Q: i soldered in one of those ribbon cables on to my hp's laptop power button cause the old ribbon was failing. anyways i am having some issues with this new cable1 the laptop will power on by itself if i insert the ribbon into the motherboard connector2 the only way to power off the laptop is to remove the cable from the mother board connector and that means opening up the whole laptop3 like i said it will power on by itself so that means that i cant turn it on/off with the power buttonevery thing is soldered correctly i dont understand also i am not sure but does the cable have to be like the old one cause the new one i soldered in looks the same? could it be that it needs that one particular cable replaced again? please help me i am sad: Time to hang up our computer repair skills and take it to a shop...

What you have is a YLOD case(yellow light of dead) it can be many things wrong with it but in your case its the cpu slowly loseing i am geussing he didnt tell you that it has YLOD u will have to watch many youtube vids to fix it or just go to a hardware man or a local computer specialtest he will do it for 20 bucks

Addressing the different solutions: this won't drain the battery any quicker than working a single twine to a distribution block; and there isn't any might desire to characteristic a 2d battery except you intend to play the gadget for long classes without the engine working.

Q: I moved to another country and my computer arrived without the cord that goes from the power supply unit to the wall (aka I can?t turn it on). The PSU in question is a Corsair 750W Unit. I tried searching for independent cables but as expected no one sells them. Contacting the manufacturer is too much of a pain. I was wonder, could I find special generic cables that would work with the PSU? Not necessarily by the manufacturer. Thank you.: (link defaults to 1foot, but id recommend a 6foot cable at the minimum, as 1-3 feet can be very limiting.) If using more then 1000W of power, you will need a cable capiable of it. one above is rated at 10A, and given psu efficiency (rounding way down for very inefficient ones) you should be able to get like 900-1000W+ from it w/o any worry. (that doesnt mean using a 1000W psu.. im talking about pulling 1000W+ from the wall, and unless you have like 3 gtx titans running at 100% .)

Q: Can i make the CAT 5 speaker cable, explained on many websites, as a 4 gauge power wire from my battery to my amp?: ohh h*ll no! theres no way in h*ll that wud work, those wires would overheat and melt so fast with the amount of power that needs to be flowing through them. 4 guage wire is reasonably cheap. do it right, don't blow your car up

Q: is there any way to fix this? i don't want to upgrade my power thingy though.: Did the cardboard incorporate a cable that has a huge and small white connector on one end and a huge connector on the different? Or a small connector on one end and a extensive 4pin connector on the different end? If it did, connect the small connector to the small 4 pin interface connection on the lower back of the cardboard and hook the means suppy to the different end of the cardboard. This ingredients the voltage mandatory to run the fan, you pick this for cooling.
