Q: i need to transfer data between 2 laptops (windows 7). I got to know that network cable can do it. What is the procedure. What cable should i buy? Please say it simply coz i dnt knw anything abt netwrking.
To directly link the two together with just a cable, you need a special ethernet cable called a crossover, these can be bought from amazon really cheap. Plug one end into each computer, then on each you need to share the drives. So right click a drive letter and select share this drive, once done you can explorer to each and copy the files.
Q: Are there any differences in the difference between the mobile phone data lines?
USB interface data can be divided into two categories, one is ordinary, without ic chip, this data is cheaper, usually about ten dollars or so, but this type of data is generally used to simply transfer data and Charge use.
Q: I'm connecting my old laptop to my new one in hopes that I'll be able to transfer old data to my new hard drive. Can someone walk me through this? :)Some problems though:My old laptop is an Acer Travelmate 4010 and the lid is detached :/ I'm hoping that won't make a difference? If so, how can I accommodate for this? There was also a few crooked pointy things (Lol, I don't know the name) in the port of my hard drive. I straightened them out as best I could. I'm guessing this can make an impact too :/Helppp :)
Regarding the data transfer question, I can offer three suggestions: 1) buy a thumb drive for about $10 and plug it into the laptop. Copy your data to it and then connect it to the new computer and copy the files from the thumbdrive to your new PC. 2) buy a cross-over data wire and use it to connect both computers together. You'll need some instructions for how to make this work, so it's may not be your best option. 3) get a friend to help you connect both computers to the same router, and then to help you connect both computers together to allow for file transfer. This option will depend on how much your friend can help with. Sorry I couldn't be a bit more specific, but I'm trying not to confuse you further. Hope this helps
Q: I have a new DVD drive, and when I went to install it, realized that I have a 4-pin CD_IN slot, and the S-ATA data cable that came with the drive is 7 pin on both ends. Does anyone know if I can buy an adapter, and if so, where? I've looked around a couple of places, but with no results.
The CD_IN slot is for audio only. The data cable is for connecting to a SATA port. You also require a SATA power connector. Unless these are already on your motherboard you can not use it.
Q: how much it costs? wil it cause any power problem bcoz both laptop and pc operates at different voltage?
Go to a computer store (not a chain store that sells computers) and tell them you want a cross over network cable so that you can plug the two together without a router. Plug them together, turn on file sharing (why does Windows require a reboot when you turn on file sharing?), and then copy the files via that network. The crossover cable will cost about $20. Most likely less unless the store makes it themselves and over-values their labor.
Q: I have a launch Xbox 360 with the 20GB HDD and I'm considering the Xbox 360 Slim with the 250GB HDD but I want to make sure I can convert all my ripped music files and playlists to the new Xbox. I have roughly 99 playlists of 15+ songs on each of them on my original Xbox and I want to make sure I can convert them to the new one.
The transfer cable will not transfer music. There's no way of moving music without just re-ripping it.
Q: I understand that with data transfer from computer to an external hard drive via USB, the data on the external will be exactly the same as the original data, barring any hard drive malfunction.
Yes to most of your questions. Use ANY HDMI 1.3a cable and you'll be guaranteed the highest data transfer whether it's a $20 cable or a $120 cable And I wouldn't throw $100 out the door for a cable that doesn't do anything MORE than the $20 HDMI 1.3a cable can. You see, it's the HDMI 1.3 STANDARD that guarantees the best throughputyou can't stamp it with the 1.3a seal of approval unless it passes their testing So the word cheap doesn't apply hereBest price or Worst price does Oh, and to the guy just above me.WRONG! Wrong wrong wrong!! There IS ERROR CORRECTION done with the HDMI signal !! It detects lost packets, and can rebuild them ! You do see pixellation when the AMOUNT of lost packets is so High the TV set can only Rough In the Block of lost information, but it error corrects nonetheless.
Q: If I use data cable transfer files to my cell phone, are they cost money ?
no they do not. the data cables are for your own personal usage. they have no way of regulating or limiting the amount of data you transfer to and from your cell phone. however, if you are downloading programs from your service provider's website and then transferring them to your phonethey will more than likely charge your account for files downloaded. but that's only if you go through them. anywhere else on the internet is free game, so download whatever you like and have fun personalizing your phone!
Q: I have a USB data cable for my Samsung A 737. I bought a ringtone (I did not steal it, just so you know) and it is saved on my computer. How do I get it from my laptop to my phone using the cable? P.S. I have a Mac, but Windows users feel free to answer too, it may help. I really need new ringtones! Thank you!
ok open my computer, once u plug in the cable it will show up there.look for the ringtone and drag it to the usb cable icon it will save to ur phone
Q: I have a laptop that is an '02 model (I think) but it is running Windows xp SP-3 just like my desktop. I have a crossover ethernet cable (it's black and it isn't the normal size; it's the smaller size heads). Anyways, I was wondering how I could transfer a file (well more like a program) through the cable because I don't have anything big enough to hold 3GB of stuff. Also, is there a way to connect to the internet through this cable? Oh and don't say Get a wireless router because I have one.
Does your laptop have either a connection for a CAT5 cable or wireless on it? If not you're screwed. If so I can help you.
