you some questions to ask when you're calling around to find someone.
Q: The carpet in my living room is looking worn out due to heavy traffic. If I get it professionally cleaned, will it help make the carpet look newer?
Depends a lot on just how old the carpet is now and the over all quality of the carpet is. If its less than 10 years old and of some quality, a professional will use the proper water temp needed to help rejuvenate the fibers. The fibers are generally heat set and will matt and lay down over time.Professional cleaners use a water temp made to reset the fibers into an up right position. Some times it work and some times not , depends on your carpet. Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
