- Q: Our roof tile is installed on top of galvanized iron sheets. We do not have any toher form of insulation. The roof tile or tegula is quite thick.
- You can never have too much insulation, esp. in a roof. Heat rises, and a well-insulated roof helps with energy savings.

- the best floor insulation is the two on the roof or the 1st floor ceiling, (floor of the attic), no longer the two. If that is already on the ceiling, the attic is vented to the exterior, and insulating the roof could make little or no distinction. Laying one extra 'blanket on the floor is a thank you to bypass in case you prefer to enhance. Insulating a roof will boost the summer season temperature of the roofing, and could adversely result the life of a few components.

- No. Ventilation prolongs the life of a roof. Ventilation also reduces the air conditioning bill by a huge amount. If you use a lot of AC, also add an automatic attic fan. As for insulation, the idea is to have a good R factor, relative to where you live, directly above the highest living space ceiling in the house

- I would be concerned that this may cause moisture to form between the roofing and the insulation. They make a special foam panel that fit underneath the roofing in between the roof rafters. They allow air to flow from the eave to the roof's ridge.

- No it is not EVER safe! Roofing material needs to breathe. Anywhere that insulation is applied to the underside of the roof deck the roofing material will warp and then leak. You have to have a cushion of air between the underside of the decking and the insulation

- u can buy blow in insulation. I think Home Depot even lets you rent the blower machine free if you buy a certain amount of bags of the insulation.
