Manganese has a melting point of 1245oC,specific gravity of 7.2.Ordinary manganese is a hard and brittle gray-white metal .It is chemically reactive and slowly decompose cold water. Manganese metal is ferromagnetic after special treatment.

- Speed metal tends to be similar, but faster. Speed metal also tends to be more melodic. Thrash is faster than traditional metal. Check out the second link, a site dedicated to metal. lists all the genres. SO many nowadays. I like the old days when there was heavy metal and, heavy metal.

- Q: Black Metal for me. The only death metal band I really enjoy (though TBH, I'm still exploring the genre) is Death. Black metal is more ambient and atmospheric, IMO.
- The term scrap metal encompasses both ferrous and non ferrous metals: ferrous - steel, iron, HMS and Non ferrrous - copper, aluminum, brass, bronze etc. Within each scrap metal category there are different grades, for example there is #1 HMS steel, #2 HMS steel, Bare brite Copper, etc.

- sub genres help when I'm trying to describe a band, or when I'm looking for more of a particular sound, but it's a double edged sword because I think it limits people's imagination, everything has to fit perfectly in a category, but I find the best bands often do not fit perfectly in a category. some genres are superfluous duplicates of other genres, for example Folk metal is a real genre, as you can imagine it's tradition folk music + metal, but pirate metal is just folk metal + lyrics about pirates, that's not really a genre when you think about it, and neither is Viking metal.

- All metals can be classed as either ferrous or non ferrous. Ferrous metals contain iron. They may have small amounts of other metals or other elements added, to give any required properties. Also, ferrous metals are magnetic and give little resistance to corrosion. e.g steel Non-Ferrous Metals are metals which do not contain any iron. They are not magnetic and are usually more resistant to corrosion than ferrous metals. e.g aluminium, copper, lead. zinc and tin.
