Q: I have a water valve that I need to connect but I don't know how to read this diagram. I'm unsure how to connect the wires to the cold and hot valve. I have four wires that need to be connected. A pair of white caps with one blue wire and one orange; and a pair of black caps with one blue wire and one yellow wire. Sorry if this sounds confusing but I have no idea how to explain it well. Thanks!
The schematic drawings for a large electrical installation will 'normally' have a 'key to symbols' sheet. However some symbols you will have to work out for yourself. (comes with experience). Schematics for control systems may be a different kettle of fish. After 45 years as a maintenance electrician at sea and ashore I came to the conclusion that not only do different countries have different standards, but so do the individual electrical design engineers. Normally control drgs of many pages will have some reference to page No. and grid No's. Each page will be divided into grids, say 1 to 10 across top and A to H vertical. A relay with many contacts, but each contact on different pages, will have a symbol showing all contacts below the coil symbol. Each contact will show :- contact No's, page No and grid ref. IE. 13-14 (4) 2D. This is contacts 13-14 on page 4 at ref 2 across and D vertical. Sorry I can't help you any more with this but I'd be here for the next week or more going through all the different standards.
Q: I am trying to install an outside motion activated light fixture, there is a box with a yellow wire that did not have power... I found a white wire with power and joined it to the yellow wire...and after installing the fixture (white wire to white wire, black wire to black wire) my fixture is not turning on... uld it be because of the two kind of wires??
No, the wire colors wouldn't matter if they were wired correctly. First, if you see a yellow wire, that is not a conventional wiring setup. You need to find a black wire (hot) that is switched, and a white wire (neutral) that is at ground potential. There should also be a green or bare copper ground wire. On the fixture, black goes to black, white to white, and the ground wire to the metal fixture if there's a ground connection, or if the fixture screws to a metal box, the ground can be connected to the box instead.
Q: What method can be used to detect residual impurities and metal particles on the wire surface?
Therefore, the removal of metal surface impurities and removal of metal surface oxides, the two are different.
Q: the charger has three wires to put a male plug on and they are black white and green and they look like 12 gauge wires
wire colors are green is ground the black and white wires are you load wires look at you 240 volt plug and determine which terminal is the ground this one is where the green wire goes the black and white wire go to other two terminals this should do it
Q: what if I use a 100 amps.main braker to wire my range and dryer
Don't okorder /... The breaker won't trip when it needs to and a fire could result.
Q: Hi,I'm trying to install a ceiling light with a 3 wire configuration (white, black, ground) into a wire configuration of 4 wires (white, red, black, ground). This is configured for two on/off switches. So far, I have white to white, black to black, and ground to ground with the red capped off. This works with one switch perfectly, however when I hit the other switch, the circuit breaker blows. Please help, and thank you!
I think according to your description of the wire configuration what you have is a power supply at the switches and 2 lead wires (red and black) coming up to power the light and fan separately. The white wire, or neutral wire is for a return path while the ground wire is a backup in the event the neutral fails. At the switch in the wall, you should note a black wire (power source) coming to the bottom terminal of any switches. From there, you will find another black or red wire going to the light itself. The neutral wires are all connected together and tucked away in the switch box. If the 4 wire configuration is from the fixture itself, then you would have a black wire for power to the light, a red wire for power to the fan unit while the white is a neutral return. If there is only one wall switch, you could in theory, connect the black and red from the fixture to the power supply coming up from the switch and therefore use the pull chains located on the fixture to turn on the light or fan or both. Failing this, it would be best to call a qualified electrician and protect yourself from what could be a nasty fire. Good Luck.
Q: Hello everyone! I have what is probably a very simple question.I'm not exactly a radio expert. So my question is this:Is there a difference between copper wire and antenna wire (copper as well)?
Since high frequency electromagnetic waves travel at or near the surface of the wire, then the wire has no need to be solid copper, as there won't be any current flowing through the center anyway. Thus most antennas are hollow (to reduce weight). As the first responder said, sometimes antenna wire is formed from copper wire strands wrapped around a steel core. Steel is a relatively poor conductor, but since most or all of the current flows through the outside, this doesn't matter. The steel center provides strength, as steel is stronger than copper, and it is usually less expensive. But you can just use pure copper wire also; it shouldn't matter for most applications. If using a two conductor wire -- one ground and one for the signal in the same cable -- then keep in mind that a twisted pair is more resistant to outside noise:
Q: I have eight speaker wires, I can figure that out on my own. I also have a red/blue stripe, black/red stripe, black/white stripe, and blue. Which ones are the power wires?
I found this online. I can't promise it's 100% correct. best of luck! Q: what is the best wire to use for a chainmail
If you plan to wear this, stainless steel is the only wire that will not rust. Knights look terrible with underarm rusty mail.
Q: I need to buy some electrical wire for my car, does it matter what color the copper wire is inside of ( i.e. black, yellow, red, green, blue, etc.)
Color in electronics wire does not matter. It is simply so you can trace that the blue wire goes from here to there. Generally the Black is ground and Red is supply. In house AC wiring the black is hot, white is ground or neutral and green is earth or frame ground.
