Q:what can i put in a garden to keep rabbits away. Heard of fox urine. does it really work? where do you get it how much does it cost how long does it last. Is there anything better? Is the produce safe to eat after you use that?
A good fence,a dog, I got a motion activated sprinkler it scares the crap out of all garden loving animals(deer, bunny's and turkeys and the neighbor cat) it also is quite funny to watch the animals run away. I think i payed like $18 for it.
Q:I just read in my local paper that tilling the garden every years is NOT a good idea! I have a small community garden which a neighbor dutifully tills for us, does an amazing job, but the article said that too much tilling upsets the eco-system of the soil.Any thoughts and advise on this before we till for spring (we live in Cleveland, OH)
As a retired farmer and avid gardener here in North Dakota I've seen big changes with no till agriculture but it's use in the home garden is slow to catch on. When I moved in to this home it was barren blow sand over hard pan. For the first five years I used a tiller to mix the sand, clay and tons of amendments to the soil for raised beds and then I sold the tiller. I now practice no till techniques on all my gardens and my soil now looks like premium potting soil. In fact I use my soil to start seeds after it's been pasteurized. I leave all my garden debris to be overwintered. In the spring I cut the stems off at the soil line and leave the roots in the ground to slowly decompose and create water channels and provide some breathing room for earthworms. When I first moved the ground was full of worms and night crawlers but tilling reduced their numbers dramatically, now they have returned. Soil becomes sterile if you pound it into dust all the time. My next goal is to sell my lawnmower. RScott
Q:I'm moving into a new home soon with a lot of painting projects and I seem to be stuck on the home office. I'm a fan of Feng Shui and believe that certain colors and elements should be incorporated in every room by reason. I'm not a big fan of clutter and like to keep things minimal and clean. Since it is going to be a home office, I'd like to stray away from heavy colors that can make you feel relaxed or sleepy. Can someone give me some ideas on what colors and elements you think I should incorporate in this room?
This okorder / Make sure to have some real bamboo in the room. Look for lamps in stores such as marshall's or Home goods.
Q:about two months ago we started to plant our flowers in our garden.then one week later we notice we had alot of dead flowers.then that same day we had some guest over and they all said it was squirrels.so if you have a way of keeping sqirrels out of your garden please tell me!!!!
I've had this same exact problem with squirrels eating my bulbs. One word.... MOTHBALLS!! Well, maybe that's two, but I'm telling you, it works like a charm! The squirrels haven't touched my garden since. You can get mothballs at dollar stores, home and garden stores, pretty much anywhere. You just have to ask around. Once you get the mothballs, place two balls beside each flower, and bury it about half and inch or less into the soil. Squirrels and other small pests HATE the smell of mothballs, and they will stay away from your flowers. Guaranteed. The mothballs will not kill your flowers either, so don't worry about that. You can pretty much put as much mothballs down as you please. The only thing that sucks it that they're a little bit stinky... but hey, it works!! Good luck!
Q:During the last week-two week period, these little creatures have appeared inside our home. Our guess to their arrival is they attached themselves in some way to my fathers work attire while he was building some facilities for produce, as we are not gardeners by any measure nor have anything in particular growing inside the home that would convince a significant # to enter our home.
I dont realize what to say but, long tresses is cute but you keep moving your hair up so you can easily see, short hair is cool and also you dont have to flick your current hair up at all
Q:Which direction should buddha statue face in home or garden?
In Asian temples and temple gardens, Buddha statues are generally oriented so that they face the south. There are various geomantic reasons for this, but primarily it's so that the Buddha doesn't have to face into the demon energy that is said to come out of the north. Truthfully, it doesn't matter too much. In my home, one Buddha statue faces east, another faces north. They both look happy. And I'm happy, also.
Q:Ive been thinking of subscribing to some magazines, I don't know much about gardening but I'd like to start one next spring, vegetables and flowers, and I'll prolly be planting some stuff this fall too (tulips! maybe other stuff too?) So some magazines with lots of information and tips would be nice. I was thinking of getting better homes and gardens, but I'm not sure, maybe that and another one.. Any suggestions?
I don't subscribe to one myself, if I need advice I go to google or here. I haven't found a magazine that seems to cater to 'regular folk' and their gardens, they all seem to be about like gardens at mansions and such. But, if I do want to brows a magazine, I do it while I am at home depot or lowes or walmart, they have magazines (especially home depot) near the garden sections, and I can get ideas from those. Go to your local home depot or garden center, brows what mags they have and see if they fit your needs, sorta like test driving the mags! :)
Q:If your a real wrestling fan you like other things beside the in ring action for example venues. This is a hot topic when it comes to venues. Both has hosted Wrestlemania. Staples Center is venue home to Michael Jackson and Madision Square Garden is venue home to rapper Jay-z.Staples Center had Michael Jackson's public funeral. IDK!!!!!!!!!!!!?
Madison Square Garden is where the WWE considers it's Home Base to be. Madison Square Garden is the most famous arena in World and has great sight lines no matter where you sit. Madison Square Garden is the Home of the New York Knicks, The New York Rangers, The New York Liberty. Madison Square Garden is where Hulk Hogan beat the Iron Sheik in 1984 and became the WWE Champion. Madison Square Garden is where Chris Benoit beat Shawn Michaels and Triple H and became the WWE Champion. Madison Square Garden is where Jimmy Super Fly Snuka leaped off the top of the Steel Cage onto the Magnificent Marroco. Madison Square Garden is where Diesel beat Bob Backlund and became the WWE Champion. I could go on and on, but you get the idea.
