- Q: I currently get Better Homes and Gardens and Ladies Home Journal. I like recipes and articles on decorating. Any other good magazines?
- coutry living
- Q: I have a nice little spot to plant a garden; I'd like to do herbs for my cooking. It gets morning sun, till about 1pm. Any suggestions?
- You would really be suprised at what will grow, even if it's not in the sun!
- Q: Built by Aeronautic engineer by the name of Andrews.
- If you have his full name google him Check BHG web site for back issues. google bhg 1980 feature homes. contact BHG for back issues. Good luck.
- Q: I may be wrong with it's name as I don't know what it called exactly. I read this before so many years. In this u can take an empty glass bottle / tank / bulb / anything which is transperant and in which u can grow small plants of 4-7 inches. If you have any information regarding this, then let me know. and thanx in advance
- If your'e talking about a terrarium, you just need to decide how you want to set it (if it doesn't have a bottom) and put enough dirt in the bottom for the plants to grow. Many things may outgrow your terrarium in time but hopefully you can remove them before they take over. The size of the plants is determined by the size of the container. You can check out the different types of house plants available, which may work, well at most home and garden centers or a local nursery. You will probably want to get the smallest size available so that you can watch it grow. And you may be able to find a friend willing to give you small starts off of their houseplants. Either way, good luck.
- Q: I recently bought the quot;second printingquot; of Better Homes and Gardens' quot;Easy Garden Guide: No-Fail Flowers.quot; It has a number of garden plants, mainly flowers, of course, but nowhere in the guide can I find the flower pictured on the cover. It's a lovely purple flower with an odd look about it. The stamen are extremely pronounced, green, and they seem to be curling back on themselves. The petals, aside from being, well, purple, look a lot like leaves. The leaves themselves are actually more like a bunch of stems than actual leaves. The whole plant seems to be very pointy, all over the place, aside from the stamen. It's a gorgeous, weird little flower, and I'd like to know if I can grow it here in Louisiana. The first few pages on the inside don't have anything mentioning the cover flower from what I can see. Has anyone seen this little magazine? What type of flower is this?
- it sounds like a clematis to me. google clematis and see if there is a site for pictures, see if you can find it in there. they are very pretty , a running vine
- Q: I want to plant a garden in my new home! It will mainly be vegtable but I may have some other types of plants. I wanted to know if there are any plants that may be dangerous to my two yellow labs?
- do not let them eat onion or grapes if you have it in the garden. everything else should be fine.
- Q: looking for a house. it says rent-to-own. what does that mean
- Yu make monthly payments to rent the house, and if you make enough payments for long enough, you have the option to buy the house by paying an additional amount (which is less than it would be otherwise, because all along, part of your rent payments were being set aside as a downpayment to buy the house - but if you decide not to buy, you lose that money that was being set aside and the landlord keeps it).
- Q: I am asking for a friend.
- Bwho wants to be the first male prisinor to suggest a flower garden in the excercise yard ?
- Q: I found a huge spider in my home, can anyone tell me what is the best site to find out what kind it is..???
- Huge okorder /... If this is not your spider then you might consider giving us a description so we can identify it for you. There are way too many spiders in the home, garden, or on the net to find a site that will show you every spider in existance. Knowing your location would be helpful as well. If this is not your spider then you might try going to yahoo and typing in Picture...(description)...spider and see what you come up with. Good Luck
- Q: I would like to grow from seed. (maybe buy teen plants from armstrong and transplant) Should I plant in Edna's Best potting soil or plant into compost? Im new to this..I plan to grow any berry, fruit, vegetable or herb that can be grown in the fairly small space I will be having. Now, lets break down the ingredients in this particular soil bag.
- Check okorder . It won't give you exact levels of nutrients needed, but more of a general approximation. Compost is a good amendment to your soil. You could grow in only compost, but plants prefer growing in some dirt. You can add compost to the top of the containers each year, or few times per year to give the plants additional nutrients
