- Q:Has anyone ever used welding wire in their car audio setup? Is it more flexible or less than other car power wire? Is this a big problem? Is it a good or bad jacket?Would you use it again?I am looking at buying some welding wire from weldingsupply because it is .81 per foot. I would love to know if anyone has done this before and what they thought. The wire i am looking at is 4 gague.
- First off- it is cheaper than audio power wire, you can buy it as thick as 3 ought, I've seen it used. But flexibility is a big deal when hiding power wire, at least I think so, and welding wire is not the most flexible but it is better than solid wire, and power currant runs faster through audio power wire because of the small cooper strands that make up the wire. Than in welding wire because it has thicker and not as many strands that make up the wire, currant will run slower. Will any wire work? yes........ go to a smaller local audio dealer and ask the owner for info
- Q:I need a wiring guide or diagram for the stereo of a 2005 ford taurus. somethig that will show which wires are for front and rear speakers, and the remote start wire
- if you are installing a radio you dont need that the wires should match and they have codes to match written on them
- Q:Ok You know the speaker wires that go to the back of the subwoofer? The metal part that comes out of the wire came out of the wire, and it makes a funny sound or no sound at all. How can I fix this? Also, I cut the wire and put the copper wires into the subwoofer, it works so so, any sugestions? lew
- If it's a RCA type jack, just buy a new cable. Your method would normally work, but you really need a good solid connection. You can get a RCA cable crimper, which would allow you to attach a new RCA jack to the cable...but the kit will cost you as much as a new cable. Personally, I'd just buy a new cable.
- Q:i changed the sprak plugs wires on my 1990 300e and when i put the car on Drive it vibrates strongly. i kept checking that each wire is in the right place and on. do i need to restart the brain or reprogram the car ?
- Sounds like you still have a wire crossed somewhere. Just for the future Change one wire at a time. Hope this helps good luck!
- Q:while changing a lighting fixture i accidently pulled out the white wire while trying to strip it of the three caps in the electrical box im not sure which one it goes intheres a cap with two black wires and one white running too it another cap with three white wire running two it and a cap with a black wire running too it and the other black wire goes too the fixture which one of these caps do the white wire that connects too the fixture belong in?
- Hi There, The white wire (pigtail) that was pulled loose needs to be connected to the other white wires inside the box. . After that connect the black pigtail (that is hanging loose) and white pigtail to the eterminals on the light fixture. Hope that helps, Al
- Q:Our house ground wire is very long but our live and natural wires are very short. Once there was a surge in our telephone line system and both my Belkin Surge Protectors seemed to have not stopped it. The surge was stopped at my last protector when its sensitive fuse blew (it was a 10 ohm resistor fuse). Is it possible that since the natural wire is shorter than the ground wire the surge wantted to go through my PC and into the natural wire? Or is it just because the 10 ohm resistor fuse was a bit too sensitive or something? (Well it didn't blow up when there was no lightning outside)I'm thinking of making my natural wire longer by extending it so a surge finds the ground wire more attractive, is this advice able?
- Check and make sure its grounded properly,if your in a high surge area look into a surge meter from your electricity company.Peace of mind,no need for buying surge protectors and wishing they work.Any lose will be insured by electric company.
- Q:The output part of wire plastic and part of wire broken, and the connection lost sometimes, some taps used to wrap up but the connection is still not good. How to fix it permanently?
- Only try to fix it if it is on the lptop side, DON't play with A/C power unless you're qualified. If it is on the safe voltage side you could cut the wire, strip back the wires about 1cm, and twist them together, then solder the wires. Before you join them slide a small piece of heatshrink over one side of it, then after joining and soldering the wires wrap a small amount of electrical tape around the bare wires then slide the heatshrink over it all and heat it up to enclose it all, Fixed ! If you need help with it let me know. Cheers,
- Q:I notice my 10/100 Ethernet wire uses 4 wires (2 twisted pairs). I'm curious what each wire is used for. I understand one pair is for Tx (transmit) and the other for Rx (receive) but why does it need 2 wires for each? I assume bits of data cross on one, but what of the other?
- This is an ethernet only cable. A full patch lead has 8 cables. Yours is STILL an ethernet cable. The additional blue pair would be telephone and the brown pair was unused, but is commonly used for power over ethernet now. ANY data connection requires 2 cables to balance the signal. In effect one is pushing voltage while the other is pulling and vice versa. One is signal, in effect the other is a ground, bur the idea is that by using twisted pair cables the inductive voltage created in one polarity on one is cancelled by the inductive voltage returning on the other in opposite polarity. The same rule applies to external interference from other equipment as these are also cancelled. If it used one cable and a common ground you can never guarantee this immunity to interference.
- Q:Does anybody know of a How to Guide... or a tutorial or something to help me wire a Telecaster for a project? I'm pretty new at this and I want to make sense of the wiring diagrams I've found and make sure I don't screw anything up, thank you.
- extremely tough point. look into from google. just that could help!
- Q:Hi,I have an issue with wiring in house. This is in Paris, France. I will share a foto so you can have a clearer picture what my question is.
- It's not just your oven that makes a difference, but the year your oven was manufactured in AND the country it was manufactured in that makes a difference. It was easy to identify your supply wires as Brown = live wire; Blue = return (neutral) wire; green/yellow = earth ground, and this is single phase wiring. There would be an orange wire for 3 phase... ...but the oven wiring conforms to a different standard of gray - white -red where red is possibly the ground line, while the other two are your live and return wires, with the gray likely to be the return wire....BUT...in some time periods, the red wire was the live wire. Your best bet is to test the oven wiring out with a multi-meter and look at what color of wire is connected to where. The earth ground should be connected to the oven's cabinetry; the live wire would be wired to the oven's internal fuse or circuit breaker, and then wired to the business end of the heater elements, timers, etc. The return wire would be connected to the other side of the elements and timers. Your most reliable way to address this is to consult a professional. That second link I posted has both old and new French wiring standards, and neither match your oven. And if your oven isn't manufactured in France, you have yet another level of wiring code to unscramble.
