Q: From searching around I feel that I need to replace this on my vehicle. Is the Suction Control Valve different from the Idle Control Valve? Sometimes at a stop light the engine will stall. A couple times it has happened while driving when coasting to a turn or stop.
I would think the suction control valve is what is also called a purge valve and is part of the emissions control circuit. It is not the same as an idle control valve nor will it cause poor running when it fails. The idle control valve will however..
Q: i have a puegeot 306 turbo diesel and apparently removing the EGR valve helps with engine noise and the smokeyness of the car. Is there any downside to removing it?
It will throw off the computer, and cause the check engine light to come on. Other than that, no.
Q: Last year an echo revealed severe aortic valve regurgitation with low ef of 37 but ecg was normal. i am 36 yrs old. I have noticed that i often have chest pain when i lie on my left (especially after a heavy drinking or if my bp is high) but the pain subsides when i lie on my right or back. Is it possible that my aortic valve only leaks when i lie on my left side, if so, can I continue living a normal life without needing valve replacement surgery if avoid lieing on my left side. or i'm i fooling myself, is the heart damage progressing silently?
Hello, You don't tell us *why* your doctors think, you developed this problem with your aortic valve in the first place? Has there been any infection of the valve with germs, (bacterial endocarditis)? Did you have Rheumatic Fever as a child? Were you born, with stenosis or regurgitation of your aortic valve? Do you have abnormally early, clogging-up of your artery-linings with cholesterol?
Q: I think on old AC units They had a different valve than the shrader. It might be called a king? Anyway, I can't get my gauge to read the pressure. The needles don't move at all. How can I measure, refill this type of HVAC?
no offense, but i'm a little concerned that you have gauges and the knowhow to check freon, but dont know about different types of service / access valves.apply any advice at your own risk......anyway,,if you remove the large cap that covers the stem of the service valve you need to [ with gauges already connected] turn the stem clockwise to open it so your gauge can read the pressure,[ they make a special service valve wrench for this purpose,an adjustable wrench usually will work, but be careful not to strip the square end of the stem if its old and doesnt want to turn],,only turn the stem one or two times around,,DO NOT keep turning it clockwise until it stops or you will close the valve off....when finished checking with gauges,be sure to turn stem counterclockwise until it stops turning,,then you can safely remove gauges..if you remove gauges without turning stem counterclockwise, the the freon will blow out of the valve when gauges are removed,,not a pleasant experience,, be sure to where gloves and goggles, esp if you arent used to doing this......dan
Q: I mean dropping the valve seat. And some mechanic told me that it dropped when the catalytic converter got clogged and it hurt the engine. But the most I've heard is that if I want to avoid this from happening I should be running the engine a bit colder because the valves weren't made with the right specs and after a 100,000 miles they become a bit loose and when the engine gets to the normal temperature or just a bit above, the valve seats would drop. Does ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS?
If the valve has dropped you will hear a ticking nose when the engine is running. It the valve hitting the piston. This need to be fixed ASAP, With a stuck valve you will experance back firing or lots of smoke could out of the tall pipe especially on acceleration. Either way if you are trying to keep your car I would have the problem correctly diagnosed and this will likely means you will need a top end rebuild. These little 1.9L ford engines were pretty tough but after XX amount of miles and so many years it time for some internal engine work.
Q: i dont get how valves produce the sound? and why did we change to solid state? was that because they we're used in stereos?
Most valve amps I have used reproduce the sound of a tube amp. Tubes have a warm sound and can be overdriven to get that good rock crunch distortion sound. We went to solid state because they were durable and didn't require the maintenance of a tube amp. Printed circuits and transistors cut the cost of manufacturing. The old tube amps still have the purpose and they never quite matched the exact sound of tubes with the solid state amps. That is why they are making a lot of tube amps now.
Q: I have a 98 Mitsubishi Mirage, seems there is a valve cover oil leak, i know this can be easily fixed by replacing the gasket.. but how will i know if the leak isn't from the valve cover gasket . Is the cylinder head gasket a major issue also .. if its not really the valve cover thats producing the oil leak should i not worry and just replace the valve cover gasket .?
The valve cover gasket is not as big of a deal, if it gets really bad you will just start smelling a lot of burining oil. The head gasket can become a major issue, especially since coolant also flows through more internal part of the gasket. The question you need to ask is if the leak is closer to the top (valve cover) or farther down the block?
Q: My car has been sputtering and hesitating when I hit the gas. My friend's boyfriend says it is a bad erg valve does that sound right?
An EGR valve being open will cause mostly idle problems and light throttle/initial take-off problems...mostly when you have a high manifold vacuum is when you end up with problems because of a sticking EGR valve. Just remove the valve and clean it by soaking it in something like B-12 Chemtool. I can garuntee you that valve is probably disgustingly full of carbon depending on the year.
Q: Could I get some possible remedies for Mitral Valve Prolapse pain? I currently am off beta blockers, and I need to cope with the mild, moderate to severe chest pain I experience. Female, average weight for my height, nonsmoker, maybe one alcoholic drink a week, exercise at least 3.5 hours a week. What do others with mitral valve prolapse do that helps?
Weight okorder , why not try it, what have you got to lose?
Q: How hard would it be to fix an EGR valve on a 1990 Geo Storm that is stuck open? if not fixable, how much would it cost to replace it, or have it replaced by a professional?
the okorder /.. call the number on this site.. get what you need and have them ship it.. and put it on yourself... save about thirty dollars shop charge.. ok
